  1. Fantastic, hopefully will quell the fears of the doubters that this is actually happening. Can't wait to get back on this fun little clasic.
  2. Interesting look at the work which is ongoing to get the rides ready, and some wonderful old footage.
  3. Open auditions for scare actors!
  4. And this is the point. Why spend money on a dark ride now if they don't have the draw or longevity of a similarly priced coaster? With no planning submitted yet can we confidently say next season will at least begin with nothing new?
  5. Sorry, that is rubbish. 10 years should not be anything like the lifespan of a major ride, the only reason it would be is if the ride is built and opened and not a jot of work done on it after to keep it in a decent state, which is clearly not the way to run a park! If the people designing it had told the park it would be obsolete in 10 years the project would never have got the green light.
  6. So fantastic they felt the need to rip its heart out and replace it with a gimick after just a few years because of the general apathy towards it from the public? Just like they had to with the magical 5th dimension previously. Even something as perfect as Hex is largely overlooked by non fanboy visitors. Don't get me wrong, I agree with you entirely, but you can see why they are apprehensive of throwing money at a proper dark ride when the public are largely idiots and don't appreciate them.
  7. JoshC there, desperately trying to protect his mafia buddy. I know who's next on the hit list once Tommy is out of the way then!
  8. Great TR. This is probably the park I most want to visit from this trip, and not only for one of those waffles.

    Paultons Park

Anyone know where in the park the sign is located?

    Paultons Park

Seems they are putting a fun little story behind this Critter Creek thing too... https://paultonspark.co.uk/education/professor-blasts-diary/2014/08/421/the-diary-of-professor-stanley-h-blast Likes Rollercoasters. Interesting! Surely there would be planning floating about if anything big was happening?
  12. Love you discouraging lynching immediately after your name is put up... Proper sus. Get voting peeps.
  13. Discussing what? Working out who is who ('power' wise) I presume? Could you fix the link on post 1, then I might figure what's going on! Sorry for being a N00b. Oh, and... ##vote Tommy Seemed overly keen to influence others day 1 to me, proper sus.
  14. It is an upcharge attraction. I hate to see something which resembles a traditional ride as pay per use inside a theme park, something like a bungee shot (or waverider!) is fine though - no one looking at it would ever reasonably expect it to be included for everyone.
  15. Some stuff... USA - Man falls though ride platform of Tilt-a-Whirl, minor injuries. USA - Kid falls from star flyer, breaks wrist. It had only risen 10ft at the time, thankfully. USA - 2 kids fall from Ferris Wheel, critically injured. Somehow the carriages seem to have caught on each other, tipping occupants out. TURKEY - Boy falls from ride, killed. Appears his harness failed on what looks to me like an Intamin Gyro like Maelstrom, or knock off. Anyone know? USA - Man rides defective water slide, smashes feet and legs to pieces. With no water at the bottom to slow him hits end of slide hard. Ouch. USA - 2 teens fall from Divebomber type ride, one seriously injured. Seems the ride op 'didn't shut the ride door', if they are like the UK versions the door is the restraint.

    Anti-Rant

I confess to having never heard of them before, but they were great to stumble upon as the sun went down.
  17. Was a shame that had to make way for rage, was a great little flume for the site they squeezed it in to. Would have thought Rage would have been better off going at the end of the water slides where with a bit of shuffling nothing would have had to go, I can only imagine the flume wasn't able to pay for itself which is obviously essential in a pay per ride park.
  18. The more successful variants on the Zufari theme I come across (especially by places like this without the 'might' of Merlin behind them), the harder it is to understand how Chessington managed to make theirs so monumentally crap.

    Video to Watch!

Saw a guy last week doing this loop thing live on stage, obviously a bit cruder in that environment but it blew me away!

    Logger's Leap

Rubbish. A log flume is a very simple ride that can go on indefinitely as long as it is maintained properly, it's only dying if they let it.
