  3. They really are cutting it fine aren’t they!
  4. Credit to dean8001 on Twitter for photos from today. Hurry hurry construction team, the cast of Love Island from a couple of years ago are due in 30 hours! Just spotted that the bottom photo has queue line fencing in waiting to go in still!
  5. I feel like there must have been a bet on how many times they could say "scan" in a video.
  6. Has anyone got the new announcements that play in the Stealth queue every now and then that they added this year? Been tryna find them for a while lol (Don't mind WWTP in the background, I'd just the full announcement that plays at the end :P) video_20240506_162117.mp4
  7. I heard there might also be some kind of restraint. 🫣
  8. Yesterday
  9. Better to have all the information than not. Sensory issues are still fairly new to it all. Given the problems with RAP as well probably something that will be consistent across the board, and guess its no different to the standard safety boards stating the obvious either. There was also a video for the Accessibility side of Hyperia. Though I do wonder why they constantly told me to scan a QR code when I was watching it on my phone.
  10. Sorry for double post - I see the Thorpe Park app now has accessibility info added for Hyperia. I appreciate people have sensory needs etc, and completely understand detailing perhaps what a scare attraction includes, or if there is haze, strobes, latex and such, and what a ride itself entails - but do we really need to be told that there will be people screaming, there will be audio announcements and that the queue line and station will have people in them? Or is this the level of stating the blooming obvious that we now have to stoop to, to cover ones corporate backside?
  11. They do like to try and announce things when Merlin do - Tulleys have 3 question marks on their website. Appears Circus of Horrors and The Island/Colony has disappeared, so would suggest 2 are replacements for those and one new haunt. Wastelands extension/haunt 2 finally happening?
  12. Last week
  13. Don't be so negative, setting up the stage whilst tarmac is still being laid and finished at the other end of the plaza was definitely the construction plan.
  14. It definitely feels very down to the wire doesn't it 😬 A lot left to do in a short period! I'm surprised the lake hasn't been re-flooded yet - I guess this will be a last minute quick job? Still - how bloody exciting. Can't believe this is about to open at Thorpe!
  15. wurp wurp wurp wurp WUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP tick, tock, tick, tock are you ready for the drop it's rather good, but say no more can I, finding it for yourself, will be, OH MY!
  16. Don't think the fake shop scene has been in use for a while, haven't been into that scene in my last 4 rides on Ghost Train (last time probably being July last year). I do think it's a shame if they've stopped using it, it always used to catch my mates who had never done the ride before off guard after I'd convinced them that we we're going to get their photos.
  17. B&M inverter confirmed.
  18. I rode Ghost Train yesterday for the first time this season. Interestingly, there was no Fake Shop scene, but there was an additional actor in the Crypt (in the form of a wraith / hooded creature). The Fake Shop only requires one actor, so this appears to more be a creative decision. The finale was cool, especially for first-timers, but definitely loses its appeal quickly. And with the Ghost Train shop no longer existing, I wonder if they're contemplating something different for the finale, or just scrapping it altogether.
  19. There was also a teaser for 2026: No indication what it could be or where, although with the park planning on redeveloping the Cobra-side of the park, it could end up there. There was an animation of that version of the park's logo inverting too, so some are speculating it could be an inverting coaster.
  20. On Friday, Hyperia took its first non-Mack riders: Yesterday, significantly more staff were given training on how to evacuate Hyperia. This is the state of play of the plaza as of yesterday: The water effect tested for the first time today: Everything is coming together and, whilst the area might not be the most glamorous-looking, and might need time to bed-in with foliage needing to grow, everything seems on track to open THIS FRIDAY.
  21. Replacement for the old 4D cinema was mentioned on the park's "Super Fan Day". https://ghostlymanor.co.uk/
  22. The tarmac will be covered with the resin I think! Samurai and Saw are both planned to be closed today, can only assume it’s construction related.
  23. The dreaded tarmac pathway appears again!
  24. Went to Towers yesterday with work mates, to check out the reimagined Nemesis (Reborn). The ride looks different although striking with the new track colour and other features. I especially love the new giant eye effect/ animatronics, which really enhances the area. The other area theming is fitting too, amongst the new soundtrack and station updates. The ride was running relitively well, albeit maybe the tiniest of judders. However it was a front-row ride first thing in the day. The queue line has seen a slight but noticeable route change, but still feels fitting to the landscape. I did Alton Manor, not once but twice. I really enjoyed and appreciated this ride so much more this time and adored the story, effects and set pieces within the ride. Can safely say it’s my favourite U.K. dark ride now. As for the rest of the park, it’s very trial and error. I love oblivion, but it needs some updates and TLC, Smiler was a little bumpy and breakdowns were noticeable, even to my (mostly ) non ride-enthusiasts group. The lack of support rides was showing, more-so with Sky Ride and Hex (still) closed. Numerous areas need jetwashing, repainting and replacing. 4pm is just too early to close for a park this size, even if it is low peak. Towers isn’t a bad park by any means, but there’s a number of basic things they could do to become a great one!
  25. Here's a look at area today:
  26. Well done to Thorpe for setting all this up. People are animals unfortunately, and a stampede is the last thing anyone needs. I'll be waiting a week or two before visiting I think! I wonder what the queue time will be on opening day?
  27. Depends when they open the gates. But if you're sad enough to wait overnight for this then ain't no helping those people. Seems a sensible plan at least. Sure it'll still be utter chaos and full of entitled people. Staff will need to be on point for it to be a success.
