  1. All of these survival (torture) attractions really don't do anything for me! I can see why people love them, I really can, but I think I prefer to be told a story and be scared whilst having a laugh.

I almost chickened out on Face it Alone so I doubt I'd even go near McKamey  Manor is the event Josh just posted :P

  2. Hi there. I'm Katherine, and I'm a huge coaster enthusiast with a love for Nintendo games. Some of you may know me from The Creator's Lounge, as that's the RCT3 site I mainly use. I'm 18 and from the South. So I live kinda close to Thorpe. Nice to meet you all. :)

Loves Disney and is from the south! I can relate :P

  3. I hate it too, Mark, although I completely agree with you that it's exactly what they needed!

A park where this sort of ride works. Thorpe should never have got saw as it is. The low throughput just isnt what the park needed. The woodie or even just another steel coaster would be far better, instead of the disappointment of the short, painful unreliable peice of junk we have now.

It's not even that short, compared to Swarm and Stealth at least. Plus I don't know what the throughput is exactly, but whenever I've queued for it, I thought it went down at a reasonable pace! Might just be me though...

  4. Had to get my cat Snowball (original name I know) put to sleep this morning. I knew it wouldn't be easy but it's really hard to deal with as I'm sure many of you know from experience.

Poor little thing hadn't eaten in 3 days, couldn't walk or swallow, but he still loved being next to somebody for company and cuddles! Sad to see him go after 10 whole years of fun but at least he went peacefully and with his dignity!

    Miss you snowy :(

  5. Uh I didn't think it was the same building, but thanks for backing me up.

I was just a nonce and posted that here because I thought it looked similar to hansa's, and with the whole thing going on about 'ew concrete tower gross no theming ew' I thought I'd back it up with that, because if lots of parks are doing it (as we have already gathered) then it clearly can't be bad.

Oh ok, misunderstanding on my part too! ;) I think it'll be interesting how the two compare in terms of smoothness and generally enjoyment, given how similar they both are!

  6. Gotta hand it to those Mormons, but why is it in the Hansa Park topic?

Little misunderstanding on toofpikk's part, nothing to get upset about haha...

They do look very similar though so it's an easy mistake. I think the one at Hansa will have an enclosed drop, and that weird double-heart thing afterwards!

Oh and I'm not sure if it's been posted yet, but (what I assume are) the evacuation stairs have been installed! :)

  7. ^ Can I ask why it doesn't make sense for Efteling?

This ride is highly themed, it follows a fantasy-style narrative and it quenches the park's thirst for another thrilling coaster since the last one was Python! I think it's kinda perfect tbh, especially how they've managed to soften the impact of the B&M track on the rest of the park using the theming on the highest point! :)

I do completely agree that the thought that has gone into this is fantastic!

  8. I think it's also based on the fact that, on Christmas day in WWI, both sides ceased fire and played football(Sorry if I'm being patronising)! Guess it's showing how Christmas brings people together etc. it's quite an apt advert for this year I think. Why not incorporate remembrance into a Christmas ad?

I think that's why I personally don't like it! Because it did actually happen! I think the advert is well shot and the acting is definitely decent, however because it's trying too hard to be emotional, I don't find it sad?

If that scene was in a movie, I would probably be moved!

  9. I think it's slightly odd to take something like that (which actually happened) and twist it to advertise. I know it's not showing anyone dying, but I think it's weird.

The John Lewis penguin advert is fab though <3
