  1. I think you have missed the point. What I was describing is standard queuing.
  2. Lets hope they have changed the way it works to you go up to the ride you want to ride and you stand in a queue for it. However the queue can become long so you have the option to go stand in another queue which could be shorter.
  3. Wasn't altons system paper based. Which I think should raise the question in why did they stop it. I think that the main reason it was stopped is because it didn't work. The only thing that has changed between now and then is that the paper has become a smart phone.
  4. Disney beat thorpe to it. Thorpe tried to be first but how could they compete with the budget of disney. Anyway disney is global thorpe is south east england. I dont think either should be worring too much about each other.
  5. Nothing could grab the public attention more than the phrase "queue-less park". The only problem I have with it is that it is a complete lie and rnr saves you no time at all however I think that rant is for another topic.
  6. Apparently its going to be 8 seats with 3 row trains and stand 223ft tall along with 4 inversions.
  7. I'm already against the layout. It looks so dull and I don't imagine it will be too forceful either. The name just rubs salt into the wound.
  8. Ha ha ha ha ha. Disney beating name right there. 2 old ones put together with a new theme. Great original naming from the magic makers.
  9. They are still about the drop, it's just they have something decent after them. Focusing on the drop is good but I prefer there to actually be something to the ride.
  10. True but according to the source the rumour has come from a memo off of B&M.
  11. Rumours have it that cedar point are getting a $15m B&M dive machine for 2016 on the site of the recently demolished thearter. The source seems to have some fairly good evidence so we may see a new proper (the 10 seat ones, not the cheap 6 seat) dive machine soon.
  12. They would be foolish not to add something. The fungle spot wont see a new ride until after 2016 as its being used as an access point for construction. I think we will see something new, with merlins may opening obsession they still have time to make it. If not we are just seeing a year where their main advertisement is "queue-less park".
  13. Its not a laser ride. Why would merlin spend £12-25million on a laser ride when you have 2 within an hour of the park. Also I (that person your referring to is me btw) did get a tad confused on the building height. Got 2 rides mixed up which is why I said 18m. However AVG's struggle a lot with changes in height as they are generally heavy and slow moving. They are able to go up and down inclines but it does have consequences. Now ive refreshed myself with the plans that building could contain anything with any sort of theme. I will agree on one thing though, it looks very hunger games like at the moment. And yes the 2018 was about the hotel and the MTDP.
  14. The 18m is true as the highest point of the building is 15m and the pit is 3m. AGV's don't do height changes very well and why would they get a laser ride with 2 near by. They also don't cost £12+m. It will be some sort of track based ride which suits first thrills while telling a story at the same time.
  15. Isn't that what Thorpe do best? Got to play to your strengths.
  16. SF great adventure doesn't need 2 days. One thing to be careful of is if it rains then most parks just close everything. Cedar point if your wanting to get on all the coasters you will need 2 days. Also america is huge. It will take hours to drive between each park and after a day of running around a park it may not be something your wanting to do. I would suggest pacing it out a bit more. Otherwise at the end of day 21 you will be dead. What you could do is hire a camper van that way you wont need to pay anywhere near as much for accommodation. There just a few ideas. But my main tip would be is check the distances between each park as I think you will find that they will take longer to drive than you think.
  17. It all depends on how many people are going and how many people will do what according to Thorpe. There may well turn out to be a need but will the need justify the cost.
  18. They will both be ready but it "saves energy" to only run 1. Also its unlikely 2 trains will be needed and running 2 raises running costs.
  19. Well the overall day wont be bad. I doubt it will get the queues people are claiming it will. The only problem I have with it is justifying £5 to get to half a park when I could wait a little and get it for free. End of the day I doubt you will feel ripped off it is £5 after all. I just don't like the idea of it.
  20. I didn't mean it seriously. It would be one hyped up drop tower. I think its an AGV based ride. Lots of things you can do with that and they are easy to run efficiently.
  21. God please no. Please don't let it be a crappy drop tower.
  22. Premium pass has value. Devaluing standard is not the way forward. There meant to make premium better. Simple as that. It just damages themselves making standard worse to make premium better. It splits the standard pass people into 2 groups. Those who will upgrade and those who dont want to upgrade (e.g cant afford it for a family of 4) and as a result get annoyed. Its a bad business practice as it annoys customers. Adding exclusive ride nights for premium would be so much better and would encourage so many more sales while at the same time standard wont get annoyed.
  23. The ride offering isn't exactly amazing at the moment and the weather could be terrible as you have to prebook. Also £5 is an absolute rip off. I would advise just waiting 3 weeks and go when everything is open and free to get into. Unless the open season is now an event.
  24. There is a lot more things to consider to see if it has depreciated for reasons like you said. However I think over all the value has gone down.
