The insulting reward to all our commitment - RCT4
Project LC replied to pognoi's topic in RCT/No limits/Minecraft etc
According to the media that trailer is about 8 months old. Which would make sense given its rather alpha like state appearance. The graphics to me seem worse than rct3 back in 2005. -
Its not the POV bit they will care about, its the "they saw me with it". Staff training tells them no recording equipment (loose articles) of any kind. Thorpe are going to make sure that is enforced as a future incident could end very badly for them.
-
Winter maintenance cant be half completed. Its either done or it isnt. Just because something is on low capacity doesn't mean that the other trains are not done. It could be down to staffing, or maybe that the ride needs to run in a certain mode for a bit to train staff. It sounds like X and Colossus could just be set to manual hence the lack of trains and slow dispatch. Slammer is one very complex ride filled with problems, if you were expecting that to be completed in the short time it had then you must be very optimistic. Rush is clearly waiting on something could be something from S&S to do with the cables and the cedar point incidents. (Thats not fact thats just some speculation) Samurai is getting old and something must have come up hence it wasn't operating. Tidal wave is waiting on a pump or something like that as the old one broke. Quantum and Rumba I have no idea what is wrong with or could even being to say what could be up with them however they will be working on them. They are not exactly the most complex of rides and them being closed isn't going to ruin your day.

I think you have just managed to get the whole X staff team in trouble. Thorpe park do read this thing you know.
-
You must obtain permission and considering how Thorpe never seem to grant permission. Thorpe must have their health and safety officer clear it.
-
Guests would like the problems fixed but it takes time and the guests are expecting an instant solution. So priority passes are given out to compensate for the problem and encourage you back. It costs Thorpe nothing to give them out apart from printing costs so business wise they are a good choice. The problem with VIP passes is that everyone in the main queue ends up hating the pass holder. I'm going to be honest here and say I don't care how much someone has paid there should be no option to use fastrack unlimited times, regardless of if that's a VIP pass or not. With the system they have it should not be an option. If fastrack worked like Cedar Fairs fastlane then I would understand VIP pass holders having that perk but we don't have that system and I doubt merlin would ever change to it because it would loose them a lot of revenue. Merlin need to pick a ratio and stick to it by making the batchers count instead of trying to keep the fastrack queue empty. Fastrack is reduced waiting not instant boarding as many like to think, including the staff themselves.

Those towers are support frames for work around slammers columns. They are there so engineers can inspect and work on it. I take it slammer is being slammer and hence why the scaffolding is still up.
-
True people would still be buying fastrack but they are not going to be buying a fastrack that lets them use it over and over again.
-
Going to have to disagree there. I'm very anti the premium and standard pass thing, VIP is just a whole new level. Multi tier systems shouldn't exist. If they are to exist then the pass above should be made better without affecting the one below it. Something Merlin has not done.
-
The VIP passes are just a mistake from merlin. They shouldn't exist. They just annoy guests. I was unaware of people getting rerides, just the unlimited fastrack was annoying enough but if I was a guest and someone tried to reride I would put up quite a fuss.
-
The imrovements done are good but they are standard and should have happened anyway. I'm not going to knock them for it but I'm not going to say well done either.

Sunday the 15th is mothers day. Very Very quiet normally but as its opening weekend it may be just a little busier than a normal mothers day. If I had to guess everything below 20 minutes providing everything is on 2 trains.
-
I wouldn't go as far to say merlin are wonderful. There are still many things they could be doing better (get rid of VIP for one). However for the time being it would seem Thorpe have done a good Job.
-
As its just the bolts probably something maintenance did. I don't think they would try a test coat of paint now seeing as their next chance to paint it will be the end of November.
-
I was talking as if you still had all 8 rows. The loss of a row if it isn't because of easy of moving will be to try and lower the G force's. Along with the problems of station design.
-
The weight of the train and the coefficient of friction would be the same backwards as it is forward. The only change is the centre of mass would be moved ever so slightly, not enough to make a difference. I'm not sure why the backwards train has one less row, I'm assuming it's so it can go to any six flags park. However Nemesis backwards would be possible and in theroy still have all of its rows.
-
Really it requires a whole new train? I just assumed it was simple as six flags kept changing them round. Lets just ignore everything I said then.
-
It would provide something new for thrill hunters at a relativity low cost. This does seem to be very much just a rumour. Only turning 1 train around would cause chaos in the station so that alone I don't think they would do it. Also if you were going to do that, they would have advertised it a bit more. No point in adding something new if you don't tell anyone.
-
Personally I just think its a thing to say nemesis is 21 years old. Sit back its fright time is just its original slogan. Then again why would they have coming soon in the picture.
-
Well to run it backwards I think it would have to be the whole train rather than select rows. Not sure on that but I do believe that is the only way they can do it without having to build new custom parts.
-
Well it is a simple conversion to run the trains backwards. It doesn't need major new parts made like swarm did. I doubt they will run it backwards though, however I guess it is possible.
-
It's annual pass day. Everyone got in for free. Not much room to complain. No where near the complaints they would get on a normal day.
-
The lack of work in that area at feb doesn't support the idea. No matter how much I wish it was true.
-
Are they fools? If people still pay it and it doesn't generate complaints then really it was a sensible move. However £60 does strike me as the point where people just won't bother.
-
Service just doesn't seem the right word. I'd say 1 train operation but it's not like it matters. Its just how people say things. As for not enough time to strip the trains. That is a complete lie. Yeah they are complex, but if they wanted to they could have had full capacity going. Not that it was needed. Other parks manage it as does Thorpe. Just because they are running 1 train does not mean the other isn't ready.
