Eh, I'll be satisfied when we get a Mack Mega that's heavilly themed and or has a story. Saying that, who knows if this is the case with this one? Brilliant move from BPB!

From Thorpe Park's Facebook, looks like the scientists (and infected) of Experiment 10 will be first back from the shadows

Might as well rename the place Wild Wongs's Vanishing Noodles for all I care. It ain't no magic act.

...or a repaint

No it wasn't. Tomb Blaster was done by DIC Tussauds, who deemed it "too scary" and "politically incorrect" for the new family market. This bunch were oddly enough the same people who also dreamt up the "hilarity" of ducks and soap for Bubbleworks.

Roughly 30 minutes by road.

Brilliant! Because Chessington just seems to tell tales from the African plains...which is about as entertaining as watching paint dry.

Tomb Blaster is nothing more than a shadow of its former self. What was once two incarnations of a dark ride - both of which told stories throughout - is now a dull shoot-em-up dark ride with no story whatsoever. The closest to which being a confusing plot involving "civilians entering the tomb to attack and destroy" anything infected by an "ancient and deadly" curse. It just goes to show what modern Merlin rides, especially dark rides, are lacking is storytelling, although Derren Brown's Ghost Train definitely has a bit of this. It's funny how I always enjoy Duel. It not only works somewhat as an interactive shooter (who doesn't like their zombie shooter games?? )...but the feeling of it still being a haunted house still remains.

TPM Happy 10th Anniversary Stealth Meet 25th September 2016!

Park opens at 9:30 tomorrow doesn't it?- 114 replies

Well I'm just thinking where that would've been appropriate. The crypt entrance in the queue maybe? Although the white light in those gaps could be there to simulate daylight, so it must've just been in the station somewhere.

Although I didn't go to HoW last year, from every review I've heard about last year, it was only a sign of things to come at Chessington this year.
-
I never got to do it last year so it's a must for me this year! It'll never be the same without Mystery and Hollows though.

...and then the entire area will be a complete cacophony! All rides in the Lost City (bar Colossus) share the exact same music to avoid any clashing. This is assumedly why the area now has a shortened version of the Colossus music playing, because the parts that were cut out are used on Vortex and Quantum; both rides literally having their music blasting out the speakers at full volume, so these parts were cut out to avoid any clashing. Saying that though, I do agree with your point about it being very annoying. What was wrong with the old Lost City ambience I hear you ask? Well I'll have you know I'm asking that exact same question.

Really taken a liking for this track. G-Sides and D-Sides are on my list. My stereo needs this track (although I think that bass riff at the beginning might actually break the speakers)...

TPM Official Fright Nights Meet 15th October 2016
Kerfuffle replied to AJ 's topic in TPM 2016 Meets
I'm a maybe for this one now. I have a driving lesson around early afternoon that day so I can either not make it or just make it at a later time. -
CONCLUSION MADE!!! You may close the thread.

The fact the focus was on the Imperial Leather Bubbleworks and not Professor Burp only made it more agonising. </3

For a while I've been seeing Bubbleworks as a sick animal. After all these years of suffering the time finally came for it to be put down.
-
I've recently started to doubt the rumours of Bubbleworks being the future Gruffalo ride. My explanation can be found here if you're unsure on what I'm on about.

Sorry to change the subject, but it's an idea I just had and I thought I'd share...but apologies if it's been mentioned before. Anyway, obviously we've had the confirmation of a "UK theme park" revamping a "water-based" ride to be themed around The Gruffalo...and as we've seen in recent weeks, everyone's been pointing fingers at Bubbleworks. You seem to have forgotten that another ride has also closed, possibly on the brink of a revamp...and that ride is none other than Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The reason I think this is the culprit is that CatCF is everything you could wish for from a ride themed around a children's book; a slow-moving water based ride with both onboard and offboard audio to go with the themed sets seen by the riders. Bubbleworks however transports riders through the scenes at speed and has ride vehicles not capable of onboard audio. Thus I'd assume Bubbleworks is just not fit for a ride that tells a story at a considerable pace. From this understanding I can only have the feeling that Alton Towers is the park with a Gruffalo attraction incoming...
