  1. It's updates like this that are greatly welcomed in our parks. Let's hope this is the scratch of the surface of park updates. Vampire's (original) entrance is already looking a lot better.
  2. The luck I seem to have in the ride game leaves a lot to be desired

  3. I think it's a logo that suits Chessington well for the park it is. There won't be a globe anymore in 5 years time. Could the slightly simplified logo be a possible obscure budget cut I wonder?
  4. Really liking the look of that drip so far and the miss mash of colour scheme is interesting to say the least. It's amazing how only recently we've been starting to see and learn of what this coaster might be.
  5. Interesting video, gives me vibes somewhat between the Shining and The Woman In Black [first one] for some reason. Am liking these videos and teasers so far and hope the ride will be as good.
  6. Judging from the photos, it is very difficult to pick up much in this coaster, but if it turns out to be good and I mean really good, may true get here soon as. Heck a return visit to Efteling may even be fastracked in the process. I don't know where this park is though in comparison nor how easy it is to get to however. edit- well I looked clever here didn't I
  7. Because a very tight budgeted wizard with a cold likes rundown buildings, shipping containers & abandond places too much Then again, paultons gives us a bit of hope.
  8. This is good news, Thorpe really do need a proper hotel, not several dozen shipping containers so this is strongly welcomed especially consider most other parks are at the verge of getting another hotel or form of accommodation. Can't wait til construction starts there.
  9. Oh No! The banning cuts!
  10. All this for a restaurant? Looks absolutely amazing, some of that looks near Disney quality there. Why can't we have nice stuff like this, when so many parks in Europe have been creating some master pieces lately.
  11. Whilst the park has indeed built some highly impressive rides and luckily has the ground setting and creativity to do so, it is such a great shame that the local housing positions have proved such a problem for the park that some projects have been downscaled or scrapped altogether. Apparently the recently denied water park plans originally stated for the theme park to also be extended too, but that was since downgraded. The park's planning problems seem to be similar to Legoland's and Towers to an extent. Lets hope they can eventually buy all those houses in close proximity to the park.
  12. Judging from the photos, the trip. Doesn't come across as bad as you said it was, though it's a shame you never visited Cinecitta (which as a result has an uncertain future now as it stand still). It does however look very picturesque on all the places you went, especially Rome & Pompeii and is a place I want to visit, not specifically for the theme parks.
  13. Whether it is going be used or not, I am just glad another derelict and rundown area of the park is receiving much needed love. Chessington as a whole needs a major touch up and if there's lots of major improved upkeep for 2016, I will be ten times happier of this being the investment in the park over a new ride. This probably says a lot of how the state of the park has been in recent years probably.
  14. No,no,no. Definitely needs to be Lady C, would make the maze so much better. In fact, put here at the start of the maze to rush people through and then you have a throughput improvement and a reason for it that adds to the experience.

    Legoland

That's even if they get one as Legoland Windsor is rather short on space as I'm aware (would t even know where they could put one). Might even be doing Legoland Billund next year (if I get chance), which will be great to see Ghost & Ninjago amongst the rest. With Ghost most likely for 2017, it does make me guess the 2nd hotel may now be opening for 2018 now.

    Legoland

Fantastic news! Am so glad that this application finally worked out. It's a ride perfect for Legoland in the way it should help eat crowds but also give the park dark ride/indoor attraction. In regards to when it's opening, I would say 2017 because it's probably too late to build it next year now plus also the Lego Movie thing is what's planned for 2016. On top of that, a recent report mentioned LLW would be receiving a medium investment 2017 (which chances was supposed to be Heartlake). Looks like I will at least have a Legoland pass in 2017 then. Wonder how the approval for the 2nd hotel went as so far I've heard nothing.
  17. Parks like DLP & Efteling look after their parks a lot more than Chessington (or all Merlin parks to be fair). They have more love and dedication in their nails than Chessington has in its whole body in regards to making a park good. I'm sure the same can be said in regards to Europa Park, Phantasialand, PA & Liseberg (amongst other European parks).
  18. Chances are though these will be rides that won't even be open in 2016 with Loggers being shut at Thorpe amongst Flume & the five (too many others) at Towers, so Chessington is bound to have closures next year and these seem to be the most likely with trends and apparent 2017 big investment year. Safe to Say Storm Force 10 will the tallest operating flume next year and Pirate Falls potentially bring the only open one under Merlin.
  19. TBH I font think any of the parks will be having FHT this year, am expecting towers to be closed.Chessington will probably be open but just with a small handful of rides and the zoo.
  20. Judging by the articles I've read, I think it'll still be called the Smiler. Not sure how many it'll have though, but may no longer run on 5 again. May still fuel if timings are perfectly set. It will probably take a little longer now to reset making sure where the trains are on the track when sorted. Will be interesting to see how busy towers will be in 2016 with the Smiler set to reopen but some hefty ride closures swept under the rug. Hmmmm
  21. Whoever renamed this thread deserves to win the best mod in the forum awards.
  22. Well the outcome of the investigation does not surprise me one bit and am glad the ride will be reopening again next year regardless of the press's ignorant views. That being said, this accident should have never happened in the first place and I am sure it was unavoidable, which as a result we are set for a dark age for the forseable future at our Merlin parks as a result.

    Logger's Leap

I want loggers to open and though have loosely said it will reopen, I just have to look at Chessington in 2013. Runaway mine train's rock face will be reconstructed; it wasn't. Dragon Falls will be re-themed with brand new theming; it wasn't. Part of me thinks loggers has gone, gone because of Merlin.
  24. Quite likely, I am just going by that scheduled report thing they did a few months ago. I may well not even a pass holder anymore in 2017 with the way things are going at the moment.
