  1. Thanks for the info guys - will do a bit of research into it - am kinda hoping she chooses AT because I have a pass and also won't need a passport
  2. Rightio here goes - My niece turns 10 in March (I feel SO old) and my sister wants to take her somewhere - well I suggested Thorpe because my niece is a bit of a little thrillseeker and loves watching vids of coaster and such online (she said to me the other week "I watched a POV of Stealth ). Anyway, as it will be her 10th my sister was thinking along the lines of taking her away - she has looked into Disneyland Paris but told me some ridiculous price for it - so was just wondering, because a lot of you here have been to DLP, are there any reasonable deals or good places to stay? I went back in 2000 with college and stayed in one of the disney hotels but they are a tad expensive. I realllllly want to go again but damned passport has expired plus I am poor. I suggested that Alton Towers might be better for cost but my sister is umming and ahhing at the moment and nieces birthday is less than two months away - so any suggestions would be great! Cheers
  3. That waterslide looks terrifying! There is no way on earth I would go on that!!!
  4. Not everyone that goes to the meets have annual passes - you could BOGOF with someone?

RMT was my first coaster (I know it is powered but meh) - the rocks really added to the experience of it all and made the ride seemed tight and compact - feeling a tad dissapointed but guess I cant judge until seeing it for myself. Really hope Rameses is back this year ^^ YES!
  6. Adventure Island is a nice little park - I thought I would hate it as they seem to have a lot of spinny rides but was fine on them - and anyone that has a strong stomach should check out Time Machine! £12.50 is an excellent offer - that is what I paid when I went on the last day of the season last year and it was excellent value for money - nice that they have done a deal for TPMers

Great pics there - loving that Lego Ford And Storm Surge.....I remember watching a vid of it when it was at Cypress Gardens and thinking it looked really good - bit much disappointment Is that a squid surfer on one of the pics? - if so, it makes the one at Legoland Windsor look filthy!!! Looks and sounds like you had a great time

When polo mints were 10p - I used to eat a pack on the way to school and another one the way home - no wonder I have so many fillings And theme park related.....when I first went on Dragon Falls (Dragon River back then) and was so scared that I seriously contemplated getting out at the top then realised that perhaps it wasnt the best idea

That's great news Ellie! You are so right in that the person who has made you feel like this shouldn't be allowed to get away with it - I think I would also feel nervous about writing a statement but hopefully it will help and the bully will think twice before doing it again. He probably knows how you feel anyway with everything that has happened so just try to go ahead and write down exactly how everything has impacted on you. Hope you get settled into your new accomodation swiftly and don't have any a-holes to deal with!

Totally agree with this. What this person, well people are doing is so wrong - you would think that once you hit uni, that bullying would stop but sadly it isn't the case. It's clearly having a huge impact on you which is totally understandable - it can't be very nice to be surrounded by complete morons who should quite frankly know better. It is good that you have flagged it up but its obviously not gone through to their thick heads - hopefully this will get sorted. Leaving Uni or taking a year out is probably what their aim is - it's pathetic and I would say don't give them what they want but at the same time you need to think of what is best for you - things like this can cause serious stress and other problems. Can you get access to counselling with your Uni? So you can talk things over to avoid this getting too much for you - and take this issue to the highest powers at your Uni because no-one should have to go through what you are right now

You are right - that is psychological bullying and bang out of order to say the least. Can't believe that people would be so petty and nasty. You shouldn't feel like you have to lock yourself in your room but I can totally understand why you do. Definitely take it to higher powers ASAP if nothing gets sorted because things like shouldn't happen. I believe in Karma - what goes around comes around. Hope the situation gets sorted quickly

Yup just read that retheming has been postponed grrrr! On a kind of side note, my sister visited CWOA last year and I mentioned how awful Dragon Falls looks and she said she barely noticed?!! - maybe the gp aren't as aware or really care about themeing......or my sis needs a trip to spec savers

