Todge Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 Well it was my sister after all What time did it open? Quote
rossafc Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 I'm not sure of the time, but I got 5 rides on Nemesis Inferno, then went to Stealth, so it couldnt of been later than 11 Quote
tomathy Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 Stealth is my favorite ride at thorpe park, so when I go I have to ride at least 3 times. first time I went a few years ago, it was my first proper roller coaster, so I was really scared. I did it and then it broke down so I only got on it once that day! Colossus was my first looping coaster ever! So I have many memories at that park, and I have only been twice! Quote
Mohs Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 The first ride on Stealth was the best feeling ever. the hole experience - the anticipation, the amazing launch and the airtime. By far the best ride I have ridden First post, by the way. Quote
Theme Park bloke Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 I have a more than decent Stealth recreation HEREThat's excellent! Like the real thing. Quote
themeparkmad Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 Stealth is currently unavailable. Quote
Todge Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 Recently there was an accident on xcelerator, the intamin coaster at notts berry farm. Seeing as stealth is intamin too I thought this thread would be appropriate. Here is the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Foor5t6wOgCould easily happen with stealth Quote
James6 Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 It is possible, but much more unlikely at Thorpe.Knott's Berry Farm apparently has very poor maintenance of it's rides, if this is the reason for Stealth's downtime, good of Thorpe to check it out. That truely is a horrible accident, look at the way the seat is knocked forwards on the way back down. Marc Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 This cant happen on stealth from what I understand, the channel where the cable goes is totally different. Quote
Ricky Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 The channels are differently set out from the others, the catch car instead of having one wire going though the middle has two on the outer bit that run through like a trunking to prevent this sort of thing. Quote
Jake C Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 I do ope its back up for sunday, I reckon it could be checks or there might be something wrong with her. was it closed all day today? Quote
Dan9 Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 I reckon it could be checks or there might be something wrong with herWell yes generally those are the only two reasons a ride could really be shut all day for. Quote
Jake C Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 yup your right, I think I should of thought more about my post sorry. Quote
Ricky Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 Referring back to my older post about the different channels I found THIS photo. Hope it helps understanding the way stealth is less lethal. Quote
Harry.D.C Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 Referring back to my older post about the different channels I found THIS photo. Hope it helps understanding the way stealth is less lethal.Oh haha, love the way you say less lethal Quote
Ricky Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 I found this one too, its a bit clearly, and well you will still get the flicking of shrapnel but it wont cause harm to the riders, the queuers might get a hit, its a hit and miss situation. Quote
tomathy Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 that incident on xcelerator is worrying, yet I don't reckon anything like hat would happen at thorpe because the pre ride checks are performed more regularly. I won't be surprised if when the whole story comes out it turns out that the mechanics havent been properly servicing the ride!Anyway Stealth's launch does look alot safer than xcellerators! Quote
Marc Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 Remember it was a very early model of the Launch coaster, Stealth will have had many changes from which Intamin have learnt along the way. Quote
Jake C Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 have you seen xcells launch TOM? Quote
Welsh Boy Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 have you seen xcells launch TOM?Whats xcell?I was talking to my friends the other day who had just gone to Thorpe Park, and they said that the queued and hour and half for Stealth and thought it was a waste of time What do you guys think? Is it a waste of time to queue so long for such a short ride or not?Personally I don't think it is... Quote
themeparkmad Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 Whats xcell?XCellerator. - Another Intamin launch ride. Quote

Is it a waste of time to queue so long for such a short ride or not?Personally I don't think it is...I personally dont think its a waste of time, its one of the biggest rides in the park, so you expect to queue for it.Although, I never queue more than 30 mins for it. Quote
stealth888 Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 I could happily wait 90 mins for Stealth, as it is my favourite ride anyway plus I never get bored of WWTP! WWTP for the win! :)But I agree with you ross, nowadays I never usually wait more than 30 mins.Saws queue is so boring now. I could easily wait 90 mins for stealth, but not for saw. Quote

tomathy Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 have you seen xcells launch TOM?Yeah ive seen pics of xcellerators launch and it doesn't look as safe as stealth's , probably because stealth is newer!Just beacuse ive only made a few posts doesn't mean I'm stupid!Stealth hasn't injured people due to a ride malfunction and xcellerator has, I'm sorry but it's a fact and therefore stealth must be safer to a certain degree!RANT OVER!
