    The state of this thread...

You'd think people have never experienced a power cut before... Love the woman from the Echo who stated she'd got season tickets and moaned about not being able to ride anything... Not like you can't go back is it?
  3. The only online presence so far since the announcement have been those blogs and low key websites that Thorpe CONSTANTLY retweet... A marketing campaign won't kick in till after Easter...
  4. Rather unexpected turn of events tbh... Irl pics: I want to be the person who takes off the protective covering... And those Mack restraints are actually gonna make this pretty damn good...

Finally purged the bats out? Very good news indeed, little details like that is what the parks are missing most atm...
  6. Parks really are loving that ride type... I would like to try the tower version to see what it's like compared to the normal version... Probably more vomit inducing tbh... The two S&S towers have indeed gone, no shame as they were awfully located and pointless...
  7. Hasn't the whole park been closed since October?
  8. Two catches from Ryan there, great stuff...
  9. Aren't the people against SeaWorld the same sort of people who hate zoos and stuff? SeaWorld won't go bust, under same company as Busch Gardens, and that's owned by Blackstone... I'm sure that whilst the park has taken hits since Blackfish, the removal of the Killer Whales (I think that's still a thing) will probably boost the park PR a bit... If they think they're cruel at SeaWorld, should never visit Drayton then...
  10. Even with non park projects, the councils/locals can be just as awful... CPFC proposing a move back to Crystal Palace park, including redevelopment of the athletics track/area, was pretty much thrown out due to NIMBYs... Some people just wouldn't take any benefits to the local area on board because of... Reasons...
  11. For every good Intamin, there's about 10 awful ones... Bet Taron ends up riding awfully just to spite us all...
  12. This was pretty predictable given that NO-ONE went to this... Like, was it worth the park opening for a few hours just so some enthusiasts and hotel guests could get some high ride counts for barely any income? Not really... Such is the British way...
  13. Let's look at what Garda built between Raptor and Oblivio... Ice Age 4D (replacement) Madagascar Show (replacement) Kid's playground Yep, really consistent in it's high quality additions... 4 years between coasters? Thorpe had 3 between Saw and Swarm, Blackpool has no space, and Chessie has no care... Plus given that Garda has both the space and prior to Raptor had no good coasters whatsoever, Merlin couldn't really go wrong (well, yes, but fortunately they were sensible for once)...
  14. Chessie's ground isn't the most stable, look at the state of some of the pathways and you can see it... Slip sliding away, so digging is pretty much out of the question... Can only imagine what might have been if Tussauds hadn't hit the brick wall of the council prior to purchasing Towers... Thing is as well, much like Lego's issues, there's the traffic issue to consider, which is bloody awful at the best of times... It's not simply down to height and noise, and probably not helped with the relationships our parks seem to have with councils (as in, everyone hates each other)... But Chessie simply doesn't have the sufficient infrastructure available to it to support a major modern park at the current time, which is evidence of it's bad treatment under DIC... Merlin's stuff is short term at more than just Chessie... That much is clear...

On the subject of a new entrance, I would HATE for the main entrance to be over in FV... Towers has one of the best entrance designs (bar Spinball ruining the view), and it would be a real shame to lose it... A hotel entrance sure, but not a main entrance... I've taken too many newbies on that Monorail trip with it's teasing views of the park and seen the positivity that comes with it...
  16. The back wall is a bit, lacklustre... But then again, no-one will be looking at it because Tigers... Let's be honest, none of the theming in that place was ever coherent... Animal Kingdom it never was...

Depends how they're accessing it, they could easily just use a cherrypicker (and that is probably the best way) to do it... Least the station is getting something, that's the more important thing here... I do hope that it does get another coat of something to darken it slightly, pure white does not suit Nemmie...
  18. An awful addition, it's no wonder noone cares about it... Probably all they could afford since no idiot would buy the Screaming Squirrel off them... It's a shame since the last few additions have notably improved on offerings, this does not...
  19. Dunno, Victoria looks pretty similar right now...

You do realise what a studio flat is right? Could never live in one personally, and that it's costing over £800 a month shows how awful the pricing is in London...

Areas always look barren when they first open unless you plant loads of adult trees though... It'll look better in a year when you compare it to the foliageless stuff seen at Merlin parks in recent years, which is perhaps why they all look so tatty and dull... No trees to break up the grey monotony...
  22. Walibi have a LOT to do to even get anywhere near Efteling... Lost Gravity, a dark ride and another random coaster 3 years away isn't enough whatsoever...
  23. It can and does run two trains if required... I don't think that demand is on a regular basis though... Seeing the second train rise from the station floor is amazing...
  24. NOTHING runs on one train at Europa...
  25. It depends on the park doesn't it? Some parks, deserve visiting several times, others deserve a singular visit (usually to get the cred) and very little else... Although sometimes you discover the odd gem of somewhere along the way on those 1/2 cred parks, so it's often a case of just visit everywhere you can... At least that's what I do... New rides always tend to drag me back, often sooner than anticipated (Efteling), though it does depend on the park and ride in question, as I don't really have an interest in returning to Walibi Holland anytime soon, yet I'll defo visit Plopsaland next year primarily because of Heidi, but also the park is fantastic... It's very unlikely that a new show would get me to return though, as they are always the side attraction bonus instead... Parks that have queue times available via phones (app or webpage) need to happen more, as they are very, VERY useful things to have... Helps plan the day a little bit better whilst still feeling like you're exploring the park at your own pace... Whilst I've not experienced Disney's Fastpass+ thing in Florida, I don't like the idea of having to plan your entire trip weeks before you visit, it just lacks fluidity to me, a regimented march around the park so you can get the 13:10 slot for Space Mountain does not sound fun to me...
