They haven't looked like that since 2005 :lol:Mind you, there's always Glasvegas...
  2. Ah, thanks Josh, I knew I'd seen that somewhere but though it best to leave it unspoken in case I was horrifically wrong! I must admit I'm not feeling the steel mesh encasing the whole island, unless it's themeing very well (insert fanboy suggestions here).
  3. Netting won't be much of an issue. There's very little parts of the ride that actually pass over the visitors' heads. The apex of the inclined loop, the inverted section of the corkscrew, and a small section of track leading into the inline twist (though the latter section will be the lowest, so you can bank on netting appearing there). There'll also be netting over the queueline for the inline twist obviously, and that entire area has an open-air queue section all the way up to the tower.Interesting to see how this differs from Nemesis Inferno's queueline and walk-way area, where the riders get very up-close-and-personal to the ride. There are opportunities on The Swarm, but whether or not they'll feel as claustrophobic as say, feeling the rush of the train soar into the first corkscrew or watching it circle above your head in the first helix is another matter. I do like the Rickety Jetty themeing, and I'm intrigued as to how accessible it will be to the public because that's really where you can view the hub of the ride from. Also, the bottom of the drop is in close proximity to the walkway, the inline twist over the queue and, not forgetting, we'll be able to walk right up and hug those lovely B&M lift supports.

  6. I'm already sick to the back teeth of it. And also of certain members counteracting my votes, and thus we may as well delete the two most recent comments.Naming no names, naturally...

    Look up 'A Dustland Fairytale'.
  15. There's been so many attempts to launch a new children/family franchise from a series of books: just look at the spectacular failure of the actually rather good Alex Rider series. The first film, Stormbreaker, changed the novel in so many ways that it just ended up relying on gimmickry and a stale sense of humour.I say Avatar because that's also going to be a continuous franchise, with one more film already commissioned for 2013 and a third in talks. I don't see how that's going to do in the grand scheme of things really; Avatar was an awful film. Great special effects, sure, but the story-line was just a rehash of the Americans hunting Native American tribes for gold, only it used "unobtainium" and was based on a planet called Pandora (Lord know why they chose to borrow from Greek mythology, there). What a load of bull it was.Besides, the main characters aren't actually human (not anymore, at least). Trivial thing, I know, but surely it's fundamental in terms of capturing the imagination of smaller children. Harry Potter worked because we all believe in magic at one point, and because Potter was set on Earth and the main characters were human, it's much easier to relate and empathise with them. Avatar was merely something to be impressed by.
  16. Well, there's always Avatar... OR PERCY JACKSON!
  17. The book was astonishing. This is produced by Lionsgate so I have high hopes.
