    Logger's Leap

I'm sure they said that at one point and switched back to the "redevelopment" spiel not long after. I wouldn't take anything the social media accounts say as fact, all of them seem to change their mind with every passing week. I don't think Loggers will reopen though.

    Park Operations

Being on two trains and stuck on the brake run for ages just defeats the point of two trains imo. that train should be ready to go once you leave the first brakes so it just keeps rolling in

    Vortex

I just highly doubt they'll remove it, its an afterburner after all, shouldn't be too hard to get parts for it if they're needed anyway

    Vortex

Apparently Vortex has The Swarms wind sensor as The Swarms old wind sensor broke and to keep a major ride running they swapped sensors which meant vortex was running without one which explains why at the start of the 2018 season during windy days the gondula was getting carried very high and shutting down regulary, this may not be true but this is what ive heard from staff and other enthusiasts and they could be waiting on a new wind sensor for Vortex!.

    Vortex

Vortex did indeed open in 2001. There's been no news either way about Vortex. It's currently just listed as unavailable / closed, but there's no indication that it's leaving either. Usually in these situations (where a ride is closed for a long period of time with no obvious work happening to it), the park are waiting on behind the scenes stuff (like a new part, for example) to come in. I'd be very surprised if it doesn't return at some point.

    Logger's Leap

The issue lies with poor communication regarding its closure, IMO. That said, I'm not sure which is worse - leaving it sat there rotting away (like Loggers, Slammer etc) or tearing it down without even giving it a second thought (as BPB did with the Mouse).

    Logger's Leap

I think it comes as no surprise that Loggers will never operate again, as sad this may have been. Loggers Leap was a popular water attraction with visitors of all ages, including families and thrill seekers (wanting a break from the white knuckle rides). The wetness level was spot. The ride was also an iconic for the late Princess Diana, who enjoyed the attraction during her visit to Thorpe in mid nineties. Despite it’s significant position in the park, the ride unfortunately wasn’t looked after in it’s later years, as it was starting to look neglected. The surprise drop in the dark was removed in 2013 due to the roof being regarded unsafe. Three years later, the ride suddenly closed under the vague guise of ‘redevelopment’. The ride remains closed likely down to neglect and the requirements of a safety upgrade. It is believed Park management would like for the ride to reopen in the future (through a rigorous upgrade and refurbishment). Unfortunately however Merlin have likely not given the park any/enough budget to realistically carry this out, which is a great shame to witness. The park should’ve really been given the money to keep the ride operating in safe and reliable manner, although they have chosen not to. Unfortunately Loggers follows the fate of other such atttactions, Black Hole and Pirate Adventure. Where they remain standing for years to come until demolition.
