  1. Who knows maybe brave it backwards and X were good for thorpe after all
  2. It seems that even though it was Alton Towers big year with The Smiler, in terms of pulling more guests in then the year before, CWOA and Thorpe annihilated Towers with Towers 4.2% increase! European top 3 was In this order Disneyland, Europa Park and Walt Disney Studios. With Disneyland now 6th most visited park on the planet and Europa for the first time in the top 20 at 20th in terms of attendance. Merlin overall did well as well retaining their 2nd spot: 1: WALT DISNEY ATTRACTIONS Change: 4.8% 2013: 132,549,000 2012: 126,479,000 2: MERLIN ENTERTAINMENTS GROUP Change: 10.7% 2013: 59,800,000 2012: 54,000,000 3: UNIVERSAL PARKS AND RESORTS Change: 5.3% 2013: 36,360,000 2012: 34,515,000 Merlin seem to be doing very well for themselves!!
  3. wait... what??????????
  4. Looks like it was designed by the same company almost
  5. I don't think so, smaller rides half the time are better then these huge beasts in america. Although big is good sometimes Full sized dive machines if that's what I can call them are very expensive just for a basic layout like Oblivion or even SheiKra.
  6. Krake has the smaller track, so knowing merlin they will probably do this with this one and it is most likely the 6 seat wide one as it is cheaper then the oblivion style 8 across wide gauge track and the fact that in that area most of it is white rides, It wouldn't surprise me that this is the track.
  7. Dive coaster track anyone?
  8. Double post but Flight of Fear's motors caught on fire... Source: http://www.wcpo.com/web/wcpo/news/local-news/warren-county/mason/report-kings-island-flight-of-fear-indoor-roller-coaster-catches-fire Well thats unfortunate for now atleast anyway.
  9. I think it will definitely be and RMC upgrade, I know this is coincidence but both Iron Rattler both had these posted up next to the rides. Both closing at around the same time. Plus Screamscape got intel from Six Flags that and RMC Iron Horse reboot was on the cards for the near future. So seeing how Six flags are RMC'ing all their old woodies this is one of the most likely things happening.
  10. And I thought Europa Park had amazing throughputs

    Slammer

YES, I finally can go on it, been wanting to for ages now!
  12. Another video showing the diveloop, the hangtime is a little over excessive!
  13. Maybe putting a cattle pen around the track, because The Smiler doesn't have enough tbh.
  14. here is a video showing it go over its 2 airtime hills.
  15. Dodgems I loved the dodgems because well... they are dodgems, can't fault them, the 4D cinema was good but I felt getting rocked back and forth constantly and getting water in the face a stupid amount of times got a little tedious other then that the retheme has done what it set out to do and the area looks quite nice
  16. It has been reported that one of the workers that have been struck by the train has died from his injures, which means the ride will be delayed even further pending investigations into what happened during the incident.
  17. From the interwebs: BREAKING NEWS two injured workers on the "Arthur the Ride" site, the new Inverted Powered Coaster of Europa Park. Thus, during the tests which took place this afternoon, two workers have been violently hit by one of the trains of attraction. One of the two workers of 35 years would be seriously injured. A Police-led investigation is underway to determine the exact causes of the accident. Case to follow... #Aymeric Sources: Badische Zeitung (Translated by Bing)
  18. Even though I don't really want another IP, on the plus side at least Dr Who isn't a dead or dying franchise and would make a cracking dark ride in my view but then I would still rather merlin use their own imagination for their next ride

    Oakwood

It would have opened normal time but megafobia was down for nearly 2 hours because the restraints and airgates refused to open so all the engineers went over there. But even then the amount of people who went over at once to make the queue that big at least the ride still has decent interest even when virtually dead EDIT: For some reason Bounce is only doing the 2 shot cycles again like last time I went. Shot I'm told is having major problems with the air compressors I have heard, must be something only Huss can sort out as it will have been like this for a while and if it was an Easy fix I'm sure it would have been sorted by now!

    Oakwood

No it actually had a decent sized queue... It opened at 3:10pm on the day we went so by the time it had opened there were a good 50 or 60 wanting to go despite the weather and the dispatches were decent for Drenched.
  21. Well it looks like from what I am hearing that UKIP has done well in the European elections, france's version of UKIP has confirmed to have won on that front. In Greece the anti-Europe Syriza party topped the poll with around 27 per cent of the vote and anti-Islam Danish People’s Party also came first in that country’s elections. Also in Germany it is said that it looks like the winners will be the National Democratic Party of Germany, whom in the past have been accused of Neo Nazi like traits. Doesn't look good for the European Union as a whole at the moment.

Tidal wave's still goes quite far to the side. Drenched's wave is more of a 3 second full force in the face of water, then dissipates completely, whereas Tidal wave's is more of a 2 seconds of nothing, then a tonne of water just land on you out of nowhere. They are different experiences, although Tidal does get you wetter, Drenched's drop is better

I took this video of Drenched yesterday after going on it twice. I was surprised how many people went on the ride with the train usually being full even though the park was dead. Just shows that it still draws a crowd even on a dead day!

    Oakwood

I went to Oakwood today. This was my ride count Megafobia x14 Speed x10 Drenched (Hydro) x2 Bounce x2 Bobsleigh x2 Skull Rock x1 Treetops x1 Pedalos x1 Pirate ship x1 Spooky 3D x1 Snake River Falls x1 Tinks Flying School x1 I'm battered and bruised but I just loved it, Speed is still my favourite Gerst and Megafobia in the rain is just total NOMNOM!! We did Drenched in the rain... twice... don't pity me it was my fault but it was the best run I have ever had at the park. I just wish it had more to back up the likes of Speed and Megafobia now.
