    So guys this ride is NOT A SPINNER!!!! It is Mack's take on the Skyrush Concept with 2 seats on the track and 2 winged seats, and there will be 2 rows of this coaster a little bit like a gerstlauer Eurofighter.

    Good News Lightwater valley finally turned a Profit last year !

     

     

    Lightwater Valley returned to profit in the year ending 31 January 2015, following several years of consecutive losses.

     

    The North Yorkshire theme park recorded a pre-tax profit of £110,000 as a result of the 2014 season, following £168,000 losses in the previous year.

    Company accounts show that turnover at the North Yorkshire theme park increased by almost 8%, to £6.28 million.

    The return to profit follows a number of years of loss-making at the park, which is operated by Heritage Great Britain.

    The years to 31 January 2012 and 2013 saw losses of £55,000 and £500,000 respectively.

    Moffat who has had some questionable episodes and was a polarising figure within the Dr Who Community is stepping down as head writer and being replaced by Broadchurch's Chris Chubnall, which I think is exciting to see a fresh face in writing new dr who stories.

     

    The very bad news is we wont see a full series till 2017 and the only episode this year will be the christmas special :(

    My God I have never seen such a moany bunch in all my life, yeah some of the trailers aren't the best teasers in the world, but they are just that, teasers, we don't know what the ride is going to do or even what it 100% is. So before people jump to the "I'm so disappointed conclusion" remember to wait before saying anything like this ride is gunna be poo, as we know nothing, so people should stop acting like they have already ridden as we know nothing. I for one am I excited for this and interested into seeing what Thorpe can do with £35 mil :D

    So it looks like Oakwood might have a little contender on its hands...

     

     

    Llanelli Theme Park plan could bring 'as many jobs as Trostre works'
     

     

    EXCITING plans to build a theme park "twice the size of Oakwood" in Llanelli have been revealed this week.

    Gateway Resort are gearing up to submit a planning application early next year that would see a 20 acre site developed just off the A484.

    Owner Ken Strelley said the project could take two years and would create "as many jobs as in Trostre Steel works".

    "People drive through Carmarthenshire to get to Pembrokeshire, but that's about to change," he said.

    "We're going for the family market and it will be rides to suit families rather than the mega thrill rides, something like Drayton Manor.

    "Though we wouldn't be trying to compete with them, the site would be twice the size of Oakwood."

    The plan is for 26 rides across the site, which will become the Gateway Resort from Easter.

    One of them will traverse the lake within the site and will be licensed as the only one of its kind in Britain.

    Vekoma Ride Manufacturing, one of the largest roller coaster builders in the world, have been lined up to design and install the ride.

    Mr Strelley says some of the planning applications will be for full permission and some for outline as the site is developed.

    The exact theme for the park is still being decided upon.

    "We have looked at the demographic for the area and a lead theme park designer so we know this will work," added Mr Strelley.

    "There will be a large indoor barn full of rides and a 4D virtual reality simulator, of which there is only one other in the world, in Canada.

    "It can be used for all kinds of things such as simulating a balloon ride over Niagra Falls.

    "We are looking at this as a two year project and when it is complete it will provide as many jobs as in Trostre Steel works.

    "I'd like to thank the planning department and Huw Parsons in regeneration and tourism for their support and advice in developing this project."

    Carmarthenshire Council Leader Emlyn Dole said: "These are exciting plans which could generate more jobs and prosperity for Llanelli and Carmarthenshire.

    "Tourism is a booming business here and the location is right to attract people from all different parts of Wales and beyond.

    "It's good to see a local business expanding and I look forward to seeing the development progress."

    While I think this is unlikely I think Oakwood having a contender would be a good thing to make them push forward as a theme park to strive to make the place better then the state it is in now ...

     

     

    Although the fact they have drafted in vekoma to do all the coasters is a little worrying especially when one of the models on the early map looks suspiciously like an SLC...

    Also they have labled 2 ride one called stinger and one called flying welshman which means if they are all vekoma then we have 2 vekoma flying coasters in one park...

    The Person that posted this on Coasterforce and Theme Park Review, as said that the notice under this sign pretty much says that the outer seats give a more then intense ride with aggressive vibrations and those that don't wise to experience this to use the inner seats.

     

    As well as this it has been said that the outer seats in rows 1, 5 and 6 have been shut off until further notice due to the aggressive nature of those seats...

    Although the park has said they will not be changing the trains anytime soon. As much as Furius Baco is a pain, it is sad that this is being left to get this bad rather then trying to find a possible solution for it.

    But  for me unlike Smiler for those rides bar Colossus there are actually OTHER things than Inversions to them.

    Even Colossus has that crazy bunny hop which IMO 10x better than Smiler's bunny hops.

    Also The Smiler IMO has just no force to it, and you can't really say its that smooth either..

    I like Smiler, I'm glad its opening again. But I wouldn't say its the UK's best.

    There is literally no force or airtime in that hill what so ever and I think quite a lot will agree with that!! Smiler's are much much better!
