Don’t get me wrong, im not saying the park don’t have its problems, but I wouldn’t say it’s quite at the soul destroying level! I do disagree though - personally think The Walking Dead retheme of X was executed brilliantly and was their last solid investment!

What's changed? Have they finally been told to stop being rude and sarcastic to guests?

You sure? I can't believe people would be able to stick it out that long!! Every time they post there are just constant waves of negativity thrown back at them from nearly every responder. With the (lack of) direction of the park at the moment it's quite understandable, and they must realise they've missed the mark with the promotion of this year's offering but seem too far commited to it to change tack. It must be absolutely soul destroying.

  5. Rather confusingly, the Fright Nights link on the website directs to the Fright Nights 2018 page: https://www.thorpepark.com/fright-nights-2018 The obvious link for a 2019 page currently doesn't work: https://www.thorpepark.com/fright-nights-2019 This has happened the past couple of years. At the start of the year/season, where they direct to a lite version of the previous year's event (basically a summary of the event). When they're ready to make an announcement, they then change it. It's a bit short sighted imo, but I guess it never makes that much difference in the grand scheme of things. One thing which is interesting to note is that one of the Billy puppets from Saw Alive has appeared in the Saw Ride queue line. And there's no sign outside the maze saying it is returning for this year's Fright Nights (like there normally is, and equally there's a sign outside Containment saying it is returning..). 6. The Fright Nights page on the official website has already been updated to show that this year’s event will have over 10 scare mazes and zones. Good to see the park listened to last year’s awful feedback and are valuing quality over quantity...

That's funny, I remember yyeeeearrrs ago when you could hear that from the top and it echoed all around the park. "3... 2... Juan" Nice they fixed that after so long.

    Your Thorpe Park

Id also say that anyone who buys the parks off Merlin (if the resort theme parks are sold as people want them to, even me in the past) would probably only end up the same situation as Merlin. I'd much rather Merlin changed their attitude, change the way the parks are run and how theyre developed, how they market the parks' futures, than for Merlin to sell them off. Or at least sell off their RTP division is a new company or something, than flog the parks to highest bidders. Look at what happened when Pearson sold Tussauds, it changed hands few more times, saw underwhelming investment and decine, and ended up with Merlin.

They look like they can't wait to see a fun and creative theme park industry in the future

  10. I hope everyone gets what they wish for... ...In reality, another year waves hello to yet another shake up in Thorpe’s management, staffing, project management and direction, meaning, yet again, consistency goes out of the window. Fright Nights is sadly an unorganised and chaotic event with little to no thought, direction or drive, and change in personnel can mark very significant differences in delivery. Big Top not returning due to lack of tent? More like lack of intent, with the creative minds and team behind its success walking away heads held high after completely turning around what was a disasterous delivery in 2015...
