  1. Eww imagine having lake water being dumped on you?! - It's bad enough on Loggers Leap - that water tastes pretty nasty (I don't go out of my way to drink it but - big drop/mouth open.....in it goes!)
  2. ^^ ouch! Wisdom teeth can be a pain - I had to have my bottom 2 removed (about 6 months apart) under local anaesthetic so was quite fortunate in compared to Wills experience! I used to be terrified of going to the dentist and only went when the pain got unbearable - tip if you are having tooth ache - clove oil (although this stuff tastes absolutely revolting and makes you salivate a bit too much, although it does numb the pain temporarily) - better is Anbisol which numbs the pain without the disgusting taste and works for longer if you seal it with Bonjela. Having 3 coming through at the same time I imagine is flaming painful! I was fortunate that mine popped out at different times
  3. Griffins Galleon is really tucked away in LOTD - I've been on it many times (I quite like it!) but it has never been even nearly full, even on busy days. Shame that they shoved it in that corner

I only got to ride this twice last year (first time to Towers) - went for a third go but it was having technical probs. I am kinda gutted it is going - I really enjoyed it and didn't find it too painful - this brings Alton Towers flat rides down even further - something which they are lacking IMO.
  5. ^^^ Nice colleagues you have there Phill!
  6. Am possibly going to be at TP with my niece on 22nd so have gone for 29th even though I am not a solid definite, although hope to make it
  7. Thorpe Park Chessie Possibly Paultons Park Slim chance of DLP Sister is looking into getting a Merlin Pass so maybe Alton Towers too. Oh and Hayling Island funland (whoooo) because she lives at Hayling
  8. Only ridden this once on last day of season (was too scared before-hand) Regarding restraints - would be nice if the had some where you can hold on to something.....or maybe that is just me
  9. Thanks for the info Mark - sister has never been to DLP - I went just the once 14 years ago (desperate to go back lol) - will tell her to try and plan her day, she is leaving on the Friday evening and will have the Saturday and Sunday in the parks (although only until 4pm on the Sunday). She is staying at Hotel Cheyenne (same hotel I stayed at!) and said that you get in earlier if you stay within the resort? Not sure if this is accurate as my sister gets confused at times - I think it runs in the family! From what you say it sounds like you had a good time over there so I hope that my niece enjoys it
  10. As always - great pics there! I REALLY want to ride Hulk Am I right in thinking that Dragon Challenge used to be Duelling Dragons, or am I thinking of something else?
  11. Well it turns out that she has booked DLP for 2 weeks time - am a tad jealous to say the least. She is going on a weekend and worried that it will be busy but I have no idea because I went during a weekday all those years ago. On the plus side, closer to my nieces birthday I should be able to take her to Thorpe Park
  12. Thanks for the info guys - will do a bit of research into it - am kinda hoping she chooses AT because I have a pass and also won't need a passport
  13. Rightio here goes - My niece turns 10 in March (I feel SO old) and my sister wants to take her somewhere - well I suggested Thorpe because my niece is a bit of a little thrillseeker and loves watching vids of coaster and such online (she said to me the other week "I watched a POV of Stealth ). Anyway, as it will be her 10th my sister was thinking along the lines of taking her away - she has looked into Disneyland Paris but told me some ridiculous price for it - so was just wondering, because a lot of you here have been to DLP, are there any reasonable deals or good places to stay? I went back in 2000 with college and stayed in one of the disney hotels but they are a tad expensive. I realllllly want to go again but damned passport has expired plus I am poor. I suggested that Alton Towers might be better for cost but my sister is umming and ahhing at the moment and nieces birthday is less than two months away - so any suggestions would be great! Cheers
  14. That waterslide looks terrifying! There is no way on earth I would go on that!!!
  15. Not everyone that goes to the meets have annual passes - you could BOGOF with someone?
  16. RMT was my first coaster (I know it is powered but meh) - the rocks really added to the experience of it all and made the ride seemed tight and compact - feeling a tad dissapointed but guess I cant judge until seeing it for myself. Really hope Rameses is back this year ^^ YES!
  17. Adventure Island is a nice little park - I thought I would hate it as they seem to have a lot of spinny rides but was fine on them - and anyone that has a strong stomach should check out Time Machine! £12.50 is an excellent offer - that is what I paid when I went on the last day of the season last year and it was excellent value for money - nice that they have done a deal for TPMers
  18. Oh...................jeeeeeeez I might have burped

    Legoland Florida

Great pics there - loving that Lego Ford And Storm Surge.....I remember watching a vid of it when it was at Cypress Gardens and thinking it looked really good - bit much disappointment Is that a squid surfer on one of the pics? - if so, it makes the one at Legoland Windsor look filthy!!! Looks and sounds like you had a great time

    I Remember When...

When polo mints were 10p - I used to eat a pack on the way to school and another one the way home - no wonder I have so many fillings And theme park related.....when I first went on Dragon Falls (Dragon River back then) and was so scared that I seriously contemplated getting out at the top then realised that perhaps it wasnt the best idea
  22. That's great news Ellie! You are so right in that the person who has made you feel like this shouldn't be allowed to get away with it - I think I would also feel nervous about writing a statement but hopefully it will help and the bully will think twice before doing it again. He probably knows how you feel anyway with everything that has happened so just try to go ahead and write down exactly how everything has impacted on you. Hope you get settled into your new accomodation swiftly and don't have any a-holes to deal with!
  23. Totally agree with this. What this person, well people are doing is so wrong - you would think that once you hit uni, that bullying would stop but sadly it isn't the case. It's clearly having a huge impact on you which is totally understandable - it can't be very nice to be surrounded by complete morons who should quite frankly know better. It is good that you have flagged it up but its obviously not gone through to their thick heads - hopefully this will get sorted. Leaving Uni or taking a year out is probably what their aim is - it's pathetic and I would say don't give them what they want but at the same time you need to think of what is best for you - things like this can cause serious stress and other problems. Can you get access to counselling with your Uni? So you can talk things over to avoid this getting too much for you - and take this issue to the highest powers at your Uni because no-one should have to go through what you are right now
