    X

Whilst queueing for X today, the spekers outside were playing this track, sort of piano/keyboard type track, but it kept cutting out and restarting every 10 seconds or so. Anyone know the name of it?
  2. Me and Mum were there today, and after a while they just opened the queue normally as the wifi went down, due to everyone going on there near enough the same time, plus we saw trains going round half empty as they were'nt letting the people on to fill them. Personally I don't think it will work, but I suppose time will tell.
  3. Err, I take it you like stingrays Han? lol
  4. Definatley could ride the Scenic Railway at the Pleasure Beach all day. Regards the new coaster, I went on a similar one at Skegness, and it was the biggest heap of rubbish I have ridden, and did you have to mention the Log Flume?
  5. As with most Gerstlaurers it seems.
  6. Have to admit, Chessington pre Beanoland was awesome, and agree with all the points listed above. The park has gone downhill in recent years, IMO.

    Nemesis

Never heard Tom Baker in the queueline, but the instrumental score that plays when he is telling the legend does play in the queue. Might have changed though, as I only really use the SRQ so can't really hear it.
  8. Finally got on the Smiler yesterday. The ride itself was better than I anticipated, but that music did my head in after about 5 minutes. Queued about 1 and a half hours in the main queue and about 30 minutes in the SRQ. In my opinion I think it's on a level par with Nemesis. 9 out of 10
  9. Have to agree with Mer on this one. I am addicted to Mountain Dew. Very refeshing on a hot day in the States
  10. Me too. I think there is only so far you can go limit and ideawise on steel coasters.
  11. Looks like one for the tick only ride, plus it's a long way to go to suffer that amount of pain
  12. Well, if the Scenic Railway in Margate is'nt made of wood, what is it made of? It's the same class of ride as the Rollercoaster in Gt Yarmouth, a wooden Scenic railway with onride brakeman. What defines a wooden coaster is the track it runs on, or in, if it's a side friction coaster, which Leap the Dips, the oldest operating coaster is a prime example of. I do think a GCI woodie like Ravine Flyer 2 would go down very well at Thorpe.
  13. I'm a maybe at the moment, and if I go it will only be for the day event, but would be great to finally meet a few members
  14. I was lucky to have 3 days in Las Vegas last year with the RCCGB. We had an ETS (Exclusive Tower Session) before the public started coming up. First was the Big Shot, probably not as high as Ice Blast, but when you are already 900 feet in the air, makes for a truely unforgettable experience. Next up was X scream, the See Saw type ride. I wanted to get a front row seat, but had to make do with second row. probably the best flat ride experience I have had the chance of riding. I was'nt impressed with Insanity and chickened out on the Skyjump, though was fun watching some members taking the plunge. Was just a bit disappointed that the High roller was'nt there.
  15. Haha, yep, remember it well. "Get it off and get the damn thing open"
  16. Just a brief one. Headed up to the Towers yesterday on a day off work especially to ride the Smiler. Was disapppointed to find it had valleyed, especially after hearing it and seeing it go round as we were walking up there. We had a chat with the woman on the end of the queueline up the front of the Towers saying keep an eye out, just incase, but in the end it was'nt to happen. Ride count Oblivion 2 Rita 1 13 2 Nemesis 3 Spinball 1 Hex 1 RMT 1 Duel 1 Even more gutted to learn Smiler was open today. I will get to ride it somewhen, hopefully
  17. Oh. Can someone please tell me where abouts on the circuit the ORP is? Thanks in advance
  18. Thanks for the warning EC. Will brace myself at those points.
  19. I too have got a long journey up to the park tomorrow, (Fareham, Hampshire) for my first ever ride on the Smiler. The only thing I'm not looking foward to is the restraints, looking at EC's photo. The ride does look visually immense and hope to see some trains duelling interacting, especially over the airtime hills and the Batwing/Cobra roll Will post my report and judgment on the ride tomorrow
  20. Can't make this one. Going to be right in my busy period at work :sorry:
  21. Thanks for the info guys. Does'nt look too bad in the pictures. Personally have'nt been to Brean for years. First time I went there, that coaster that used to run beside the lift of PMBO was there, but was'nt undercover.
  22. Happy 30th Mattymoo and also happy birthday Tubs
  23. To be honest, the only real nauseating bit is the first drop, but after that, it's pretty mundane, but IMO, good fun.
  24. Just to add, some of the lights on the indoor section on SAW were'nt working, so you could'nt tell where the drop was, as you could'nt see the swinging axes. Man, did my stomach go
