  1. if blaire witch is a large area (which I guess it will be considering the scare night thing with crash pad requires them to stay there for a few hours with surely enough space and things to do), then it will take a lot of people, and might not possibly increase queues by much!?
  2. went on 3 times today... notable jolts, regardless of which row you're in are on the first inverted drop, and the last inversion in the staffordshire knot - although I personally didn't find it too bad, you could hear people shouting ouch! Had row 2 once, and row 4 twice (have been on front row in my past visit) - I didn't notice it on the front row or second, but on the back row the last bit of the first indoor inversion is a complete mind **** I genuinely thought I was upright and still had some more of the inversion to go, really added to the ride - shame there was no mist or smoke at all! with the aid of the smiler, brought my going upside down count up to 66 for the day haha!

I really couldn't stand the break sections..... I should be used to it with riding coasters, but really got scared it wasn't going to stop and would go back the other way into the track! wouldn't mind them trying the new X backwards now - it wasn't the backwards I didn't like....
  4. unreal day today, would go as far as saying my best day at a theme park ever... Nemesis x4 The Smiler & Sonic Spinball x3 TH13TEEN x2 Rita & Oblivion x1 amongst doing most of the other rides as well! After nemesis being closed pretty much all day, they managed to open it back up at park closing time (which they didn't have to, but did all the tests and everything especially for the few guests waiting in hope), and stayed open til about 25 past 5, which I managed to get in 4 rides - so good on alton for getting the ride open... Heard the smiler had one small bit of downtime, but queues were peaking at 30 mins... and at one point while in charlie they were announcing smiler had less than a 5 minute queue - I didn't believe it when I seen it on the queue board a bit before that!
  5. nemesis seemed to be open in the morning and when I got there before midday was closed - was absolutely gutted, but just out of sheer luck decided to go back to see if it had opened right at the end of the day, and the staff were saying it's fixed, just need to run the necessary tests which take a considerable time, and they managed to get it open bang on closing time (5pm), but kept it open for at least another 20 mins... managed to get on 4 times (2 front and 2 back in that time) - actually made my day considering I was so upset it was originally closed haha. good on alton as well for persisting to keep it open, and very odd for nemesis that it almost had a full day of downtime! (apparently due to power fault)!
  6. I probably meant September... My bad no wonder why they weren't working in December haha!
  7. I went tuesday 10th of december and never seen it working then... best be back for fright nights especially in the dark!
  8. it's vekoma... so what do you expect with questionable things (wasn't it arrow though, or did it change because of the modified trains by vekoma?)!
  9. just a bit worrying considering they have only got a week and a half to go til they start fright nights!..
  10. I'm guessing that would include the overnight stay in the crash pad as well with tickets for the theme park, so not too much more expensive... and you don't actually camp as you go back to the crash pad, but looks like there will be things going on for a few hours in the scare zone area for people to experience which will differ from the normal walkthrough...
  11. thorpe don't even have a proper hotel or resort status... and they are more of a resort than any of the other uk theme parks! this is thorpes best year for a long time with all the improvements and little things they've been doing - can't wait for the best fright nights yet, and the future of the park in general!
  12. Enjoy the rides from 10am right through to 10pm on Fright Nights dates. does that mean the rides will definitely be open til 10pm, and not 9 with the possibility of opening up til 10? Mazes start from 3pm and run right through to 10pm - that's an hour longer than last year. I thought the mazes were only open from 4-9pm last year... which would make an extra 2 hours, not one? The Blair Witch Scare Zone is open from 6pm - 10pm. And this proves the fact that the scare zone needs to be done in the dark as it is outside or contains outside scenes, although we already knew this, just not the opening time.
  13. there just has to be something in the 4d cinema now... like a saw movie bites style thing, but with bits from the films which feature in the fright nights!? the opportunity to have something in the 4d cinema when the fright nights has a background story like this is too good to miss!

I don't mind when there's lot's of lights which mean you can see the ride... as long as if there is lot's of smoke it looks cool either way - I really enjoy this ride, and can't even count how many times I've been on it this year now - it is different everytime with the music and light show, way better than no way out!
  15. well I guess it was designed that way, as the breaks don't slowly stop but suddenly stop... so if it was left to roll and pick up speed into the last break in the correct place in the station, the sudden stop would be either impossible at that faster speed, and very painful - I think I've answered my own question haha!
  16. it makes the customers feel like their valued, and thorpe want them to help and be part of it...? either way I think it's cool if people actually bother to do it
  17. it's rather amusing watching everyones faces when the restraints come down - and the reality hit's when you realize how much it's crushing you yourself - it wasn't too bad, but the last 2 visits the ride ops were pushing everyone's restraints right down as well - major crush!
  18. I'm guessing so... I don't see the point in it having to come to a complete sudden stop like 3 times before reaching the correct place in the station?
  19. I've been on a fairground circuit one at Funderworld called Top Buzz a couple of times, and it's run on such an intense setting, it doesn't become fun because it feels like you're being dragged sideways out the seat, whist forcing yourself to try and keep your legs in, as it hurts letting them fling outwards (well it hurts either way) - and actually prefer samurai on a tamer setting... but admittedly since riding it for the first time in 2009 when it was amazing, it has got worse every year unfortunately :/
  20. Synkope at Terra Mitica, has to be one of my favourite flat rides, and the best 'spin and swing' style ride I've been on... a bigger version of maelstrom! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGWPf_rOy2M
  21. Thanks... Managed to find a special offer through Thomas cook, 740quid for 4 adults with coach transfer, 3 nights in Santa fe B&B and 2 day park hopper tickets which I thought was a bargain compared to looking on the Disney site 300 for hotel and tickets for 2 people, then you have to work out getting there etc!

  23. hopefully booking up tomorrow to go 4th december with two days in the park (5th & 6th) staying in the Santa Fe hotel for 3 nights... just wondered if there was anything anyone would say to put me off going, considering I have never been, but have been to florida back in 2005 when I was 11! or the fact that I should be booking it anyway, what I could expect busyness wise and any tips etc. thanks
  24. I really enjoyed it this year for some reason, have personally never highly rated it either, but on my first 2 visits found it great... now, since it's not running properly it's just terrible :/ EDIT: I read the info plaque on one of the legs on the ride, and swear it read max angle: 120 degrees... on my last visit it struggled to reach a 90 degree angle - c'mon vortex!
  25. I thought raptor looked good - think this might top it!
