  1. Union J, ay.I'd be amazed if anyone remembers who they are now, let alone in July.

What amazed by is just how much track there is left to put in place. Really hammers home that this is a very long roller coaster for the UK.
  3. Which friend would you like to own in exchange
  4. I'd sell my friends for the 1998 Chessington map. I used to spend hours of the day just looking at it and remembering my day to the park. I've no idea what happened to it. Same with my 2001 Thorpe map.

Oh my that takes me back.
  6. Just checked the website for how they are advertising it and it's quite clear that its the Zoo with Bubbleworks and Hocus Pocus Hall. Bucaneer, Skyway and Carousel seem to be an added on bonus. I thought it was something to do with Zufari but as it states on the website quite boldly, it is due to open on the 20th March. I thought today wouldn't be full due to some snow and the colder weather but it is yet again closed for the day. It's quite something to see this level of interest for a Zoo day. I don't think its ever been like this before.
  7. There probably was a reason you know.. they don't just close rides for the sake of it.
  8. Where it doesn't complete the circuit. it would often do this between the immelman and break 1 and break 1 to break 2.
  9. Clearly the best ride in the park.
  10. Shed (Thanks to TPR)
  11. To add to that, Fury vallies quite frequently in the cold weather, even with its testing weights in. Can't see Rattlesnake or Runaway train being a problem though. I'd assume that if the week carries on as it has been, those two rides would be considered for next years half term.

More importantly, Did you visit? Thorpe most certainly wasn't the same in 2003 and it was a completely different park in 1998..
  13. If it's in pieces it probably won't be...
  14. Mark9 replied to Graw's topic in Quick Questions
I guess we shall see what happens for the rest of the week as the weather turns from nice, warm and 7 degrees to nice, cold and 3 degrees. It's all very well with hindsight saying the park should do more, but it could easily be the other side of the coin. Which is what the majority of the Facebook page seem to be missing.
  15. The herp derp award goes tooo....

Those pictures actually put me right off. It looks nice but way to small and compact. For a minute there, I wasn't even sure there was a door to the bathroom.
  17. That probably changes year to year depending on what rides they include in opening. I'd go for around 3000 capacity but wouldn't be surprised at slightly lower.

You're living in a completely different universe to the rest of us.
  19. Pinned for truth.
  20. Just to be pedantic for a second, Colossus didn't lose its record in 2006, it was still the worlds first ten looping rollercoaster, it was just cloned in another country. Everything else in your post, yep pretty much spot on.
  21. Sorry guys, was planning to attend but money constraints have somewhat prohibited me from going. See you all soon though, have a great trip.
  22. If we were back in 2009, we'd still be declaring Amity Cove and Tidal Wave as the greatest themed ride/area at Thorpe. IMO, that still stands to this day.
  23. Mark9 replied to Confuzzled's topic in The Past
It's the project that just keeps giving ain't it.
  24. RIDE IN BEING BUILT SHOCKER.
  25. I actually disagree with a part of this. Back in 1995 Thorpe was competing with Chessington who had not only just opened Rameses Revenge to great acclaim, they also had Legoland opening down the road which would take a significant amount of people away from visiting Thorpe. The park obviously saw the success of thrill seeking rides such as Nemesis and Rameses and decided to test the waters with this route. Enthusiasts don't forget this as such, they just see it as No Way out being a complete failure in advertising and as a ride concept in general. It was too scary for kids and not scary enough for adults. It lies in that dangerous middle ground of not knowing who its target audience is and throughout the noughties, was being pinched and pushed in a number of random directions.
