  1. The entrance & clock tower theming looks rather nice and am really liking the look of the Postman pat ride. Can't say I'm a fan of the Charlie & Lola facade, although it does resemble the shows style in animation. I hope the new area includes some new animatronics & interactive elements, otherwise it will seem a bit dull compared to its predessceror Old Macdonlds & Storybook, which had the book worm & Singing Barn.
  2. Had a close call recently on (another) dog walk. Was nearly home from the walk when a small Vauxhall 4x4 of a bluish purple colour came down the lane. Whilst it was. Speeding, the car was suddenly turning in to us as we walked (as there are no pavements around there). The car came so close to us that I literally had to get as high as I could on the steep verge near some hedge (whilst relying on strong balance) otherwise I'm certain he would've run over my feet at the least. Have no idea what was up with this driver (surely drunk or drugged) but this incident was a bit scary and he was mad! Luckily no one got injured.
  3. I'm absolutely certain I've ridden both trains this year on visits to the park, and can confirm both feel pretty smooth at the moment.
  4. Wow! The area has built up and progressed very quickly (although Dodgems are a ride that can be built in one day). The area so far looks quite nice with lots of theming character and features and better than I expected. Dodgems look great and will hopefully look even better when finished and the vinyl and stuff added.
  5. Based on the plans, the hotel looks really nice and am loving how that the park basing a number of recent additions on the water/nautical theme which suites the park's image well. I'm also liking the general improvements as well, such as the new drop off area which should be an improvement on the existing one. Hopefully it will actually be happening it's been eight years since these plans have started now.
  6. Do Scorpion Express first, as the new ride (or should I day rethemed and advertised) for 2014 I expect it will get big queues, some days it's been as long as 90 minutes (which is crazy for a small'ish powered coaster (fish doesn't even reach 30 minutes on a very busy Thorpe day)). Next, try and get Fury, Kobra, Vampire and TombBlaster done (and falls if the weather is nice). If the coasters go above 45 minutes (or more), it may bad best to try again later. It may also be best having an early/ late lunch as the ride queues may be slightly quieter at lunchtime plus it may be worth just queuing for a ride just before closing I.E Fury.
  7. I think it would be great if Thorpe would get a dark ride type attraction for next year. Assuming we don't see that next big coaster until 2017, we do need something relatively large investment wise in between plus I think the park need at least 2 dark ride attractiones (on top of X) to complete the ride selection there.
  8. You are the weakest ban goodbye!
  9. Banned for running away from stones
  10. Wow! That looks amazing. The attention to detail on his ride is superb and seems to be an excellent addition to the Harry potter lineup. As a big Harry potter fan, can't wait to see the final result and hope I get to ride this one day.
  11. I would strongly be in favour of a two meet thing, mainly for reason mentioned above but on the aspect I would love to see another moderate-long distance meet (wish I voted Oakwood as well) as it's great to visit parks I rarely get to visit (hoping I can go), whilst its always good to get visits to Thorpe especially with these fantastic summer night events too.
  12. This is good news for the project. I strongly hope this park takes place so we finally have a world class park on our island (Alton Towers isn't quite world class these days) plus, the last major themepark we actually received (to my knowledge) was Legoland and that's nearly 20 years ago now (digger land & dickens world aren't that big). Plus we could also do with some much needed competition here as everything here is currently pretty much dominated by Merlin (and will probably continue to do so far many years if this park doesn't happen).

    Legoland

I don't know much about the attraction, except its a haunted house style attraction (but of course aimed at young families). I believe it has a walk through section, pre-show and drop tower. Could describe it really as Legoland/kids Sub-Terra ride (as already mentioned). Apparently it's going east of boating school. Wonder will it will be going and could this mean the end of Baloon Schhol?
  14. Add fastrack sales and they may also have the slowest loading Dodgems as well.
  15. Disneyland Paris That was all I wanted
  16. I chose Paultons because I've not been to that park yet, plus there's Cobra and many other exciting additions there. That being said, I don't mind where we go and would be happy for a meet to any of these. It would be nice to go back to Oakwood again as it's such a great park and their after dark events are brilliant (transport could be a problem though) p,us Thorpe is easy to get to for me plus there will also be summers nights running = more rides on Inferno etc.
  17. Banned for not being scared
  18. Banned for not loving Inferno (It was my first looping coaster I ever did and could happily ride it all day).
  19. Just come back from a dog walk. After using a public footpath and going through a gate with the dog to a road where there are no footpaths, I'm there waiting for the right moment to walk up the lane when loads of cars in each direction are going past, some of which are either turning around or pulling out of nearby houses. When the road was clear, I walked out on the road with the dog on the inside whilst I go in the direction of forthcoming traffic (which I believe is the correct way on roads without footpaths). Not far away on the other side of the road, an old man is walking by with another dog. When I start walking up the lane away, he then shouts at me telling me to move my dog from the bloody road. I quickly walk on saying nothing and not batting an eyelid. I hate it when there are people who are arrogant, selfish and think they own places and public services when the road, lane or so it may be is for everyone to use and doesn't belong to them. Whilst I reacted to the incident quite calmly, I feel to have been spoken to like that in a public space to be unacceptable and treated like I'm a useless piece of trash and humiliated too. It just gives me a bitter taste in my mouth. It's not acceptable when people think they are better than everyone.
  20. Currently able to do the 7th & 8th and 28th & 29th June. Plan to try and stay at hotel too, should be a great trip hopefully. Edit- Would be extremely grateful if someone could get me a lift there, will pay you petrol money and buy you a drink too (if anything can be arranged).
  21. Banned MIT Ausdruck Frolich
  22. Banned for riding Europe's steepest drop on a log flume before me
