It is less busy... The throughputs are the things making the queues long. I may be wrong because I visited last year and it may be different but have a nice day either way
-
I did visit about that time last year and the park is packed with school trips and children who queue jump. I don't remember particularly well but I remember waiting 45 mins for the monkey swings just because of school trips. I think vampire went up to 2 Horus and dragons fury and Kobra 90 minutes. Most queues were over an hour until the school trips left when they dropped to about 10 mins(3-4pm onwards for all rides). It is really busy until the school trips leave but then empties out after that. A shame really as these weeks should be off peak and have short opening hours.

Yay all rides open for Sunday

I'd like to revert back to a point I made earlier and as to why this years summer nights are going to fail: Exclusive ride time between 7PM AND 10PM: Seeing as the gates close at 7, and the park is going to be busy during summer, you still have at least 30 minute queues waiting to get on the rides, this means that summer nights holders will have to queue behind these people and wait to ride. It won't work.

2xtreme is still in dubai along with TopBuzz 2 and take off with a couple of others. It is still under the ownership of Walter murphy but is rumoured to not be coming back until 2015 at the earliest due to it staying longer in dubai than originally planned. However, if it does return, which is unlikely, it will be back in time for hull and a couple of fairs around then.

Was gonna ask this myself, I would like to know as might be visiting this Friday!

Just going back to the Airmaxx, some of you have been asking me if I can find out where it will be touring as 2xtreme is no longer in the UK(at global village in dubai) and it is now the ONLY mondial capriolo in the UK. I can confirm that it is currently touring in England at the moment as I have contacted the matthews family and hope to be able to provide all of those enquiring a line up of where it will be going. The family themselves own quite a few funfair rides including; a tivoli remix extreme orbiter, a kmg freak out, a jump and smile, a crazy mouse rollercoaster as well as others which are currently touring. The family tend to go to festivals, whether it is a music or a balloon festival etc. you tend to find them there. However, I have contacted them and will be hoping to get you the touring dates to all of you who wanted them. I will edit my posts when I have dates below: Sonisphere Festival- 4th-6th July at Knebworth Park.

I do not earn money or anything from it and I do it purely for fun and would appreciate if you could take a moment of your time to subscribe! I will also do updates of the new videos and will embed them into my posts when I upload a new video to my channel! Many thanks to all and I'll leave you with one of my videos of a wild mouse rollercoaster I hope you enjoy it and please subscribe!

Still operating or has it broken down again?

I'm not acting over the top I'm being serious.. I went on the big wave in Austria. It was a ONE lap are for the whole row and it was WAY higher than anyone on the row. It went on for about 10 minutes and I swear I was going to fall out and die. I'm lucky I'm still alive not joking. It's an utterly stupid ride, even if it did feel safe, which it doesn't, it is EXTREMELY boring doing the same motion over and over. Such a pointless ride.
-
Not suprised to be honest... Miamis are actually the most disgusting ride ever invented. Why create a ride in which you feel like you are going to fall out and die? I've ridden it once, never again its pure torture. Miamis should be banned for eternity they are disgusting.
-
It's actually way more fun than it looks! When you're actually riding it, you don't have a clue where you are actually going, you just get thrown in all directions and hung upside down etc. It actually looks much worse from the outisde than when riding it but it is an amazing experience.

Thought I would share a little video of a ride I rode yesterday at a small funpark near me. This ride barely ever goes to the big fairs and sticks to the small funparks but is certainly one of my favourite rides I have ever ridden! It is certainly a bit boisterous as you get whipped round the sides a bit and hung upside down for ages(feeling like you are going to fall out) but it was truly an amazing experience! Here is my little video(sub my youtube channel ) Hope you enjoyed it's the roller

The payment is made over the phone and you collect the tickets at the normal collection place on the day. The payment card/merlin pass needs to be present when collecting the ticket. Hope this helps

Awfully confused at this now. Thorpe have changed summer nights to 7pm-10pm instead of 7:30pm-10:30pm. I can't understand this as during the summer holidays there are at least 20/30min queues at 7pm. Doesn't this mean there will be a massive confusion between summer nights pass holders and non-summer nights? It also means that people who are at summer nights are gonna have to wait for ages for their first rollercoaster. Seems like a weird way to continue this seeing as it worked so well last year...

