Track repainting I would imagine is quite costly and, as its Chessington and the age of the ride I can't see it happening - or a retheme

Drayton Manor
People all over social media are up in arms about the fact that Rapids rides have no seatbelt on them but fail to grasp that, in the unlikely event that a boat was to tip over, if you are belted in, your survival chances are significantly lowered. People are also brandishing these rides as dangerous which we know they aren't - what happened at Drayton was a terrible accident and one that cost a young girl her life - it's been reported that she stood up to switch seats with a friend, the boat hit a rock and she fell in the water - now I am in no way saying this child deserved to fall in but at that age they should have had a teacher/helper in the boat - from what I've read, this wasn't the case. Kids don't fully understand the danger of some things - I took my niece and her friend on Rumba when she was the same age as the girl who sadly died and my niece moved to a different seat at one point thinking nothing of it so I had to tell her to stay in her seat unless she wanted to either fall in and either drown or get hit by another boat, or get a Royal boll&€ing from staff who watch the security cameras. Someone should have been in that boat with the young girl and her friends to prevent this accident from happening or at least try - but I can also imagine that what happened was very quick so who is to say that an adult could even prevent it?kids don't generally take notice of safety signs on rides and moving to get out of the way of water was probably a knee jerk reaction which ended in the worst way possible- no one should visit a theme park to never return again and I cannot begin to imagine the pain that her family are going through right now. I also feel for the other kids in that boat that witnessed what happened and were ultimately helpless in being able to do anything.

Congo River Rapids
The waterfalls are the best bit! But I do agree that they will most likely bring them back at some point - at the moment they are obviously ensuring maximum safety after Tuesdays terrible incident at Drayton Manor

Stealth
They probably don't want one of the big coasters down during a busy weekend - during the week the park is a lot quieter so a better option to carry out any work (unless it's urgent work in which case the guests safety comes first and they would obviously shut it) I hope you enjoy your visit to Thorpe Park and that you manage to get on everything you want

Jeez what an idiot teacher! Whether private school or state school, whatever religion of the school I'm pretty sure health and safety procedures are similar - I'm no expert on this but I'm assuming schools do some sort of risk assessment things before any trips - that teacher sounds like an ignorant t@@t and shouldn't go saying bold statements like that - accidents happen and in this case it ended in tragedy - the teacher should probably keep his gob shut or think before he speaks

Fright Nights 2017
My first fright nights was only back in 2013 when CITW was new - it was my favourite maze and that first year I absolutely loved it (apart from having a clown stood right in my face and not moving until I joked that I would kiss him ) It did gradually become a bit samey so I'm not too fussed that it is leaving and look forward to seeing what goes there instead

Lumber Jump
Can't say I'm excited but - well I can't do Detonator anymore and actually quite enjoy those little jump/drop rides - just wish they'd sort out the theming (or lack of)

Timber Tug Boat
I would LOVE loggers to make a return but given its current state I don't hold out much hope. I just don't understand why both rides have been given wood themed names but there is zero wood theming on them

Drayton Manor
Yep it was reported on Daily Mail that the young girl was a Muslim - not quite sure what religion has to do with the fact the poor kid has lost her life - journalists eh?

Drayton Manor
Awful news - whether the child stood up or not, she's lost her life - thoughts are with the family

Timber Tug Boat
Logo reminds me of Loggers - just saying and speculating ridiculously but you have Timber Tug boat and Lumber Jump - could this be a hint at a woodie going on the loggers site? Doubtful but the ride names are very loggy(?!)

Timber Tug Boat
I was just wondering that - are they planks for people to get on and off the ride?! God that video made me feel sad - it's nice they have a ride for younger kids but for goodness sake - it doesn't fit in with the area at all - still can't get over the blue fencing either.....

Colossus
Ouch I feel your pain - I've done Colossus after a cartilage piercing and it hurt like hell - I always laugh at the signs that say to remove large earrings - I have 14 ear piercings and would be there all day but I wear small hoops - I think studs would dig in and hurt a lot. Back to Colossus - I've not actually bothered with it so far this year as the queues have been quite hefty - I went off it a bit last year due to the roughness (weirdly though I LOVE Saw) - by far the worse place for me to sit is at the back - especially after the cobra roll - ouch. Front row is not as bad - I do actually like it but it shakes my brain cell a bit too much

Th13teen
I love Th13teen and would agree about sitting at the back as you do get a nice bit of airtime. I actually like the layout and the twists of the track and I also like how most of the ride is hidden so you can't see much at all while queuing for it. One of the best parts (apart from the drop) is people's reactions - they think that it is the end of the ride, have a little moan then bam! Start screaming and come off laughing - it is definitely in my top 4 faves at Towers and although might be a bit gimmicky with the drop, I think it is a good example that you don't HAVE to have loads of inversions to make a good coaster I would love for them to blow up Rita and expand Th13teen as my only slight issue is that it is quite a short ride - also I kinda hate Rita

Derren Brown's Ghost Train: Rise of the Demon
Went on this again on Monday - still enjoy it a lot but a pair of idiots decided to go out of a fire exit after the live section - which resulted in the ride having to be reset (according to a staff member) - I get that maybe they felt a bit panicky and didn't want to finish the ride but to go out of a fire exit when they could have just spoken to a staff member - frustrating to say the least. Was a bit bored waiting on the train but was at least sat down - and it was quite funny listening to a group of young lads saying how they reckoned it was part of the ride and that something was going to come onto the train(!) Also the end part - do they always have an actual demon (as in someone inside a costume) because I swear I've only seen a projection of one - and admittedly almost soiled myself when this huge demon thing appeared. I still enjoy DBGT but it's not something I would wait ages for - we joined a 15 min queue but were queuing for at least 30-40 mins - then got stuck on the last part so the whole thing took up an hour. I know people do queue a long time for it and as much as I enjoy it, I would rather queue for a coaster which I find more re-rideable. The only gripe I have is that once you've been on it and go again you have to watch the pre-show which I could possibly recite word for word now - the pre show is great for your first ride but does become tedious after a while - an option to skip that part would be great but would probably cause problems with throughput. I do think in terms of the GP you will get people who love it and others who don't but that's to be expected - it won't be everyone's cup of tea but that's life. I love going on and being on a train with people who haven't ridden before because some of the reactions are brilliant and you do hear some pretty fruity language. I think DBGT was a gamble by the park - a huge investment that wasn't a coaster but it brings something very different to the park and it desperately needed a dark ride

Stealth
2 year ban isn't long enough - and they should have got fined for trespassing - muppets. I saw a vid on a FB link earlier and my main concern is that (stupid) people might watch it and think "oh that looks like a good idea" Anyhoo - back on topic - I haven't ridden Stealth yet this season - it's been quite a while that riding Rita a week ago felt really fast