I said the exact same thing last year (first time at Thorpe since 2002!) - Don't like the look of S&S restraints. However, I finally towards the end of the season managed to get on Rush (after a LOT of persuasion) and loved it. It is a bit scary due to the height of it and you do feel a bit unsafe as you only have a lap bar (though of course it is totally safe!) but it is well worth it. Slammer on the other hand - is something I can't see me ever getting on - that, and Zodiac are the only 2 rides that I haven't done at Thorpe.
  16. Am I right in thinking that "Ski Jump" at Winter Wonderland was a similar thing? - Never got to ride it but it looked quite good, though I am a bit iffy at times with things that spin

I've never seen Fairground attractions or Ugly Betty but the rest I really enjoy - also (don't judge me on this) - Jeremy Kyle show......sad I know but it cheers me up if I am feeling cack - seeing people airing their dirty laundry in public is quite therapeutic Emmerdale I love - also Corrie. Went off Eastenders months ago as it was too depressing and boring Ah....Inbetweeners - I had never seen it before until about 4/5 months ago - so so funny and the Thorpe Park episode is classic - I think I must have watched that ep about 7 times so far and it still makes me laugh. Am a fan of Dancing on Ice - mainly due to the risk factors involved......whenever I watch it,, a small part of me is hoping that someone might do themself an injury I love sitcoms and glad to see Birds of a Feather back - I watched the original ones way back in the early 90s and when I heard that it was coming back I thought it would be naff but I thought the first episode was pretty good. Ok, waffling now
  18. You should go to a meet up - they are good fun and a great way to meet new people! On a side note - happy birthday!

Hmmm don't know what to suggest - sounds like your ex is a bit of a pleb (no offence) - from what you said it sounds like he treated you in a horrible way with making posts about his ex and saying he regrets the relationship you had? - what a plonker. Probably best to steer clear of him tbh if you can - or tell him to **** off.

OMG - I am so jealous - I have always wanted to ride Manta. And not only that......you can stroke stingrays there??!!! I have a mild obsession with them and gutted you can no longer stroke the ones at the london aquarium. Great trip report and photos - I need to beat my fear of flying and win the lotto and get my butt over to the USA!
  21. Although I hated it I went on the damn thing about 3 or 4 times - Never again though although, like yourself I would go on one with individual lapbars. On one of my rides there was a child sat next to me and I was bracing myself to catch the poor kid incase she went flying - thankfully that didn't happen!
  22. Would be great if Thorpe got a decent dark ride - especially as they are now targeting families. Wicked witches haunt was really good and such a shame that it burnt down. I haven't been on many ghost trains so am far from an expert but I really enjoyed the one at Adventure Island - probably because I had really low expectations of it, with it being a fun fair type place. But it really surprised me - also it had the longest queue that I saw in the park that day!
  23. Worse coaster - Klondike at Hayling Island by a mile. Regarding Space Mountain - that was my first inverted coaster way back in 2000 and was pretty head bangy back then - can't imagine what it is like now - although despite it giving me a massive headache I did enjoy it (mainly the epic soundtrack) Worse flatty - Extreme at Hayling Island - Miami ride with just one long lapbar which is great but you get people of varying sizes going on at the same time. At one point, my butt was on one side of my seat as it flew around at the top. I honest to God thought I was going to be catapulted out of that thing - you get some good airtime but for me, coming right out of my seat and clinging on for dear life doesn't excite me much Worse wet ride - Storm surge.....nuff said
  24. Hey - have you thought about going to one of the meet ups? Pretty sure there will be one around March time as that is when Thorpe opens up again (wooooo!)
  25. You sure you got that right Stretch?! That is insane!!! I live only 8ish miles from G'ford if you need a place to crash if that helps. I live in a mansion so plenty of room.....meh no I live in a flat but can fit 2 people in if anyone is interested and doesnt mind sleeping on either my sofa or futon
