June 14, 201411 yr comment_185295 Its amazing how ONE member can get us practically everywhere in the theme park archives!
June 14, 201411 yr comment_185296 Well Graham did release this completely on his own accord... (perhaps with a little prompting!) But I am doing a lot of research at the moment for a new project of mine. Watch this space...
June 15, 201411 yr comment_185307 Last time I was at Chessington I was still a kid and that music still creeps me out, Vampire was technically my first coaster I think :S Need to go back there soon
June 15, 201411 yr comment_185311 Ahh, there's the Vampire music I've been looking for! Thanks electricBill.
August 9, 201411 yr comment_188268 Can't Chessington just use the version of the Vampire soundtrack Graham Smart released, rather than just getting it off YouTube? I mean, this one sounds pretty much the same as the original version we used to hear in the station...just without the constant Vampire cackle.
August 11, 201411 yr comment_188484 Does anyone know if the Black Buccaneer audio is aaaanywhere on the internet? I don't know if it changed in the last year or so (or it just wasn't working before) but it's amazing, and I want to listen to it forever. Unfortunately, a dodgy 28 seconds iPhone recording in the queue line is as good as I've got at the moment. Have a listen: https://soundcloud.com/black-buccaneer/black-buccaneer-theme-chessington Did it come from somewhere else? Does anyone have it? Could I ask any more questions? (Probably). Thank you!
August 11, 201411 yr comment_188485 I believe it was commissioned by the park and is new this year, along with several other new music tracks. Black Buccaneer never had its own music before, as far as I know. I don't have it I'm afraid!
August 12, 201411 yr comment_188528 Have to say the Vampire station isn't the same without the proper audio. Any idea if they will get it back, or will they just stick with the rubbish version?
August 12, 201411 yr comment_188530 I think BenBowser answered that question ages ago in the Vampire topic Do you mean the one with a cackle every now and again?? The one that repeats seamlessly. If so, I don't think its back, I believe it was scrapped because of the pre-recorded announcements, which have the same laughs in them anyway. They didn't want them to overlap.
August 12, 201411 yr comment_188537 Well that's not true. The station announcements were recorded recently and don't feature old SFX. The commercial mix now used in the station has the screams mixed too loud so if anything they have exaggerated the cackling. The original Graham Smart mix of the Vampire theme doesn't even contain many SFX, as more stock SFX were added to the station loop several years after the ride opened I heard?
August 12, 201411 yr comment_188538 Pretty much. The one which they're playing seems to be the one they used to play in the area a few years ago. Either way, I see no difference myself. From someone who used to work on it hours on end, I actually prefer it now. Much clearer.
August 12, 201411 yr comment_188545 I think BenBowser answered that question ages ago in the Vampire topic Ahhhh, yes. That was only a guess, implied by the "I believe". From what I've been told, in its opening year, Vampire played a track with a large amount of SFX, more than the one that had been in use over the last few years. It was switched to the one on the Doom and Gloom album the following year. Now this is just speculation but I assume it was changed so that it didn't distract from the rest of the amazing piece. Again in just guessing, but I suspect the track was altered again in 1998 when the ride was slightly re-branded. But then again, it could have happened at any point, the lighting changes all the time as well! I agree, it is disappointing to hear what is being played at the minuet, at lease the looping has been sorted!
August 13, 201411 yr comment_188561 Good to hear about the looping...it's just no one likes to have their eardrums constantly vibrated by the ridiculously loud screaming!
August 14, 201411 yr comment_188721 Pirates cove had a load of new audio installed last season, which was produced else where. A member of staff pointed out that the area audio and the queue line audio for Buccaneer both have the chessington theme swirling in and out of the tracks. The area audio is obvious.
August 14, 201411 yr comment_188730 I absolutely adore the Buccaneer music. Makes such a massive difference. Love that chessington is almost completely covered in audio (and decent audio) compared to a couple of years ago. Needs a little bit of work, but still way better than before!
August 15, 201411 yr comment_188747 Love that chessington is almost completely covered in audio (and decent audio) *cough* Scorpion Express soundtrack *cough* (in the background of this video anyway )
September 13, 201410 yr comment_191749 Is the old Flying Jumbos music (when it was located in Toytown) available anywhere? Oh, it was so whimsical!
November 21, 201410 yr comment_197673 Er, think you forgot this classic bit of audio.. http://www.filedropper.com/001duckhatchery
November 21, 201410 yr comment_197686 Has anyone ever managed to find the Black Forest Chateau organ piece? I visited chessington while the chateau was present but never actually went inside. Was Graham Smart the original composer?
November 21, 201410 yr comment_197708 I've never come across people even mention that piece let alone come anywhere close to having a copy. Maybe it was laid to rest with the Organist.
November 21, 201410 yr comment_197710 Yes Graham composed the music for Black Forest Chateau and I'm sure he still has it, but it hadn't been heard since the show was removed.
May 19, 201510 yr comment_209328 Heide Park entrance music. Not sure if this is the extended version as the one I have downloaded as Chesssington Pre 2009 entrance theme is also 6:52. Oh blimey, that music! I really like Zufari's queueline music Doesn't seem to be anywhere online though, shame! Oh and the music they have in Penguin Bay Which I'm sure the penguins totally appreciate http://youtu.be/iGfKNLU61cQ
May 19, 201510 yr comment_209346 Thanks for that post Mer - It's always good to see how far we've come on from utter rubbish music in the past few years. Still got some way to go in some areas, but this is definitely a track to be proud of going.
