  1. Maybe fools are paying it but for me £6 a ride is a problem. Won't be going to get ripped off.

I'm sure a Mod or Admin knows more than me, but it seems after a month or so of inactivity you drop into 'gone away', which is fair enough. But when people return it sometimes takes ages for them to move back into 'members' and that bugs me for some reason, just grates when people are 'gone away' yet active and posting.
  6. That is just wow. I thought I knew what it would look like, but, wow.Couldn't look better at this stage really Hopefully it is necessary because it contains the gas pipe for the fire effects!! Fingers crossed.
  7. Likes early Walliams/Lucas work (I've got it on dvd and still didn't recognise the quote!)
  8. :wub:A massive production incorporating touching small details, so beautifully Disney.

See 'rant'.If I were there I would have arrested her ass in a flash. I don't know how well known, how old or where this vid is from, if anyone does know a complaint can be made to police of racially aggravated public order and I'm sure local officers will happily deal with it.What chance does that kid have? Outrageous.

Glad it's not just us that thinks that, we can get a bit blinkered to the outside world in our job.Try explaining this logic to C2C. I'm on the train a lot less then I used to be!!
  11. pluk replied to Theme Park bloke's topic in The Real World
My job have always been entitled to free rail travel as we are, whether on or off duty, expected to be security and step in where required. This has been the case for time immortal. A couple of months ago this was withdrawn and now we have to pay - so you are all less looked after of the train because, you know what, I'm not sticking myself on the line beyond what the average person would for the fun of it. I'm off duty, I'm not involved. The train companies are screwing us all over. They make the tariffs so complex there is no way of getting it right. A few months ago I was sold a ticket by their staff at the desk and, like Josh, when I got to my destination they told me it was the wrong ticket but couldn't exactly say why. I left my details with the guard and said some things to him that would make the filter go off on here and walked off. I've not heard anything since. Most of them have got less of a clue than you about the correct tickets - front them out if you know you are in the right and are not taking the piss, they will rarely push it if you go at them with confidence.

I keep getting told I look like Arg from TOWIE. I don't watch that nonsense but when I told my wife she told me that he is the fat one, so I won't take it as a compliment. Also -

    Strictly.Jelly beans or Jelly babies?
  15. Oh, I'd forgotten about that. Because you could zoom and align your pic Sheikra is probably the best ORP I have (except X2 maybe, just because of the ridiculous things that beast does to your face!) I'm quite sure they'd sell more than 10x the amount at $3 - I think you'd get a huge uptake and therefore they'd make more money overall. For an emailed file I'd say about £2 was right, I really wouldn't be surprised if about 30% would take them up on it at that price, I don't know how many they currently get through but I never see the staff on Saw exactly rushed. The only problem I could see is it could damage their highly lucrative static picture trade.
  16. I would like to see it done quite cheaply tbh. I am never going to pay around a tenner for a DVD that is a bit of a novelty that'll hardly ever get watched, would much rather they knocked out an emailed file of the footage for a couple of quid. Beyond the installation of the equipment there would be no real costs for the park (run it of customer operated terminals no need for staff or burning, cds, packaging etc) and at a low low price I think the uptake would be huge. They would make a lot more money over all doing that than having the relative few forking out an extortionate rate.

It's sad that accidents lead to loss of life in any circumstance, that has not been questioned.Understanding the mechanics of exactly what happened, the underlying causes, what should have happened, failures in process, changes that have been made since to ensure no recurrence and ultimately who or what is to blame are all to me inherently interesting things.I equally can not understand how anyone with any curiosity in life can fail to find these things interesting, but there you go.

This is the bit of ride accident stories I find interesting, shame we don't get to see the outcomes so often.http://media.cmgdigital.com/shared/news/documents/2011/10/31/NTSB_REPORT.pdfNaughty Disney.

Blimey, must get to a meet one day, you seem to get to know each other really well. And people getting all precious over the word 'pubes'? Jez, lighten up!
  22. I don't deny The Swarm looks mighty fine. But is it going to be significantly better than the other B+M wingriders going up now and in the very near future all over the world? I really am not so sure. Therefore not necessarily world class, who is going to want to travel half way around the world to ride something they have an equal or better version of nearer them?It could go the Nemesis way and turn out to be practically perfect in every way, especially if the theming is epic and well maintained, and gather enough of a reputation to be truly world class. I would love to be proven wrong, but I have very severe doubts about that.
  23. Surely the measure of being world class is that people from all around the world will travel to the place to ride it? When it opened the Big One was the tallest and fastest coaster in the world so naturally it's draw really was world wide. Unfortunately it isn't very good so it has lost that world wide appeal as its records have gone.Nemesis still attracts people from everywhere because of it's reputation as one of the best. I can't see the UK getting a truly world class attraction any time soon. We simply will not get the investment / planning for tallest or fastest and with Merlins dominance they might give us some good solid rides, but the very best of anything else in the world of their type? Nah.

Oh Jesus Christ FENTON!!EDIT: Right, I give up. The embed media button is gone. What do I do? I know, I'm crap at this stuff. In fairness, this is all the computer power in my whole school when I was there, what chance would I have now?
