Posted January 9, 201213 yr comment_129728 HiI really want to apply to Thorpe Park, and I notice that applications are currently open. I am 15 at the moment although I will be 16 in June. Am I allowed to apply now and then if I get an interview would I be permitted to specify that I'd be able to work part-time during the summer period (I'll be 16 then)?
January 9, 201213 yr comment_129740 I'd say apply now, if nothing else you look keen to the park, and they would be able to employ you from your birthday. You may well pick up some summer holiday work, if your lucky, and if nothing else it's good experience for you to go through the job application process for later life. Give it a shot, make sure you explain your situation and see how it turns out, after all, what have you got to loose?
January 10, 201213 yr comment_129741 Although I'm sure there's another topic based on this, do Thorpe employ 16 year olds these days? Particularly on rides? The website is SO uninformative in their job blurb.Probably better to wait till you're actually 16 if they do, they have applications in the Summer as well, so it's no rush right now.Besides, in summer you'll be expected to work more full-time than part-time.
January 10, 201213 yr comment_129749 Peoplebank don't allow applications from people under 16 anyway - so just apply when you become 16, there'll be jobs available over summer anyway
January 10, 201213 yr comment_129767 The park have a huge recruitment thing on now, ready for the season start. So much so, I've seen it pushed recently on Twitter too. I honestly think they have too many applications of 'age ready' applicants to go through, rather than applicants who are too young.Worry not though! There are always seasonal jobs coming up and by June, there will be summer and certainly Fright Nights job opportunities coming up and with the latter, do a good job and you'll be invited back for the start of the next season too!
January 20, 201213 yr comment_130542 There are jobs going now on the thorpeparkjobs.com. Hurry now and you can apply for a position! Good luck guys Edited January 21, 201213 yr by Neilfever
January 25, 201213 yr comment_130733 Like it's been said, you shouldn't be able to apply through the PeopleBank system, but it's always worth a shot. But if you aren't going to be eligible for work until June, I'd say wait until the applications for summer work appear. And I believe at 16 you can work in Rides, but you can't be a ride operator. Kind of understandable really :)RJ
January 28, 201312 yr comment_149140 Hey I applied for a job at Thorpe, got invited to an assessment centre, but I need to contact HR regarding dates as only 1 is available and I cant make it.does anyone have an email address for HR?
January 28, 201312 yr comment_149141 Wouldn't it be the email address they contacted you from? Assuming you were invited to an assessment centre via email then it's usually HR that send those emails I did used to know it but I've forgotten it now!
January 28, 201312 yr comment_149143 I'm afraid the system is automatic, so the email they invited me to book from is a no reply
January 28, 201312 yr comment_149153 I have found an old email from 2008(!) and the address is human.resources@thorpepark.co.uk Hopefully it's still the same Good luck
January 28, 201312 yr comment_149155 Thanks I'll try that, strange its at.co.uk but now the site is at .com I suppose they own both
January 28, 201312 yr comment_149156 As far as I'm aware, Merlin use '.co.uk' for all their staff/back of house email contacts in the country.
January 28, 201312 yr comment_149165 Nope. Alton Towers uses alton-towers.com. Seems to be the least popular address typed in is the email address
November 18, 201311 yr comment_172125 Does anyone know when/where you have to go to apply for a ride host for the 2014 season?
November 18, 201311 yr comment_172135 www.thorpeparkjobs.com - late december early jan That's is correct min age is 16tho
November 20, 201311 yr comment_172215 No ones mentioned how you can't work on rides at thorpe until you're 18. and if you are younger you can only work in food and beverages. I plan on working weekends at Chessington when I turn 17 and moving to thorpe for full time when I turn 18.

November 20, 201311 yr comment_172231 If you get the job I'm sure you will enjoy, seems like a really friendly environment with staff from what I have heard. Edited November 21, 201311 yr by Tommy Staff name.

You can pretty much work in any seasonal department (apart from security obviously) if you're 16+, to operate rides you have to be 18.

November 25, 201311 yr comment_172412 Even engineering? Wouldnt engineering count as permanent though seeming that you would have closed season maintenance to do as well as seasonal maintenance
November 25, 201311 yr comment_172417 Wouldnt engineering count as permanent though seeming that you would have closed season maintenance to do as well as seasonal maintenance Maintance weather sparky or fitter is a permanent job role and you will need the relevant qualifications too
