  1. This could prove really exciting for the park and with the location of the park, they have potential to achieve quite a lot of activities there.
  2. Currently, the dates between the 14th-21st are best for me as I won't be at uni then. I can however at the moment possibly do all the listed dates except the 8th and 22nd.
  3. 83 is average expenditure I have after spending a day at a themepark.
  4. 3:30 sounds very early for Zufari to close, I was expecting its closure to be more like 4/5 tbh and as for jumbos not being able to operate sufficiently in the dark dazzles me. I don't know why skyway can't operate either.
  5. I think Chessie should start closing again at 8pm for Halloween plus 1-2 hours of night riding at the best of times, still isn't really enough and I expect it will just be getting dark on the days of the 5pm closures. 8pm for chessie is the right closing time IMO because 7pm is too early with not enough night rides and 9pm is perhaps too late for their target audience. I hope they revert back to these in the future. In terms of ride availability, does anyone know which rides (if any) are shut at dusk in the park?
  6. Vortex shouldn't go anywhere for some time, besides its still quite despite not being the best out there and it works at the park as a decent support flat ride to Rush, Detty and Samurai, plus it's pretty reliable too unlike some rides cough 'slammer'cough.
  7. Sounds like it's going to be a very exciting trip for everyone, it's a real pity I'm at a wedding this weekend as I really wanted to come and will likely not be able to visit towers again until next year. Have a good time though.
  8. All I can say is that's typical Merlin PR there. Still it's quite amusing and entertaining like previous ones such as no to Bo and Swarm freshers.
  9. According to someone I know who worked at Chessington this year, train 3 is being stored in a different location from trains 1 & 2 (which I expect 2 goes on the transfer track and 1 waits in the station during open season). They've also confirmed that parts from train 3 have already been used on 1&2, assuming this is true, it could be quite a bit of work getting it back with the new parts it would need.

    Nemesis

Nemesis isn't smooth but it certainly isn't rough and for a ride almost 20 years old, it still runs reasonably smooth. There are rougher rides out there (much rougher) cough 'SLC' cough and I'd like to see how smooth Smiler is when it's 20 years old . In terms of a technical fault with the ride, I can only see lift hill or braking problems being the cause unless they're doing some structural repairs which I doubt is happening.
  11. I'd love to see Ramesis completely reworked for 2014, looking good as new and able to do some exciting ride programs and also improved reliability, not going to happen though.
  12. In terms of the ride, 3 train op is complicated due to the following reasons, 1/ the excessive train braking when they arrive in the station 2/ lower quality staff operations 3/ guests who faff about or have no tendency to rush 4/ more complicated queuing with exit rider and fastrack In terms of Chessington not affording to run 3 trains astounds me, considering they're part of the biggest uk themepark chain as well as being in the top 10 (maybe top 5) most visited uk parks and the rides popular is still the same (if not more) than it has been since its modifications in 2002 and the park should run it on three trains as much as possible.
  13. Probably, but this years one was cancelled just a few days before happening due to their work being behind schedule.
  14. I should be able to make this so please add me to the list.
  15. Its a shame Haloween Hocus Pocus has been cut back in the last couple of years with closings shortened to 7pm last year and now early Haloween days close at just 5pm where it probably won't even be dark yet whilst I strongly doubt you'll get more than 2 rides in the dark on 7pm closings.
  16. Yeah, Stealth's top hat also shakes so technically, the ride is safer shaking a little than not doing so at all while in motion,
  17. I hope the day the Vampire is at the end of its life is the day vekoma make swinging coasters similar to those of the defunct arrow so they can just retrack it. Then, technically it cannot be condemned planning permission.
  18. Ed (nick frost), from Shaun of the dead.
  19. So You're next seems to be a scare zone attraction then. I hope BWP will operate and hope its done I. A way it can distract queues from the others. Will be interesting to see what they reveal on the asylum.
  20. I think a woodie would suit Drayton Ma or very well, even if its just a small scale one. I only hope they have enough ground space for one and that it can be achieved where it doesn't create to much noise pollution, I think the next uk wooden coaster (hopefully we'll get another soon) I reckon will be from a non Merlin park.
  21. Uni depending, Hopefully I will be able to make it.
  22. https://www.facebook.com/ScareTOUR?ref=stream&hc_location=stream Latest update from Scaretours shows the current state of the arena maze and confirms that MBV will be located in the arena. The maze currently looks quite good so far.
  23. A woodie would be a perfect coaster for Thorpe. It provides thrills, speed and airtime which is what the park needs.its a shame mr Varney disagrees though.
  24. There isure is some strange marketing and publicity coming from Thorpe's Facebook page recently and this is the strangest one Ive seen since the roasters post. However if it keeps people's attention to the park, it can only be a good thing.
  25. It's a great shame that these methods such as the covered station and also more shrubbery being added to the ride. Yes it still wouldn't ave been a great ride, but it wouldn't be the embarrassment of a ride it currently is.
