I agree with this as I kept getting the bottom swings meaning the ride was relatively boring. Last year at fright nights my friend and I were the only two people on it and we had a very long cycle in the dark with a vary of different heights! I hope they can use the fright nights cycle!

The fastrack encourages you to come back though... Even if you didn't enjoy your experienced. They don't want to lose their customers and by giving them fastpass it is a way to try and get them to return. Realistically I think they will continue to use this as a compensation...

Samurai was on a nice settting yesterday and I had three good rides. However, the loading/unloading of the ride was just too slow. The ride was only moving about every 5-6mins as the ride team were walking around slowly doing the restraints. I reckon it could have gone about every 3 minutes if this was done efficiently. However my main problem is the platform numbers. Two times we ended up at different rows because everyone was just sitting anywhere they wanted. I hope they can find somehow a better system for this

Just to clear things up, I've understood that it's been testing but whether it has opened yet is confusing me? I'm visiting Tuesday and I would like it to be open but I'm not sure that I should get my hopes up!
-
Ah, my mistake. I was just thinking if they were in the saw the ride queueline and people were getting hyped and scared and they saw the angry bird... Well I think they would just think it was a bit weird!
-
Is it just me or has this been placed in the SAW QUEUELINE? Sorry if I'm completely wrong but surely that is completely defeating the idea of a ride which is meant to be scary if they are putting a kids theme inside the queue area?
-
It is meant to be a thrill ride though and if it swings low you don't really get a thrill at all? :L
-
I see where your coming from there... Some of my friends have actually said they don't want to get on it because of the reliability and they don't want to get stuck upside down!(I'm not sure if you can get stuck upside down but I don't think it would be very pleasant )

I've done every single ride at thorpe so quite frankly I wasn't planning on returning until fright night as you get the benefit of the mazes and the hours in the dark aswell. The other day I was just casually on youtube and slammer came up on the suggestions! I remembered how much I loved it and wanted to get down to thorpe as soon as it was open. If I'm perfectly honest, despite lots of hate towards slammer it's probably one of my favourite rides ever and certainly in thorpe park. I've done stealth over 50 times and now everything feels a tad more boring to me. Slammer is the only one which I don't seem to get bored of.Unfortunately, it's a pain to run and it always breaks and I can see it going soon. At the moment I'm just doing other funfairs and a few other theme parks but it looks like I'll have to stick to them in the future because I can't see thorpe getting a new slammer Oh and I forgot to mention I probably will be down for the new angry birds land so I hope that all goes to plan
-
Can someone tell me if it's now open? I want to ride it again but don't want to go to thorpe if it's closed. I basically want to go to thorpe just for slammer(sad isn't it but my trips to theme parks have to be less now and I only wanna go if all the rides are open!) I haven't experienced slammer for a year as it's been closed so I was wondering if anyone knew when abouts it would reopen. Many thanks all, James

I've noticed people smoking in queues before(especially nemesis inferno) despite the many signs around the queueline saying no to smoking. I think the park should be stricter on this rule to be honest as it is against the park policy and I don't think it is very nice to have your day spoilt by someone smoking into your face when you have to wait an hour for a ride. Anyway, that's just my opinion but if they have the rules there, I think they should enforce them: of course if they didn't have the rules there it would be a completely different matter as people would be ALLOWED to smoke in queues and there would be no reason to complain about it!

I haven't been myself but hope to get down soon to try it. There seem to be mixed reviews on it so far and if it is decent I hope they keep the effects as by the sounds of things without the effects it doesn't sound like it would be too good! As for the queueline, I hope it is better than before because I remember a couple of year back when I went and I remember the queueline wasn't exactly great! I hope things have been done well as it has been said chessington are off to a nice start this season: I hope this doesn't go downhill! First post in a while eh?

I just hope this angry birds land doesn't divide up all of the existing lands. Thorpe seem to be wanting to get back into their themed lands but if angry birds music can be heard in other lands and the angry birds confuses the park I just can't see it working if I'm honest... I really hope this works at well. I'm looking forward to the angry birds maze on fright nights I also found this... I know it is quite irrelevant but it looks like an amazing concept idea and although themeing on no limits is generally poor, it has been executed well and I think it would go perfectly with the angry birds land at thorpe. Of course, there wouldn't be enough room unless it was on the new island and of course there is already a new inverted coaster I just though it was a nice idea that's all

If I'm right, stealth is just to the top left and isn't in that picture, doesn't that mean that the angry birds land completely separates up amity cove? If it were to be placed there I think it would completely ruin the 'themed lands' which for some reason I seemed to think thorpe were trying to bring back... Especially with the addition of a new 'land'? Didn't someone say something about Pizza Hut contract running out? If they wanted to replace it with the 'merlin brand' they could move it to the Burger King in amity cove as there is another one in Canada creek? Then the Dodgems could replace Pizza Hut and wouldn't it make more distinctive lands? I'm not sure if I'm right about that I'm just trying to think about possible locations...

Are we really in for a worse season than last year? I was hoping for an amazing season with a great performance from Chessington but it just looks like it's going to be the same, poor quality experience as previous years.. What Next? Bubbleworks closed the whole season? Scorpion Valley not opening till 2015? Who knows, I just want them to buckle up and realise that the people that come to their park come for a good experience and people will not be returning if the experience is poor- which it has been for a while now. I won't be surprised if Rameses revenge isn't fixed... If runaway Train isn't open... If Creaky Café isn't redone. I am ashamed of chessington, how long does it actually take to retheme ONE ride!?

Actually going back and thinking about it, I am very concerned for Thorpe at this point. They seem to be way ahead of themselves and what they are producing seems like not very good and mainly over-advertised. I don't think they are really concerned about what goes in the park at all, it all seems a bit slap-dash to me. It seems like they are advertising it as something much bigger than it is actually going to be. Yes, it seems like they are moving towards the family market and I appreciate they are trying to cater for all, but it doesn't seem like they are going to create a quality land which has actually taken thought and time to prepare, it just seems like something to try and get more people to start coming to 'the resort' to me. I think this idea could work really well, however I have doubts that they will do the land up well at all... Also the issue of the VERY late opening. Yes it's only two months after park opening, BUT this means for those two months I regret to say that Thorpe is not going to be a very great place to visit. Constructions fences everywhere etc... it will just make the park look like a mess. It also means, that part of the park will be closed off during the first few months, creating a worse experience; certainly detonator will be closed but surrounding rides(teacups and possibly rumba) may have to be closed as well. This is where I then get concerned at the price rise to £50, especially if they are going to have some of the park closed before May, I don't think they can justify charging that high. My point is, this isn't going to work unless it is themed well and the other areas are themed as well, so there is a distinction when you walk between lands etc. I hope this goes well and I hope it means a better future for Thorpe but at the moment I cannot be sure...

I just hope the dodgems don't have those POINTLESS lap bars like at chessington. They don't even lock... and they just hurt your legs. Although I was in a situation when a lady's dodgem wasn't working and she got out and fell over and nearly got killed, they could at least make them lock. They are the most absolutely unnecessary lap bars ever... if you are going to have bars Thorpe, please make them lock and be COMFORTABLE (:

While I don't like the idea, I think it will fit into the target market and it also shows thorpe are moving back into themeing their lands!! Where are the bumper cars going, where Pizza Hut is by any chance? I'm not very keen on it, but if it does good for the park I will go along with it!
