  1. Their return to their entrance music is as powerful as towers using their towers street music.

It's just different, but that doesn't mean it's awful. It'll stick in peoples minds too.

But yes something classical they can adapt like towers has with ITHOMK would be good. Steal Drayton's.

  2. You'll be bloody paid for the time you spend working.

And yes, if there's a queue at the end of the day you work it. And then you clean afterwards. and then you debrief, and then you go home.

Thorpe park is (luckily) not mingo, you won't see ride staff walking home 5mins before ride closes.

  3. You can just tell from it all that it'll be stress, confusion and lead to worst off satisfaction scores than if you just left it alone.

The best option, and the only real options are:

    Build high throughput attractions

Ensure high throughput attractions are getting the high throughputs

Direct guests or persuade them to use the high throughput attractions (advertise heavily the short queues/have high fastrack and low pricing points to persuade guests)

Have entertainment in the queuelines for attractions without high throughputs (if you can only allocate funds to certain queues that is).

Done. You can never remove a queue.

  4. . But I have on many occasions, when having conversations with friends and family, the two rides which regularly crop up as truly scary rides are Detonator and Slammer; with many saying that Slammer looks too much for them.

I'd put that down to approximately half of all guests on Slammer having been stuck on it, and the others hearing about it through word of mouth.

Plus, that god awful noise on that video! Christ that'd be enough to put me off too!

  5. It adds an interesting experience.. cos obviously not every guest who visits the theme park will get to ride The Swarm on the day, however with this booking system it'll make people want to (potentially every single person on park) meaning that the timeslots will automatically fill up.

Still unsure how it pans out, do they "oversell" to compensate for those people who book and not turn up because it's in 3hrs time, or what?

Everything sounds way more stress and aggro than what the system is actually designed to do, and I highly expect this to show through the trials (maybe just ending up as a fastrack system like disney's fastpass+ and a paid for system on top.. though this will be at the expense of a really really slow stand-by queue).

...and who told me this restaurant's name was different to how I call it? ;) "Use your spare time to relax with lunch in Bar 360"

  6. No ones paying attention to when it's been open. Just closed.

That's because noone ever rides it.

It might look busy but it gets about 200pph (sends one ride every 10-15mins). Do they speak about it anywhere? Do they try to ride it again? Do you hear of people actually complaining slammer isn't open?

No. Why? Because it's not popular and noone goes to ride it.

  7. A member of staff has just informed me that Slammer should hopefully open tomorrow, if not Tuesday. So annoying it's not today but it's great to hear that it's going to open :D

Sent from my iPhone 5S using Tapatalk

Presume they meant a Tuesday at some point sometime? ;)

Slammer, from whatever viewpoint you try and take it from, is just not worth it. Even if it's the only ride ever to exist anywhere, if it's gonna work for one month before being closed for over a year it makes it completely pointless in having.

  8. ..you mark off on pencil, noone will go through and change your vote it'd be far too time consuming (plus the ballot box always has more than one person from various party backgrounds around it).

Your vote doesn't always count? It goes towards the overall count, so if everyone who said that actually voted then it would make a huge difference.

  9. Still remember those days of what John Wardley calls "the dark patch". Didn't he say that when it was announced that Merlin took over, you could hear the CHEERS of everyone in the company!

Yes we've gone a long way from new attractions being a pathway (haunted hallow) or absolutely nothing (Cwoa)!

  10. I took this video of Drenched yesterday after going on it twice. I was surprised how many people went on the ride with the train usually being full even though the park was dead. Just shows that it still draws a crowd even on a dead day!

Or is it because they dispatch one every 15 minutes or so (and has a minimum rider limit) which makes it seem popular?

  11. If we want to be pedant about it, Get Set Go is a programme on CBeebies which gets kids up and active and ready for the day (of watching tv programmes). So to have this talk about what to get up and active and ready for the day (of riding rides of the tv programmes) IS FITTING TO IT'S THEME PERFECTLY.

  12. Yesterday morning the screens were not there at all so they've done quite a good job!

It will look good when the graphics are up either side of the screen, not going to lie though can't wait to hear entrance music back :D

No they haven't done a good job. A good job would be to make it actually look good for opening.

Stop allowing for second best. They could've easily completed that entire thing overnight if they wanted to, they didn't. They ended up with an absolute hellhole of an entrance for 10,000 guests to see as their first opinion of their park.

Argh this frustrates me beyond belief.

  13. ^Definitely a project which should be put up and finished overnight.

Christ almighty. What would the guests who've never visited the park be thinking?! (probably the same as those which have visited before to be fair...)

  14. Tories for me.

And I voted, because it's a right we have and therefore I'd feel like I can't add to any discussions if I don't use it.

Infact I got stressed when I thought I wouldn't have time to vote so yeah. In any terms, district voting thingy it's Labour here somehow, god knows how they manage to build up their case with bugger all arguments for them and the biggest plonker ever running it (Cameron's a plonker too but least he knows stuff, Wallace doesn't have a clue).

Talking about this, I had leaflets for most parties through the door so I took the time to read them (I thoroughly believe in if someones put effort in to show me something, I'll give effort by reading/doing whatever). Labours was the only one which used entirely aggressive "why not to vote" stuff, and nothing as to why you'd want to vote them. That really winds me up, tell me what you stand for, not telling me why I shouldn't vote UKIP.
