To refresh an outdated product into something new with some awesome new looking elements so it can be re-marketed. They've been a huge success to Six Flags so I'm not surprised most of the chain is following suit.

So some boxes have arrived to the site. But what do they say. MACK. It's a MACK everybody! What type of Mack though? Who knows. People in the know probably. But still, will be a strange choice if it's a launched like Manta in San Diego... what with Cheetah Hunt just opposite. Oh well, does this mean SeaWorlds new coaster next year will be Mack as well? Like a massive Mack hyper launched thing as they could do with a launch at SeaWorld! This is the main place of site activity at the moment. With footers being sorted already it seems.

Maybe it's the way you were so certain in your post Jamie? I mean "It's an amusement park, it's not supposed to have individually themed areas." doesn't mean it can't. Adventure Island is a jumble of stuff, some trying to be themed areas, some themed rides and some non themed stuff. It looks clumsy the Adventure Inside with a traditional then pirate style (will use that as I doubt it has any physical theming). It's actually very easy to read someone's tone in text once you know the character. You portray your character as one who complains most of the time, then when people don't get your posts you put edits that are more patronising and really don't solve the problem. Petty arguments are fun though please, let's have more (no seriously, no sarcasm there). Anyway, what's AI's Halloween thing like?

It's open everyday but they're advertising the weekdays bit as AI itself isn't open in off peak weekdays

The one by the fire engine was working yesterday as well. The bit between the fire engine and path.

Banned because CoasterDude is right, the Monsters Inc. stuff has gone on long enough. Oozma Kappa here we come! (Well, if you're not banned that is).

Have an update on Thorpe's ornament. It's still standing which is quite something. It has adopted a cherry picker so they might be trying to do something. Oh I know! They're putting all the pieces in those many red bins! But seriously, who knows with this thing.

Proof of the second train as no one has proved it (odd, usually people instantly blame people on here for not proving stuff). Here you can see stacking and two trains. All back to normal for Colossus.

DIGGERLAND IS PROGRESSING WELL!!!!! Before we start, some safety messages Behind the fence there are diggers and ground has been broken! Official construction that means! Still not much going on in the centre though. Honestly. The control cabin must be becoming the queue line shop. JUST KNOCK IT DOWN. One good use for the new building. Won't be able to see Storm Surge from here again. Hole where the rangers will be buried. Official Diggerland digger the orange one is! Here we see the king of the diggers. Because he was the first on the site he now gets to sit on a mound of mud and be the boss. Guess he can't do a worse job than the humans constructing Smiler

I've ridden both and Spiderman still wins it for me! (Tower of Terror is still superb though! They're just both very different rides and I prefer Spiderman)

Island Beats won't come under the evening events thing as the rides on park can be open 9/9:30am-10pm every day of the season. They can only keep the rides open till 11 and Dome open till 3am on so many nights a year which was quite high actually. From the planning thingy they put in Plus, Island Beats is no longer in hours than Summer Nights was and that all worked fine. Maybe they couldn't fit anymore in around Island Beats/Fright Nights that worked for MoS as well as the park. No idea how it all works but the loss of a date won't be due to budgets as you rightly say, they always sell out.

Merlin seemed to jump to the conclusion at first though that it was because Swarm wasn't successful. And if we're going down the attendance route, I've no idea what it was for 2014 but for 2013 that attraction index thing said Thorpe got 2 million but it was actually more like 1.7 million.

You literally just ruined a perfectly good film name. Banter can't be the solution for everything. You should be like banned for real for that. Now ban that member right now or so help me.

Banned for zinging CoasterDude with possible statistics.

So Busch are supposedly building a new coaster, meant to be a Mack coaster going by rumours so construction walls are up and let's just say they've had fun with these. This is what we all look like peaking at WC16 when it's just mud. And this is what the Chessington animals would be like... if they ever built anything worth watching.

The only time the system has hit 140 minutes is at Fright Nights and not even all of them (and that's the parks busiest time). And even then it's not that they don't post anything over 140, they can't! The drop down box goes up in fives from 5 to 140 minutes. The old system couldn't show 3 digit numbers, I remember Colossus being 99 minutes lots of the time.

