I would like to see the park offer more themed areas and experiences. Firstly, that Go Kart track needs to go as it looks remarkably out of place and is a good land chunk. This could make way for a decent family thrill coaster like Benin has mentioned. A small woodie like Heidi at Plopsaland would be great. I kno it may not happen, but it would suit the park so well. An updated flume and maybe a dark ride on some level would also be great and make the park an even better place to go.

Theme Park enthusiasts when the ride opens for the first time.

snooker, yah Chinese or Indian takeaway?

Thirteen is probably my second favourite coaster in the park. It's also likely my second favourite ride too [until Hex reopens anyay]. It features so much fun and thrill at the same time. I don't think there's any other coasters in the UK that can compromise an attraction to families and thriller seekers like Thirteen does.

I think this promotional video definitely confirms Paultons is now officially one of the leading parks in the UK. Lost Kingdom looks a fantastic area, which will hopefully be a massive success to them. A visit this year is definitely on the cards.

I found it rough on day one (summer 2009). There I said it!

I just like second opinions. I have a general idea on how it works out but want to ensure failure is avoided.

I'm looking at doing Phantasialand later this year with a couple of people for the first time. What's the best thing accomodation wise? Normally I tend to slum it on these trips [due to tight budgets], but the park's hotels look remarkably nice and cheap too. Would this be the best option even on a budget? What's the easiest/cheapest way to get to the park from Cologne transportwise, is it comparable to getting t Efteling? Will probably be a 1.5-2 day trip. What is the best/cheapest option for park tickets?

The Chessington Adventure Tree

Toadies only runs three cars these days The way Chessington is going though, it'll just be a few hotels, a zoo and a few puppet shows with the way things are going. Toadies only runs three cars these days. Judging it takes 3 minutes to complete the circuit, add two minutes for loading/unloading, you're looking at about a maximum of 12 people every 5 minutes. When you times that by 6 the potential result is the ride takes around 144 people per hour [PPH]. That is a terrible throughput for a ride at Chessington [let alone other parks] and knowing the park it's probably even less. This means if there's only a dozen parents with a couple of kids queuing, youre already looking at a good 15 minutes or more queue time. Real investment needed in the park would be: redeveloping the leftside of Wild Asia and putting a dark ride where the play house and maybe other rides are, Ripping out Toadies for a thrilling fun family coaster [Juvelin, smaller Taron] starting from scratch on a new dark ride for Tomb Blaster [like Ratatouille or Gringotts] -
the first one, I have no idea what they mean Phantom Of The Opera or Les Miserables?

It's safe to say that Hollywood, Geiser and Nighthawk are all on borrowed time now. I doubt any of them will still exist in the next 3-5 years. I wonder what the next move for the park will be after this? surely some new attraction is bound for the now demolished Atlantis site now [maybe a small dark ride]. Think I heard a while back they're trying one more time for the water park and hotel extension, but I know it's been very difficult for the park to get planning for those [or anything outside the theme park footprint in general].

Nagashima Spa Land, Steel Dragon and that flying coaster thing for the winning! Weatherspoons or Yates?

The Chessington Adventure Tree

Benin is right You have lots of parks out there that have planning barriers but are still able to get around them creatively. Take Phantasialand for example with its neighbours where the park tables this by building attractions indoors or surrounded by heavy theming. Or Europa Park with the agreements of silver star. Even sister park's like Towers & Lego have done a better job of tackling planning issues as at least they're trying to tackle them. Sadly Chessington just isn't fighting. It's walking away. -

For example, they could always move the zoo enclosures on to greenbelt surely and then use where the old enclosures were for theme park extension possibly. I don't know I'm not a planning expert. -
Carbon Dioxide, trees need it Pizza Hut or Dominoes?

Me, when Chessington builds anything exciting and worthwhile Planning isn't the main issue though. There may be something higher up refusing greatness. -
Ok, so here's my latest Vlog, from the Alton Towers Resort. This features the new Galactica, park updates and more.
