  1. I'M A BACK SEAT ANARCHIST! WHO CARES! THIS TOPIC IS GETTING MORE UNCOMFORTABLE THAN Colossus'S RESTRAINTS!
  2. Toadies only runs three cars these days The way Chessington is going though, it'll just be a few hotels, a zoo and a few puppet shows with the way things are going. Toadies only runs three cars these days. Judging it takes 3 minutes to complete the circuit, add two minutes for loading/unloading, you're looking at about a maximum of 12 people every 5 minutes. When you times that by 6 the potential result is the ride takes around 144 people per hour [PPH]. That is a terrible throughput for a ride at Chessington [let alone other parks] and knowing the park it's probably even less. This means if there's only a dozen parents with a couple of kids queuing, youre already looking at a good 15 minutes or more queue time. Real investment needed in the park would be: redeveloping the leftside of Wild Asia and putting a dark ride where the play house and maybe other rides are, Ripping out Toadies for a thrilling fun family coaster [Juvelin, smaller Taron] starting from scratch on a new dark ride for Tomb Blaster [like Ratatouille or Gringotts]

the first one, I have no idea what they mean Phantom Of The Opera or Les Miserables?
  4. It's safe to say that Hollywood, Geiser and Nighthawk are all on borrowed time now. I doubt any of them will still exist in the next 3-5 years. I wonder what the next move for the park will be after this? surely some new attraction is bound for the now demolished Atlantis site now [maybe a small dark ride]. Think I heard a while back they're trying one more time for the water park and hotel extension, but I know it's been very difficult for the park to get planning for those [or anything outside the theme park footprint in general].

Nagashima Spa Land, Steel Dragon and that flying coaster thing for the winning! Weatherspoons or Yates?
  6. Benin is right You have lots of parks out there that have planning barriers but are still able to get around them creatively. Take Phantasialand for example with its neighbours where the park tables this by building attractions indoors or surrounded by heavy theming. Or Europa Park with the agreements of silver star. Even sister park's like Towers & Lego have done a better job of tackling planning issues as at least they're trying to tackle them. Sadly Chessington just isn't fighting. It's walking away.
  7. For example, they could always move the zoo enclosures on to greenbelt surely and then use where the old enclosures were for theme park extension possibly. I don't know I'm not a planning expert.

Carbon Dioxide, trees need it Pizza Hut or Dominoes?
  9. Me, when Chessington builds anything exciting and worthwhile Planning isn't the main issue though. There may be something higher up refusing greatness.
  10. Ok, so here's my latest Vlog, from the Alton Towers Resort. This features the new Galactica, park updates and more.

In-house, we need creativity and originality. Dubai Investment Capital [DIC] or Merlin?

Williamsburg, pucturesque perfect (soon with wood) Shockwave or G force?
  13. The ride building from the first shots looks absolutely loverly. This is arguably Merlin's best theming they've done yet. Sadly those red sheds do detract from the great theming which is a shame, especially being on a main pathway. I just hope they can conceal it as it does stick out, would be nice if they could theme it eventually. I know most dark rides have areas where their (unthemed) buildings are exposed including Bubbleworks, Hex, Tombs and even Disney rides (in some cases). But this exposure seems more noticeable.
  14. This comes across as Sam being bored due to Chessington's level of disappointment. This is because

  17. Chessington is a gas leak though especially how smelly operations and things are these days.
  18. Blow me down! Equoster mentioning he's going to Orlando shocks me a lot. Next thing you know I'll be saying I've not been to Orlando ever which I'm sure has not been said. Some things are so surprising here!
  19. I say reinstall the parts on the bus and bring the ride back to it's working glory. If county hall collapses through the strain, it's no big loss.
  20. Walibi are doing very bizarre but interesting concepts lately. This looks essentially like a cross between a water coaster with the layout of a disko. IMA score soundtrack for the winning though.
  21. Still haven't been Drayton Manor. My contribution is done for now.
  22. I take this as opportunity to remorse over the better days of Chessington. RIP Good Chessington of the past
  23. It seems the moving bus is all ogre now.
