Safe to say Chrssongton bought fencing this year in bulk. Hence why most looks the same. It's a matter of time before Merlin open a B&Q at one of their parks (or is that wood for the new woodie).

X there was no way out as I never did XNWO McCoy's or Kettle Chips

Judging from that, the throughput on this thing is going to be Phantastic! Pretty excited for the restaurant too. If it's going to be as greatly themed as the rides themselves we could be in for another real treat!

The Next Big Investments will be: Alton Towers- 2018 SW8, A wooden coaster with scare actors, an abandond haunted theme and with a physchological new element never found before. OPening in May. It will also use VR Thorpe Park- A Take Me Out themed wooden coaster, inkeeping with Thorpe's likings for IP's, which themes around finding the one. If you don't enjoy it, all the lights will go out. Heide Park, new gerstaluer ride with smiler trains called, Warrior. It will essentially be varied layout of the Smiler and will have at least two jolts in it too. Gardaland, another gerstaluer which will be like Saw the ride but with launches. It will be based on Shrek due to Merlin's love of IP's and feature lapbars. It will be the only merlin gerst ever built to not feature a jolt due to Gardaland seeming being the best park. Chessington- Air The Blade will be opening in 2027 where Wild Asia is because the park could not find any more space. The ride like most of Chessington's rides will use excessive led lighting, have a cattle pen queueline and feature a pre-show. It is expected by this stage that Vampire still exists but has seen new supports installed to reinforce the old supports which were reinforced by supports supporting the supports a while ago. Toadies, dragon falls, sea storm and buccanner don't exist. Tomb does but is literally just an empty warehouse with nothing in. Tomb Blaster was re-done in 2022, but due to Merlin's extreme kneejerk to safety, all the theming had to be removed and the budget for new smaller theming was cut, due to the failure of Thorpe's Candy Crush land area. Ride fences are now so extreme, they are literally taller than the rides now and need fences around the fences to fence the fences in the fences.

If this was Beanoland, it would fit in generally well. Unfortunately it isn't Beanoland so it doesn't. Merlin's favourite sport is obviously fencing.

Did my first ride on Tombs 2.0 here's what stuck out. The queue line area and entrance are practically identical to what was there before, except the occasional redone up area and the new entrance logo which looks a bit too action packed. Indoor queue bit was probably the most improved. Improved lighting visual fresh ups, better audio and return of the bottomless pit which was great. Ride vehicles look and feel no different than they were last time except the addition of new score boards and gun system which feels considerably heavier than the old ones. Ride itself feels like a lost opportunity. The redone theming looks nice as does the occasional UV, but there's lots of problems. UV seems to expose more non ride elements such as making fire exits and the metal shell building more exposed as a result. The snake room is the only room that is as good as it was once. Whilst the audio quality is noticeably better, the lack of sound effects through theorise feels rather underwhelming to say the least and removes much soul from the attraction IMHO. The new targets look too clunky and feel like they were just slapped around randomly in a last minute job. Some effects are still broken and are more noticeable like the Boulder. Worth the 800k? Definitely not Aside from freshening some of the ride, it feels not just like a missed opportunity but has made the ride even worse. It's like a film series where the first film was outstanding, the second excellent, the third mixed but watchable and the latest one being poor. Abdab disapproves!

Chessington Empire Strikes Back Meet 16th April 2016

I'm disgustingly upset you couldn't make it either as it has broken our traditional meet anniversary, which like the ride that started our friendship skyway is gone. Happy recovery though.Anyway, that still didn't ruin a fantastic day. Chessington meets in the past have proved highly enjoyable and was great seeing familiar faces again amongst a few new ones. I had a short but successful domination in empires before becoming Peaj's first victim eventually resulting in Adam winning. Creaky trip vlog on the way soon which could be my most flamboyant yet!- 76 replies

So, which political party do you tend to vote for? Matt Creek Party, because, er I'm in it. Which politicians really annoy you? Those that don't condone fun, theme parks and shows. Matt Creek party condones fun stuff What are your opinions on the EU referendum? We need to build a direct train service from the UK to Europa Park. With possible future routes to Efteling, Disneyland Paris and Port Aventura. What do you think about Osborne's budget? I have absolutely no idea how much he spends shopping, I am sorry!
-
That's the first I've heard from it. Looks a fine ride and am sure it'll beat Silver Star.
-
Show, it just like the word that is all. Fireworks or Water jets?
-
Arrow suspended, I hear they are crazy in a good way despite having a floor . Atlantica Super Splash or Posiden?
-
Latest construction update on Symbolica, which at 35 million euros is apparently the park's most expensive attraction to date. One wall already in place. Safe to say the ride's footprint is much larger than I was expecting. That's assuming it occupies most of the currently empty site pictured. Look forward to seeing the end result on this one.

Has certainly been an exciting day for ride tesiting so far. Mako looks great so far.
-
Really enjoy your write ups Ben. I've always heard generally good things about Tripsdrill despite knowing little about it and I think your write up summarises it well. Judging from what's been said it reminds me a little of a smaller Efteling [on the nature side of things] in some ways. It's definitely a park I would like to see one day [likely once I've ticked off all the main European parks].

Cheetahs never sleeping again or always feeling tired?
-
No one should be gunned down for liking Thirteen. If it was something like Storm Surge, Zufari, Grand Prix or Impissible though maybe not.
-
The dodgems were the best then. They were great.
-
Still, it's an improvement over anything on that scale before throughput wise. For a park like Walibi Belgium (which I don't think is one of the top visited parks) it will be fine. I'm sure it'll still be better than almost all Chessington's throughputs too.

Island Like No Other, never liked the big heads. Beano Land or Wild Asia?
