not sure whether it's just my internet settings, but don't seem to have the issue with any other websites... is when I click on a link on the forums it replaces the page with the link, so after looking through whatever is on the link, am having to close it down or keep pressing back which is somewhat annoying haha - anyone else get this problem?

I didn't expect to win anything haha... just some jealous people I work every weekend so couldn't really do any meets, hopefully may be able to make time this year (not that it has anything to do with the 2 people I mainly went with deciding they no longer want to go because one has motion sickness and says it's getting too much and the other can't afford it after moving into a new flat aha)... still nice to contribute alot on the forum though

with my new merlin pass... thorpe, alton towers and chessington several times is a must, hopefully summer nights (at thorpe park) halloween events and especially fireworks (at alton towers - best theme park day of 2013 by far)! drayton manor fireworks were really good so would like to go back for that... and should be visiting the area for a weekend in may so will make a trip or two then. wouldn't mind going back to oakwood, although the after dark event was really good, just found it far too busy, so would hopefully like to try a normal weekday (if it's open). I was hoping to go 2013, but never had the time (or friends with funds) to get round to it - and that's flamingoland... never been but looks a really great park - though a 4 and a half hour journey not so great. was supposed to be going disneyland paris last month, but the trip got cancelled by thomas cook - so wouldn't rule out trying to get there this year as I have never been, and need my disney fix if I can't go florida! So many other smaller parks in the UK with some really cool looking rides would love to visit, but just seem too damn far to warrant going, like pleasurewood hills, lightwater valley & fantasy island! doubt for 2014, or even if I'd ever go... but realistically would love to go back to florida sometime in the not so distant future (once back in 2005 definitely is not enough). port aventura is one I've never been and would love to go especially as it's set in a tourist resort with other waterparks etc. would like to go back to benidorm to go to terra mitica - used to go pretty much every year, but haven't managed to go since 2011 (and then 2008 before that)! after reading these topics and seeing new rides and developments, would also (and keeping it realistically) would love to visit gardaland, heide park & europa park! I've ended up going to turkey for the last 4 years as it's so cheap (but it only has a few small waterparks - nothing special), as the euro is so dear doesn't seem likely I'll get to any of these! :/

is that drayton manor though... what's the circus looking tent below the coaster layout? never seen that before...

anyone done the Mitch Hawkers wooden coaster poll and put your votes in for the blackpool ones!? I did vote Megafobia and Magnus Colossus (Terra Mitica - Spain) over the BPB ones though... that's about the only wooden ones I've ridden besides gwazi at busch all the way back in 2005 which I just remember coming off with a headache!

To be fair you're a sucker if you pay full gate prices anyway, so I guess the increase doesn't make too much difference, I can just imagine there being a lot more 2 for 1 vouchers and that way thorpe are making a bit more money with the price increase but people paying half price will feel it less - also nice to see they're keeping online prices down I had a thorpe annual pass til july, but got a premium merlin pass now - gonna save a fortune on parking - 100% worth it with how much they like to charge for parking!

this event is clearly unfortunate though, and I'm sure guests would understand... but for majority of other stuff that's happened this season chessie should probably get the blame for.

they posted on their Q&A on twitter today that they're working hard to get it reopen for 2014...

and dragon falls retheme... and that's probably all they'll do - we're lucky enough to get this as it is haha!

it's the only 'thrill' ride as such... and the only one that goes upside down at that, at the park (more times than ripsaw at alton towers - that's why I love it so much). visited chessington 3 times this year with it breaking down a few days after my first visit... glad I got on it, as I do love the ride, but wasn't the end of the world when it wasn't open on the other two visits - but definitely would love to see it return!

when you say busy... I think nemesis was open at the half term event this year - do the big thrill rides get big queues on these events?

I won't let it get the better of me (although gets very close)... as I love rides so much!

I get quite claustrophobic, and am worried of breaking down and being trapped in for long period of time... the worst ride happens to be one of my favourite rides - Colossus. I don't mind rides where my legs are free, but sit down (not floorless obviously), can really make me worried... once I'm up the lift hill, I'm fine. fortunately (and touch wood), I haven't really experienced a proper breakdown, although being stuck on detonator for about 5 minutes started to get the better of me!

I've only really queued when I went on it the first time last year in easter holidays, so didn't mind the annoying TV screens as it was all new for me... but barely queued for it since then, and half the time the TV's aren't working properly anyway... but yeah haven't heard the sound effect working this year at all... really added to the overall experience of the ride in my opinion whether it be actually on the ride, or in the queue!

the swarm is built on an island with no landscaping and not built under ground level, so it's hard to create as immersive themeing as the other merlin wing riders... although it does seem there is a lot more effort being put into the other ones abroad!
