I think if people want to see concerts then they will go to an actual venue, not a budget setup in the middle of a theme park.
Alton and Thorpe have both played with the concert idea and it definitely has proven underwhelming so I think the park won't bother in the future. If they had a actual stage and a way of organising the events better (like Europa does) then it might actually work, but currently they don't have that dedicated arena area.
I honestly would like to see Amity Beach bulldozed for anything, I don't care if its a arena or a bouncy castle.
I honestly think anything would be better than Amity Beach at the moment, its such a worthless and stupid waste of space. A tacky outdoor waterpark in the usually very overcast southeast england. At least Storm Surge appeals to a wider range, Amity Beach and the slides appeal to kids only on hot days only (which is once every blue moon..)
It looks like a pile of crap to boot.
Why does everything Merlin do have to appeal to specific just you. The beach is a key driver of families to the park during the summer.

It doesn't help that's it's not near any train stations, so getting there isn't easy if you don't have a car, or if you want to drink at an event (which I'd imagine most would).
What a load of rubbish, there's a shuttle bus running every 10mins lol more of which could be put on depending on event demand.
Staines station is also 35 mins out of London.

Good for the younger audience I guess, but aren't they both small buildings? Not going to be a very long ride surely?
Wait till you try it before judging, this project has been kept relatively secretive who knows what could be built.
Besides, the ghost trains at WW are short but you still pay £6 for them.....
-
This system just seems stupid, imagine rocking u to the park at 8am, paying full entry fee and still not being able to join the queue for this ride....

thanks for the clarification.

Could someone please send me the Merlin and Thorpe park manual for health and safety on detonator. This needs clarification. I was mortified the other day when I went on hangover and there was no seat-belt.

Legoland has a good list of rides open in half term. MAP holdrs will still complain a day out will cost £5pp

I believe Wastelands is getting an expansion to make it a muti-floored maze.

Given how the park is cutting back on opening hours for quieter days next year I'd also presume they're going to go back to only being on 1 train/ min train capacity for SAW/TWD:TR on most coasters during the quieter days.
I've also never understood the 10am openings given how most people tend to arrive at the park at 12. I'd rather see the park open at 12 and close later than open really early especially as most people don't live close enough to be able to wake up at a reasonable hour.
They could also use that extra 2 hours to actually clean the park.
What do all those at the shark do til 12 then?

When are the dead days?
As Matt, just said the first 3 Thursday / Friday nights of fright nights.
The park really does lack atmosphere on these days.

This news just shows how cruel enthusiast twitter can sometimes be.

Exactly. That, and wearing your pass around your neck just looks silly innit.
Also, please ban Josh for saying "there" instead of "their" ❤️
In fact, whilst I'm here, ban everyone h8ing on Stealth.
F**k Stealth last time man in the locker booth wouldn't let me ride.

Gosh enthusiasts are hard to please arn't they. Lucky there in the visitor minority.
-
The one thing that does annoy me though, is why do they allow, phones and large cameras etc, for the average guest the immersion and experience will be ruined because your average Joe wants to get 1,000 views on YT.
Whilst everyone else has a camera blocking the action.

The ride which has been proclaimed as the worlds best by enthusiasts who haven't ridden it yet has broken down.
Also it's at capacity, do people in Florida just not work and go to Disney.

Apologies I don't have the knowledge of some enthusiasts. My speciality is TPR.

So Tayto Park ultimately decided to put in a set of new plans for the combined coasters, which they hope to open in 2021. Plans can be seen here: http://www.eplanning.ie/MeathCC/AppFileRefDetails/AA191588/0
They're still going for a Vekoma Suspended Thrill Coaster (STC) and Family Boomerang combo that are intertwined, but have made some minor changes, including a shorter and rather different STC. Main stats:
STC:
Length: 728m
Max speed: 80kph (~50mph)
Height: 31m
Duration: 99secs
Boomerang:
Length: 244m
Max speed: 58kph (~36mph)
Height: 21.8m
Duration: 70secThe coasters that were originally planned for Tayto are ending up at Tripsdrill and opening next year (something which was apparently rumoured to happen before all this happened).
Hopefully this is enough to convince the council of approving it, and it looks like it'd be a decent investment for the park!
Someone should develop an LSM lift hill to prevent chain noise.

If anything its going in the other direction, thorpe have advertised for lifeguards, so your beach is going nowhere besides its part of the history of thorpe park.
Apologies if that doesn't fit your enthusiast agenda.
