That's a pretty decent line up, not amazing but better than a lot of fairs. Do you know if the extreme was 4 or 6 arms as that might help tell which it was
-
I hope that I can get a visit as never been before! I would imagine it would be very busy though. How long are the queues roughly in the peak summer week?
-
Is the wristband offer still on? If so do you know when it ends?
-
I think it's quite annoying but that's English health and safety for you! I just loved watching the people falling over the place. The ride operators would encourage you to stand up and dance and would shake it side to side violently so you fell out! I even think at the prater they let you rollerskate on the tagada
-
Never ridden the tagada but seen it in a fair in Austria. Unfortunately in the UK I think they make you stay seated at all times but in Austria they let people stand up and dance and fall over just watch the people fall off in this video at the fair I went to!

Found this onride at bristol which was giving a really short cycle but hangtime was included! I usually see hang time on videos at the goose fair when it is on 6minute cycles so I was suprised it was doing it on such a short cycle! https://youtube.com/watch?v=fyMQVToiPZM

Well I visited during the peak season of sunscream last year(on the Friday I think and these are the queue times I can remember). Vortex- 90mins Rush- 60mins Samurai- 30mins(was on the shortest cycle ever). Detonator- 45mins Zodiac- 45mins Nemesis inferno- 80mins Colossus- 90mins Stealth- 90mins Saw- 140mins Swarm- 120mins, forwards and backwards. X- 45mins(it got to 2hours when I visited a few weeks back though during school trip season). Tidal wave- 120mins Loggers leap- 60mins Storm surge- 120mins Rumba rapids- 30mins Depth charge- 60mins Okay so what is the point of me listing the queue times? My point is that that week is ridiculously busy. If each coaster is around 90-120mins wait on the virtual queue that is about 1500-2000people queueing per big coaster on their device. That means 10,000 people will be moving to other rides. Let's say there's about 10-15 rides which these people are likely to move to, you are getting about 500-1000 people extra per ride. Maybe you will not get that many but there will be at least a couple of hundred extra. Seeing as the flat rides have throughputs of 500people max it will easily add an hours queue if not more. My explanation is a bit long winded but I hope thorpe see this as if there is no entertainment to suck up the crowds I fear that queues will be overflowing out of the queue lines for the smaller rides.

Sorry just a quick question. For the preview night can you enter with a thorpe park pass or just a merlin one? I got a ticket with a merlin one last year so will be wondering if able to visit. Thanks.

I'm not saying I want an event over the week I just would like to see entertainment to give people something to do while they are waiting. This is simply because I don't want the queues to move directly into the flat rides. Last year vortex was 90minutes and could easily be double if people are queueing for vortex while virtually queueing for other rides. I'm just saying they need entertainment or the flat rides will not be able to cope with the amounts of people on park.

Summer nights is exactly what advertised. I didn't say it wasn't, I just said I would rather go with no queues in July than go during peak summer with 10minute queues. My friend visited last year during August and only got on 10 rides in the 3 hours due to 15minute queues. This year I managed 39rides in 3 hours. I would much rather visit in July than August.
-
Bear in mind this is in PEAK week and will have waits of about 2 hours even on the virtual system. This is why I think sunscream should return as it will mean people have shows to see and things to entertain them while they are queueing virtually. I hope thorpe put some entertainment on otherwise the queues will be moved directly into flat rides making flat ride queues much much longer. Worth a try though.
-
The longest I've ever queued is 80minutes because I plan my day well. I can survive the queues it's just when you have been to an event which has had no queues, the experience is made worse when you have to queue for 10minutes when it was walk in before. I can easily do queues I'm just saying when I pay £15 for an event I want to make the most of it and have it as good as possible.

They are trialing reserve n ride again from 22nd-26th August. As for the band playing that is Thorpe Park resort live which happens every Saturday. It would have been MDNGHT. I think it is very disappointing if it isn't returning as thorpe need more shows and entertainment especially during summer peak seasons. To get rid of all of it is very disappointing especially as they need more things to do while you are waiting virtually on reserve n ride. I hope they will have forms of entertainment around the park in the arena etc. as I will be very disappointed if they don't.

Hi everyone, I was planning to visit thorpe in the busiest week of summer when they are trailing reserve and ride. I was also looking forward to the sunscream event as I went last year and there was some nice entertainment on but it appears that it isn't returning? Can anyone confirm this as it would be a shame to have no entertainment in the busiest week of the year! Thanks to all.