I'm amazed they haven't had to get planning permission for this (and if they have where has it been hiding?) Legoland is getting something remotely thrilling Hope the people in that farm/house/ building like their new view! It's taller than the trees! They'll just put a lid over it probably in a few years. Oh, and why get the train involved in all this? I loved that thing, but now it's turning pink slowly... hope it is still essentially a water ride! So yay, Legoland is getting something decent and are keeping it quiet from the media. Odd. (Image credit to Guide Park Theme in case you couldn't tell )

The shed actually isn't in the way of access to the dark ride site as it's not on the service road but next to it so I don't think its existence would have been a problem unless they are going to store stuff on that section then transport it over to the site when the park is shut at night. Who knows (project managers hopefully...) As for the train from what I've seen it looks like more track has been removed. Might be a good sign as most of it would need replacing before being reopened. Guess time will tell but I don't see much point in just reopening it.

All this hate on Chessington that it's obviously their fault that Vampire opened 3 weeks late because we have to jump to the conclusion that they started maintenance on it late. Rubbish. All rides get started on at the beginning. Park can't exactly help it if something goes drastically wrong in testing that ruins the system and they have to wait for parts to be made. It's the same with people moaning about Detonator... yet that was open on AP day so the park are just waiting for a part that's failed since it had been open. Again not their fault. You could take your car in for a service and it's fine then the next week your head gasket blows and you don't have a car for a week. Things happen. Whilst we talk about not removing rides, yes it's something you'd not expect to happen but parks still do it all the time and even leave their structure looming over the park for years (boom at least Chessington have a all be it poorly routed open skyway unlike a certain northern park that closed it and left the track and stations for years). Hate on one park, you can hate on them all.

Everything leads to 3 trains working again though that's the point. The new restraints system computer technical section mean less of the restraints will get stuck down (and if they do the new announcement tells you to push your bar in on yourself for it to unlock). The two trains off the track at the moment were both in a similar state on Sunday with the one in maintenance being worked on and the one behind that sitting there with restraints on but not backs/electrics but I can imagine 3 trains by the end of May as 2 is almost imminent. The batcher is a permanent thing now I believe so no more cluttered station. All I want to see is the sign out telling me they're running 3 trains and they'll be loaded and sent in 25 seconds! Those days were the best!

So although Seaworld is still presumably in money doubts and attendance fallings... they are investing heavily at least in Orlando. What with BG Tampa opening a new coaster next year (supposedly a Mack launch or something) and Orlando opening the new sea lion show this year you wouldn't expect much else. But today something was announced... Okay getting the tallest coaster in Florida isn't too hard but still! Many rumours flying around about it but it will be 200ft at least, over 4000ft long and faster than 70mph. It's also the fiercest ride! Rumours circulating: It'll be themed to a shark but the fastest shark (maybe we'll see a Shark Encounter refurb finally!). Hyper coaster by B&M is a strong bet with Seaworld's B&M trend but they've worked with Mack a lot recently and they are probably more financially available. Talks it may also be a launched coaster which might support the Mack rumours more. This image posted by Rob on TowersStreet shows the rumoured area of development and with Shark Encounter middle left on the picture it would work with a overhaul of that area. What with the Nautilus theatre being empty and seasonal now. That area of the park feels like it needs developing when you're in it too! Further details will be revealed towards the end of May, exciting times!

Well there was a set of these... And one of these... So I guess there's the pre show and main ride going in the building My source- Me, I saw it with my very own eyes. Reason for not taking photos- I wanted to go on the rides as I'm at a theme park not an art gallery If I wanted to take photos I'd go to the Tate Modern! (Seriously though, was just a digger looked like this: But it was grey, Merlin grey) I'm amazed a digger sparked so much conversation

Now I know this is huge exciting news so try and keep your hype down.... THERE IS A DIGGER IN THE CONSTRUCTION SITE BY THE WALL OF X!!!! That is all.

Saw the second train today, had an engineer working on it but it currently has no front to it. Hopefully shouldn't be too long though as the tarp has been lifted now.
