I do look forward to seeing what excuses this country's famous exquisite collection of NIMBY's will have to try and stop it. However, this is exciting stuff and if/when it happens will majorly shake up both the UK and European theme park scenes!!
-
Much more chance of going ahead though I can't imagine many folks aiming to use Luton Airport to get there. Though this is not a Governmental project, their employment figures are a bit far-fetched. It will be interesting as to the source of the bricks.

I don't know what's real and what isn't anymore 😆 This would probably be quite lucrative honestly!
-
Always assume sarcasm. Like any project anything could happen to it. But once Universal had to reveal their hand it had far more chance than London Resort ever did. Everything crossed.
-
Look forward to it and especially the vloggers economy it will create! I might consider going full time on tiktok live and live streaming the park daily updating everyone on each new piece of merch and food that becomes avalible!

I can never tell if you're serious or just being sarcastic @Benin 😆 This is a very different situation to the London Resort though isn't it... And actually I'd argue that 6 years is not a long time at all when you consider what it is they're actually building. Construction is due to start next year, so really when you consider that in the meantime they will be arranging contracts with builders, engineers and suppliers etc, the project will be very much actively moving forward within months. Of course there's always the chance that it could be pulled, but really I think this is overwhelmingly positive and is looking very likely to go ahead. Very exciting! I honestly can't wait to visit, especially as my kids will be the perfect age for all this when it opens!

6 years is a long time. Plenty of chance it does a London Resort.

Much excitement!!!!!

Genuinely the most exciting announcement European announcement in my lifetime. There's a long way to go of course but the prospect of this park is so exciting. I can see myself heading up there after work just to hang out in their version of city walk

This is very true to be honest - Stealth has always been amazingly reliable, especially considering what it is. In fact I’d honestly say Thorpe in general have very good reliability (ignoring Hyperia of course) - their downtime only generally lasts a very short period of time doesn’t it.

It's restarted its silent protest at the removal of Kingda Ka.

They do have spare parts for certain things. But it is physically impossible for basically any park to have every spare part possible for a ride stored at the park.

It's strange that Thorpe hasn't ordered any spare sparts, as they should have done so months ago.
-
Yeah, no. Terrible idea. Intamin still manufacturer parts for their accelerators. And it's not like it's 'just' a piece of track, which any company can manufacturer fairly easily. Thorpe should 100% continue to order parts for Stealth from Intamin, and continue whatever maintenance programme they've followed the last few years. It's easy to forget, but it's been pretty damn reliable and consistent the past few years.
-
lancher the, launcher the, launcher the, STRINGS! then it's slow, and no, good, anymore, that was when you thought, what on earth, STRINGS! then downhill from then
-
Perhaps Taziker should make pets for Stealth, probably more for spare parts.
-
The downtime would imply they are waiting on a part. Was running well last Wednesday, other than a rollback in testing.
-
Anyone know what going on with stealth? Been down all day for the past few days now

I was lucky to experience a valley on Mandrill on Sunday, we just came to a stop at the boost launch area before the helix. I found it quite exciting as we would have to experience the rides swing launch to get it going again. I really enjoyed it as well. Mandrills launches are quite punchy as it is so going back and forth through the section was pretty satisfying. I am actually quite a big fan of Mandrill tbh, I've heard all the arguments about it being the wrong fit and whatever, however every time I go on it, it gives me a lot of joy and the queues for it never seem crazily unreasonable. The team always seem really on it when it comes to batching, loading and dispatching. It also has the B&M quirk of being incredibly reliable, 3.8% downtime for the last 7 days, and beaten only by Nemesis Reborn.

It seems to roll back more oftern at the start of the season, is there a reason for this? I remember the passholder day a couple of years ago where it rolled back twice that morning.
-
The usually reliable Queen seems to be having some down time... She did rollback during testing on Wednesday and then did open, but seems to have been down for the last few days.

Found an interesting YouTube channel by Disney Imagineering. Latest video here: We Call It Imagineering | Let's Ride

Got dragged/forced to the last You Me At Six gig tonight and they played The Swarm song. It amused me. Carry on.

Hyperia appears to have re-opened today on one train.