I see where your coming from with the whole idea of the Spanish but I just meant that I was hoping hours could be increased.I visited in sunscream week last year(will not be doing this again), the queue times were: Flying fish- 30minutes!!! Swarm- 120mins forwards/backwards. Saw- 150mins Stealth- 100mins Tidal wave- 120mins Loggers leap- 60mins Colossus/nemesis- 90mins Rush/vortex- 90mins I'm just trying to say it does get riduculously busy in the summer holidays so I do feel that the hours should be increased. I also visited fright nights and saw alive and other mazes went up to 2/3hours straight away(although this was mainly down to the horrible 3 groups fastrack to 1 normal queue ratio).

I am going to port aventura in the summer and I truly realised how bad thorpe's opening times are. We are going in july(a 10-6pm day at thorpe) and will get the park for 3 days at opening hours of 10-midnight. I'm not saying thorpe's hours should be that long it just proves how short they are actually open. In the middle of the summer, they are open from about 10-2am/4am. I must agree that port aventura is much bigger but I would like to see the opening hours continue to increase at thorpe because they are very short... In summer when there are 2 hour queues on the coasters at thorpe you can only get on about 4 rides.
-
I could definately see the system working on fright night for the horror mazes. My only issue with that is that because they are open at 3pm(or later) they will all be booked by about 11am meaning that people who come later on will only be able to go into the mazes late into the evening. As for the scare maze queues not moving, that was purely down to fastrack. Thorpe were absolutely ridiculous and I am horrified at the fastrack ratio they did when I visited. They were letting about 3 groups of fastrack for 1 none fastrack which made the queue not move and absolutely horrendous.

People complain about health and safety rules these days in general but they are there for a reason. In the UK, the restraints/ride team members MUST always be behind the gate or in a secure area where there is no possible point where they can be hit by the ride. Once the ride has stopped, they are then allowed to move and load/unload the ride for the guests. This video just stresses how dangerous these rides can be. I hope the man is OK and is recovering and I hope general safety rules for funfairs tighten up as these problems can happen over and over. A lot of funfair rides even have potential(shake and breakdance) to hit the spectating guests, especially if they are messing about. I really hope safety rules tighten up as I would hate to see this happen to anyone ever again

Cheers once again. I will be going in a month of so and will hopefully be able to supply a trip report for you all when I get back! Thanks for everyone who helped

I didn't really mean it in that way, I just meant it as a 'quick question' in the first place so wasn't expecting a whole discussion over it I haven't really contributed to this topic but I have been following it and I do agree with what the majority are saying, I think it is good for the park to trial these as they will give the park a feel for how it works but I wouldn't like it see it a permanent feature, by all means it is a good fastrack replacement. My reasons for this are like others have said, there is nothing to do at thorpe but rides. If you make everyone queue virtually, then all those people are just going to queue for the other flat rides. On a busy day at thorpe you are getting 2hour+ queues on the big coasters so if it were made a permananent feature, all of the flats would be getting at least 3 hours(they are usually 90mins anyway on a sunscream). It would simply just not work. There is no physical way to make a queue less park, especially not for thorpe at this stage. There is no where to direct the potential 10,000 guests who are virtually queueing except to other rides. It wouldn't make your ride count higher, it would just be the same or less than it was with normal queues. Until thorpe get shows, entertainments every day etc. I don't think thorpe can physically proceed with this after trails unfortunately.

Oh how I love that my quick question topic has become a massive argument! Such fun

Thanks all for your help We are staying in one of the hotels so would we have to book the express pass in advance or could we do it on the day depending on how busy it is?
-
Hi, this is very useful information. We have already booked our hotel stay and are staying for 3 days I think. What do you think the queues will be like? I am used to waiting quite long at thorpe park etc. is it €50 euros for all 3 days on the express pass btw or just one? Thanks!

Sorry slight confusion from my part there. I didn't mean to be pedantic and my thoughts that the two were the same thing could have been incorrect. Sorry I just wanted to make sure everyone was on the same page!
