I never understand how the Sun get away with this. Merlin could just pull there min yearly promotion as the result of bad press.
-
Remember also as a family run park they will be able to make a decision of the next steps there and then, rather than a cooperation like Merlin where it may take a while to get approval /sign off.

Must of been budget cuts.

The amount this park is adding in such a short time is simply remarkable. Several coasters in just a few years.
Whilst some of the investments (especially in the early years) are very questionable, I don’t know any other park that’s expanding anywhere near the level of this place,
Could easily name at least a couple of parks back home that need a large scale coaster.
Europe is partiality funding the park as well as lots of other successful business probably as a brand awareness type project. Just a shame so many people voted out and will make it harder to get to these parks and the chance of a Europe funded Thorpe RMC!

Alton Towers: STARGAZING PODS, WICKERMAN, DUNGEONS, CUCKOO RE-THEME?
Chessington: CAROUSEL, TIGER ROCK + AREA RE-THEME, GRUFFALO, ROTB, NEW ROADS
Legoland: CASTLE HOTEL, NINJAGO RIDE, MAD HOUSE, JUNIOR COASTER
Thorpe Park: used flats, twd:tr, half day operational dbgt:rotd
I wouldn't get your hopes up for Thorpe. It's not in the Merlin planned pipeline for investment.

Yikes, that's truly shocking to pull them at such short notice once people will have already booked accommodation and planned their visits etc.
Have Thorpe been taking lessons from Pleasure Beach? Although in a way this is worse!
I would say calling it shocking is a tad dramatic.

That would make my day for less queues but I am going 21st of October during the October half term it was still very busy the day I went last October in the middle of the week on the Wednesday I have tried to organise to go the last Friday but my mate has work the next day
Cool Story! Be prepared to buy lots of fast tracks.
First couple of weeks on the Thursday is where it's at, low crowds.

Alton are celebrating roller coaster week in style. Expect John Wardley to be mobbed by enthusiasts, disappointed MAP holders who didn't get a pin badge so resort to crying children and offers on entry.

I maybe wrong but do the new RAP cards not have a barcode which staff on the merge point can scan on the phones which also scan fastrack?
I wonder if eventually the thing will be a lot more automated and when the card is scanned it will know how long that rides queue is and won’t scan till that time is over - possibly cutting out a lot of the abuse.
Accesso wouldn't have the capabilities for that level of technology.

Dubai is alright, it's got a Waitrose and everything.
For me its a principle thing. Just because the Middle East is far worse does not in anyway excuse the stance that the Polish government and Polish media is currently presenting. Until this stance is softened, I'd rather ride an RMC in a more welcoming country like the Netherlands and Sweden.
Multiple Waitrose. Even an M&S if that floats your boat.

I've not done Room on The Broom due to a self imposed Merlin ban so I might be wrong to suggest it, but why isn't it like Hex with an automated door or curtain between the scenes? An obvious way to batch people through isn't it?

This looks crazy. I will probably be to tall for it but oh well maybe I can just pretend to be immersed?

Which brings me nicely to something else that “grinds my gears” in the words of Peter Griffin.
THE “GP”!!
Enthusiasts who think there better than the GP because they visit the parks more than once a year.......

I think the layout is interesting when it comes to ticketing. How will it work? With the hotel and food/ beverage area presumably they would be free to all? Then will the themed sections each have there own ticket / gate? Interesting times ahead with this development.

Looks good, perhaps a tad dark in theme but soon you will be Mrs T

Paultons is probably the last hope we currently have for the UK industry. They are an authentic park with intention of constant improvement in all areas and remain strongly successful for their key audience.
I sadly cannot say the same for the majority of other UK parks. Sure a couple of smaller things are better or least terrible but things on the whole have slipped very noticeably.
One just needs to look at old Town amongst other areas. Smaller parks like Bobblejaan are pushing the boat further now, let alone the Dutch and German park’s which are arguably where many of the best European parks currently are!
Until they lose the Peppa Pig IP for UK to Merlin....