To be honest I find angry birds land a bit of a mess. Seeing as thorpe didn't have distinct lands anyway it just seems a bit like it's placed in the middle of no where. The themeing is OK for what they are advertising but does not fit in with the surroundings of amity cove and the like. I would have personally much prefered that the Dodgems and a new 4d experience created by thorpe with its own themeing were placed into the park. Anyway, it's there now and I only hope that thorpe can expand from it somehow considering amity cove has been broken into two anyway. For any future rides or shows/attractions in the park I would really like the park to stay away from IPs; they already have angry birds and saw and are using LIONSGATE at fright night. I hope thorpe can actually start to create rides out of their own themeing as the themeing tends to turn out much better when it's thorpe's own brand as the IPs have a high level of themeing to them. Saws theme was never replicated by the ride and it's probably the same with the mazes at fright nights. I hope thorpe can start to create their own brands into the park as it would be nice to see some original themes. I hope thorpe continue to expand the way it has been doing since 1996 as the park has been investing every year and at this rate the park can have amazing possibilities to it.

I wouldn't like to attend with 1000 people. There was 200 on the night I visited and that was great, you could stay on the rides as much as you liked. With 1000 there would have been about 5-10min queues considering the rides were only on one train and seeing as I have already experienced the nights with no queues, I wouldn't want to go again during the peak summer. The best option is to visit the event during July and if it is on again next year, I will be visiting in that period once again!

I've always wanted the hang time but never got it. They usually only do it on long cycles but I've never seen or had it . With regards to the superstar, was it a young kid operating as was always concerned if he was old enough and if the ride was safe
-
The operator was on the phone at the same time as operating so he just kept alternating between different cars cycling at the top(3 each at a time). Ovbiously the finale only lasts about 30seconds though at full speed but that's my favourite bit but the thing about it is that it isn't too intense and is quite comfortable compared to other models so rotating upside down at the top for a long time isn't too bad
-
Air at £6 is a rip off... It is the same price at winter wonderland at that is generally priced at much higher. With regards to extreme I always find it great however was on it for exactly 25minutes once which is one hell of a ride time considering it was cheap night for £1.50 at Milton Keynes! Also the mouse I payed £2.50 for so was decent however didn't get much spin and quite a short layout. Nothing compared to the likes of the rollercoasters in merlin parks but what do you expect.
-
Well that's realistic

The throughput would be way too low. Considering rides like samurai with decent ride time and 30people per ride barely hit 500people per hour I would be surprised if amazing confusion even managed the 300pph mark seeing as it has long cycles and only seats 20people per ride. It's all very well trying to shorten the cycle but the amount of time it takes to reach the top would make the cycle long and then you would feel very disappointed only doing one revolution.I reckon if fantasy island was to close thorpe may take an interest but I sincerely hope they do not buy the beast as it will just end up like samurai is currently now as it has been knackered by the park. If thorpe are going to replace samurai, they need to replace it with a new Topscan.

I was watching a video of an indoor spinning rollercoaster called hollenblitz and I thought about how crazy it would be if X span on its way round. I'm not saying it should I just think it would be a cool idea as the rollercoaster itself is relatively boring. Hollenblitz has a mini light show as well as water and fire effects despite being a travelling rollercoaster. The light show on it is no where near as good as X but the ride itself does look pretty cool and got me thinking what X would be like if it was an indoor spinner! Sorry for my crazy idea... I know it's never going to happen I just thought it was a cool idea .
-
Pretty sure that's not the reason... The experience is much worse with the covers and there are very lengthy queues at the wonderground, the queues at the wonderground were MUCH longer than those at winter wonderland and I am fairly sure that is not the reason for the covers.

Stampida at Portaventura is intense and it is ONLY because it is horribly rough. I don't even think saw is rough though it is intense but it is not rough. I have only ever felt the jolt once or twice and it has only been rough at the end a couple of times. I thoroughly enjoy saw as I also enjoy Furius baco, call me mad if you wish but everything about it is great. The themeing may not be amazing but I love the first drop in the dark and the indoor section is thoroughly enjoyable. The lift hill is always really scary for me going up vertically and the first drop is great. The airtime hill and the last section are also very good. You get the most airtime out of any ride in the park(excluding detonator). I really enjoy saw and it is a real crowd puller always having longest queues on park. I don't want it to be removed because I enjoy it and like Furius baco it is a must as it is an experience whether you love it or hate it. Anyway, I don't see the hate on saw, it is very good for a ride in the UK and the public enjoy it.

But it's more likely to rain at winter wonderland and the covers aren't on there? Makes absolutely no sense.
