  1. Update looks great! ...but no water rides in a summer update?

"Look...John??!" "YOU'VE KNOWN ME FOR 6 YEARS AND YOU DON'T KNOW MY NAME???"
  3. So far I have no experience from the restaurants there but ride-wise I suggest working your way around the park. Start with Furius Baco for this reason. Or, if you're that paranoid about queues then it'll probably be best to just get Shambhala out the way.
  4. Well to be honest I second Mermite on her point and you've just crossed the line. (notice how I didn't use "tbh" there? )
  5. The voice of everyone's favourite cheese-loving inventor, Peter Sallis, has died aged 96. Absolutely gutted. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-40165443?ocid=socialflow_facebook&ns_mchannel=social&ns_campaign=bbcnews&ns_source=facebook
  6. I just find it surprising yet amazing how independent parks can be capable of creating such brilliant theming and effects. I'm pointing all ten fingers at Efteling and Phantasialand here. Baron 1898 has theming Merlin have NEVER touched the quality of.
  7. Last tuesday...so not that long ago prior to ArtfulRaceHorse going. Seriously though, just because one effect hasn't worked on the one ocassion, it doesn't mean people can turn their backs and say "Oh well that wasn't going to last long anyway".
  8. It was working when I went less than a week ago. So there's no need to moan about the fact it "barely lasted long".
  9. Put me as a maybe for this. And I think I'll just be coming for the day. It all just depends on when I'm working.
  10. It's the layout of the launch coaster that sort of gives me hope really. The area I've set is MASSIVE when I suppose I just need to make it small and compact.
  11. Any updates on transport from the airport or we still going by train?
  12. Well I went on it for the first time today and actually thought it was really good! It definitely ticked a lot of boxes for a kids' ride themed around a popular kids' story. And the detail - don't get me started! Even if the minority is 2D cutouts and projections it still had animatronics and just other little touches that really add to the detail. I really was surprised by the station as well! But what surprised me most was just how well the full story was told within the short duration of the ride. I originally thought they couldn't do it (see my theory involving CatCF) but they clearly have! For the last decade, Bubbleworks had been trapped within the hollow shell of the Imperial Leather b*llocks we all knew and loved hated but it's definitely been put to rest once and for all seeing as The Gruffalo doesn't reference its predecessor whatsoever. Only negative I have however is a certain overused sound effect; I genuinely feel bad for the Picsolve team who have to work in the greenscreen room listening to "O-HOHOHOHO" every 20 seconds.
  13. I do remember this being mentioned before but what caught me off guard today was that the treasure room and Jukebox Jewel (I still call it that even today) both had the trains stop for about a third of the time it used to. This of course led to a lot of the audio being out of sync...and I'll be damned if it's affecting the skeletons as well, seeing neither the lights or the animatronics themselves worked. All in all the ride's a mess nowadays. I suppose people these days wouldn't notice or care about the slightest things in theme park rides that don't function as intended but it's as if Chessington know that and go with it.
  14. Great stuff! Inspiration from SAW?
  15. If you want a smoother ride, try sitting in the middle seats. It's the same on The Smiler, you often get a much smoother experience. That all being said, as displeasing as it is to have your spine repeatedly jammed into the base of your skull...I still think Colossus is more painful.
  16. I may be missing quite a bit here but is it known if Symbolica tells a story like Baron does? Like with Baron I'm guessing this'll be revealed prior to opening.
  17. It looks like utter crap. /closethread
  18. Pls send help! I can't breathe. This is just perfect! I know this is really far-fetched as it would cost millions to tear down the building but if you got rid of X to form one big site then you've got room for a coaster (preferably family) or even a dark ride. Because let's face it - X kinda needs to go sometime soon...
  19. I'm not Professor Burp but don't forget the secret formula Merlin + New Ride = DELAYS (I'm joking of course. I'm not trying to foreshadow anything)
  20. Simple really... (and attention to detail)
  21. Oh bugger I've also been playing this game a while and I've been hiding my progress until now! Gentlemen? Entrance plaza!! Very Towers inspired I know but I'm so happy with how the view of the castle turned out as I was being extremely precise on the positioning of it. Street itself took a while too. Old Frontier is my Alpine-style Western area. Contains 3 rides; Bandit 1885 (mine train), Timber Falls (log flume (duh!!)) and Rodeo (Tri-Storm). Another shot of Bandit 1885 in motion, featuring the station building. The ride is based on an exhibition into an abandoned gold mine, where unknowingly, wanted bandit El Mucho and his hoods are in hiding. The ride uses over 30 triggered effects, an indoor animated show sequence and a brief epilogue scene (the small hut to the far left of the image being a jail) to tell a story in as much detail as possible. Bandit 1885's epic finale. The explosions at the drop base were literally inspired off Flabaliki's own mine train in his Hard Mode series featuring the same effect. The bridge of course was an inspiration off Seven Dwarf's Mine Train and contemplates to the Alpine theme perfectly. A Western themed food outlet inspired off BdoubleO100's food plaza. Timber Falls partly traverses the mountain which houses Bandit 1885's show sequence. Note the castle looming overhead to the left. Moving onto my fantasy area, Magic Valley (might be renamed sometime). This area also contains 3 rides; Whirlwind (spinning coaster), Excalibur (river rapids (below)) and Hex (Magic Twirl). Excalibur is an exciting river adventure which pits you against white water, waterfalls...oh...and DRAGONS!! Extra detail/effects pending for now. Entrance for Excalibur. Currently has no functioning Priority Pass system: Whirlwind is a spinning coaster themed around a wizard's accidental failed spell, causing a whirlwind to be cast and the entire Magic Valley to be overgrown and shrouded in enchantment. The ride uses surprising special effects and music (D'wervelwind's onboard audio! ) to create a magical experience. The logo for the ride I'm particularly proud of as I used different pieces to make it (the gingerbread icing around the border for instance). As part of Whirlwind's effects lineup, I built a wizard's tower as part of the experience, as well as a spectacle for passers-by. It's laid out to appear as if the wizard is at work at the top conjuring up a spell. You will first hear a spell being cast, only for smoke to blast through the cage windows. Another one is cast moments later...and an explosion erupts from the room. Our wizard clearly isn't having the best of times. The entire sequence is triggered by a car on Whirlwind dispatching from the station. A very D'wervelwind inspired station interior for Whirlwind (which is still in need of extra details hence the lacking). ...and finally a WIP project for an Aztec themed area. This is Humunga, a B&M Inverter currently under construction. If anyone can teach me how to get a ruined/crumbled effect for buildings like this that'll be appreciated. All feedback is welcome!
