Posted March 23, 201213 yr comment_134917 You may not of heard because of all the hype for Sub Terra, but there's another "cool" new attraction opening at Alton Towers this year!Post your reviews and thoughts here in the brand spanking new, Ice age: the 4D Experience topic!
March 24, 201213 yr comment_134981 The pictures coming from Towers Nerd look pretty good! Think this will be the better attraction!
March 24, 201213 yr comment_134982 But now towers can see that they haven't over hyped ice age and it's turning out to get the most posotive feedback.
March 25, 201213 yr comment_135080 Really cracking 4D this! The theming is really good for what it is, far more than I expected. The actual theatre looks great, too.
March 26, 201213 yr comment_135150 It is superb; really well executed and immersive effects, crisp visuals even with the cardboard glasses and a fun film. If I was going to be hyper critical I'd say it is a little repetitive even in such a short space of time (yeah, we get it, snot is wet) and could be edited a bit better to give a little more narrative and little less constant frantic action to pace it better. But really I think it is about as good as it could be, very much the stronger of Altons new attractions for this year.
March 27, 201213 yr comment_135164 Felt a bit less than that to me. Would guess it is 10 mins, plus a 5 min turnaround so a showing every 15 mins.
March 28, 201213 yr comment_135264 Yeah it's ok... Some of the effects are slightly out of time, but it's alright actually...Not sommat I'd do on every visit, but, least it makes that building's attraction actually viable for me, rather than past residents...
March 29, 201213 yr comment_135315 Credits to UK Park News for these lovely photos of Ice Age 4D & Review here: http://www.ukparknews.co.uk/entry/cms/?p=8277Looks like a lovely attraction and well themed, cannot wait to try it out on the 9th April One Quick Question - Do you exit through the shop?
March 18, 201510 yr comment_205471 The TowersStreet Facebook has revealed that Alton Towers have a new 4D film for 2015 in the Ice Age theatre! Great news... the old one had done its time and this an unexpected new addition for the new season! "Ice Age - The 4D Experience: No time for nuts!" featuring SCRAT!
March 18, 201510 yr comment_205480 Fanboys seem to hate on Ice Age for some reason. I really like it; something a bit different to break up the nonstop rides, with decent effects and an amusing if not groundbreaking hacked down film. Good to see them keeping it fresh.
March 18, 201510 yr comment_205489 2 years is enough for a 4d film in my opinion especially when you end up watching it several times in a year... And then for it to be there for a third year, and certainly was worrying about a 4th, so this news is very welcome; this news isn't exclusive, it just says on the 2015 map on the Alton Towers pullout in The Sun. The fact it uses a Scrat based short film is going to be amazing... The best bit about ice age tbh. And it's gonna be new, so
March 23, 201510 yr comment_205803 So went yesterday... And was very disappointed to find that it's still the same old dawn of the dinosaurs version!! On the plus side the foam/snow and water effects seemes to be ridiculously overused compared to what I remember, got covered in the foam aha!
