Alton Towers Trip Reports
Doesn't help with the poster is over critical and hypocritical though... Could've spent that money going to Towers going to a different park, especially after spending the start of the year being adamant that they wouldn't visit at all...

Chessington Park Operations
Dat 6 pod throughput <3

What's also disappointing a lot of people are the original plans/talks of this going in Forbidden Valley and being a RMC... It's a good thing, but just not got anything 'WOW' about it...

Derren Brown's Ghost Train: Rise of the Demon
Getting around 800 to 1'000 an hour in the peak operation times is not what could be termed as rubbish throughput... It certainly gets more now than Galactica does I'd wager... Which would make it the 4th highest throughput coaster on park now I believe... Don't write opinions as facts...

Derren Brown's Ghost Train: Rise of the Demon
Smiler is still the most popular ride at Towers though, even with the crash... It's anything but meh outside the enthusiast circles... Assume once Thorpe finalise a date (again), then they'll advertise it to all and sundry... There are no brakes on the hype train after all...

Has it been confirmed as a GCI? If not, then the inversion could mean a Gravity Group...

#gottento I'd rather this than the 950...- Paultons Park
I dunno, it IS the Sun...- Paultons Park
Unfortunately this is going to be the thing after Smiler's crash... Prior to that the only events that seemed to get into the media were celeb night failures, Rush throwing metal around and Chessie's power cuts... Any basic breakdown will be exaggerated via Twitter, it's actually amazing how quickly a story can be created out of one little thing seen in a particular way...- Derren Brown's Ghost Train: Rise of the Demon
Sub Terra also had some H&S concerns to boot... It also opened in a finished state, it was just awful and needed tweaking... It was actually quite good until the scare corridor was added when they changed the order of things around... Poor design is not the same as opening unfinished... Not sure where that idea has come from...- TEA 2015 Report
Chessie as well has the what I'd like to call 'nostalgia factor', where all the people who experienced it in its hey day now have kids and want to take them there to give them the same experiences... Of course its very different now, but it would explain why it never seems to have a lull in attendance...- TEA 2015 Report
Billund doesn't exactly have the pull of being by London though... Plus most of the Danes probably visit the superior Djurs and Farup parks as well...- Why are UK Theme Parks left to rot?
Not sure why the username matters when providing some criticism that is quite frankly deserved... Towers are only doing their stuff this year because the crash opened everyone's eyes to the place's flaws... Trying to fix them in an urgent manner overnight with this 'scheme' which is basically standard maintenance dressed up...- Random Picture Thread.
Needs more context, though Alvey probably deleted all the negative comments and banned everyone... Again...- Derren Brown's Ghost Train: Rise of the Demon
As I don't have a MAP does that entitle me to be more annoyed than those who do? Klugheim can't be delayed because it never had an opening date, it's smart thinking after the massive Intamin cock up on Chiapas... The issue here is that we cannot visibly see what the problem is... You could with Smiler, you could with Chiapas (testing videos of the first drop), I assume Ferrari Land's delay is because Spain as well... Because we actually don't know the reasoning (some say Derren isn't happy with the final result, which reminds me of when Merlin annoyed Dreamworks with the proposed Shrek area for Towers), it allows WILD SPECULATION and the like... Especially as we don't know exactly how long the delay is... The main problem is that perhaps the attempt to insert lots of new tech hasn't been fully considered, because as we all know, new technology can be buggy and tempermental... I assume that's why Lightning Rod is delayed... I do like how everyone is finding as many delayed rides historically to support Thorpe, perhaps technologically biting off more than they can chew (likely reasoning for delay) or not being able to please the IP (not as likely reasoning) means that they need to plan their projects better... Which they really never have done Merlin wise, otherwise Thirteen's fences wouldn't have been painted on opening day...- Derren Brown's Ghost Train: Rise of the Demon
Is the correct answer, its impossible to change the schedule at such a late stage...- Derren Brown's Ghost Train: Rise of the Demon
- Park Operations
I think it's a culture thing too, Movie Park Germany has an unlimited day fastpass for €30, yet very rarely did I queue with any more than 2-4 other groups... It's all about management prevention really, rather than dolling out to get the person to go away...- Derren Brown's Ghost Train: Rise of the Demon
Something something, can't rush perfection, something, should be patient, etc. Very poor show all around...- Video Game Music

Drives me nuts that THORPE PARK RESORT AND RIDES insists on SHOUTING as their brand gimmick...- Derren Brown's Ghost Train: Rise of the Demon
That plot line is bloody hilarious... Like, trying to be so edgy and political and yet, it sounds daft as hell... Remember when theme parks were meant to be fun and escapism?- Why are UK Theme Parks left to rot?
I would say it's up to the parks to change this perception, much like Chessington did when it first opened, and it completely changed the idea of a theme park to the UK... It's not a big question of budget really, as smaller parks are able to keep up with repaints and keeping the parks generally tidy... It's an attitude thing, and whilst Towers have started that with TLC, I still think it's because of a reaction to the crash last year rather than an actual deliberate step forwards... They need to do things on a regular basis, reviewing everything come the end of year and actually push for a budget to fix it... - Derren Brown's Ghost Train: Rise of the Demon
