Wasn't having a pop at you directly, just a general comment... Didn't the plans show where the entrance area of the ride was? Like opposite Battle Galleons or something?
-
That 3 minute track is REALLY going to grate in those 2 hour queues...

Know what really helps? Posting the evidence when stating things, as those who have only seen certain parts of a map (I.e. The actual map) can be understandably confused... If it is part of Gloomy Wood then it's a silly idea, literally got Pirates or Africa areas where it sits but Merlin would rather pick the darker boring theme as per the norm...
-
No, it really doesn't, there's no path to Katanga (at least, the usual path) this year due to access for the site... And besides these maps are anything but accurate...

Could be worse, could be like on Chiapas...
-
Nope, saw it yesterday... Much like the place, it wasn't very interesting...

Why even buy a VR headset? Just watch POVs on Youtube and save money...

So they're NOT officially announcing it but sending messages to those asking for it, but then telling them to keep it on the down low? Guessing they're aiming for a "we can't 100% confirm it'll be open when we say it is, so don't want hordes of angry people again" situation... Another fine mess eh?

It's amazing, and probably a better VR experience than DBGT...

I think it mostly sits in a park's desire to keep the dark ride going to the highest level too... Efteling know the Dreamflight is the most popular ride on park, so station and queueline withstanding continue to ensure it looks fantastic... Fata Morgana is the same really, though nowhere near as popular... Then again there's a lot of "cheesey European dark rides" that take some weird charm from the dodgy old effects and what not, so it works both ways really...

Wouldn't say there's any hate for this, just questions about the point of it when it's about 10 years too late for anyone to actually care about... If it was say a Formula Rossa or Flying Aces clone I'm sure there would be a lot more excitement... As it is, a slightly bigger version of Stealth that isn't as big as the American duo just isn't THAT interesting...

Red Force? More like Red Farce!

Which is very useful if he's completely stepped away from this project... Besides, it only means that when the current version of VR is outdated it can be replaced, though of course that means spending money on updated graphics and new headsets... So an even bigger moneypit of an attraction then...

There's no detail whatsoever, the only important info is when an opening date is being announced...
-
Surely stop-gap investment in a theme park is a bit of a weird route to take? Like whats the point in building and operating something that will barely least 3 years?
-
So they're actively REDUCING the line up in peak season? Something doesn't add up surely?
-
There's still theming on Rumba?

It is probably an underlying issue triggered by the ride, and even more obvious that she's just after the money from a big company when you reject 30k settlement... Disney like most parks and companies do a standard payout to prevent further court action and general faff (oh the stories these lawyers could tell)... Like, I'm not sure how they could 100% prove that the ride fully affected the biology of the brain without any pre-present problems... Sure Space Mountain is rough, but it's never been THAT rough?
-
Shame they didn't spite Insane tbh... It'll certainly change the area for sure, very different from the original design from ages ago mind...

Potter Studios is definitely worth more effort than Thorpe, though I recommend mentioning that any money spent in the gift shop will take away from the wedding fund... Plus, I never like rushing through 'major' parks, really does detract from the enjoyment of the overall trip... Also you might end up stuck on the M25 for hours on end anyway...

Oh, I assumed due to the rush of defence they were opening for all half term rather than every weekend like before... Of course, one could say that Blackpool's older rides actually help in terms of maintenance turn around, less confusing parts and all that stuff... Just wonder why you tell me Thorpe are irrelevant to this discussion when you yourself brought the Merlin parks into it...
-
Yet you brought them up because people were being negative over Big One having one train operation... You got called out because you decided to bring Merlin into something they had nothing to do with; as you needed to one up them and defend Blackpool over something that you will no doubt moan over when you visit Thorpe this year... What do previous years have to do with it? As Josh said, people moaned about the situations at Thorpe and Towers because they went wrong, it's not like everyone was positive about them because they were open... Given your critical nature surely you would understand others being so about one train operation on a massively advertised half term event that Blackpool hadn't tried to this level before... Just take the rose tinted glasses off and accept that Blackpool isn't perfect...
-
I guess all those years Merlin parks had a half term event when Blackpool didn't count for nothing then eh? Granted they weren't always perfect (cold weather was usually the reason for Thorpe's problems, I'm sure if they'd attempted it this year it would've been fine given the weather recently), and when they did it majority of the time was on capacity (unless Nemesis decided to pour oil on everyone)... But you know, some parks get away with murder in some people's eyes...

If Silver Star didn't have the trims of doom then it would probably be rated akin to most B&M hypers... Still better than Millenium Force though...
