  1. Saws queue time is no longer updated by staff and is calculated automatically by the number of people entering the queue line, it now displays its queue time by the minute! Wonder how accurate this is and if it'll be rolled out across the rest of the park!
  2. Anyone know why Detonator can never be heard anymore? Used to be able to hear it from Inferno!
  3. Galactica has had another few days down now I believe? Towers seriously are not having a good season reliability/operational wise
  4. I find with Saw it changes every time I ride it, it depends on what car you're on. Some rides on it are a lot smoother than others I think
  5. The day everyone has been waiting for.... LUMBER JUMP IS OPEN
  6. Much prefer the previous Fright Nights one myself
  7. Like Thorpe said on Twitter it is just advisory at the moment, saw plenty of groups who were all under 18 today on the ride
  8. I can understand why they are doing it, but think 18 is a bit too high, maybe 16 would be better. I mean 17-year-olds can drive a car on their own but can't go on a rapids which kids have been going on for years on their own!?
  9. Seems odd that Rumba Rapids restriction is just advisory as on Congo people seem to be getting turned away
  10. Love the sound of that! Love how its got bits of the original ambience
  11. Do you know what parts of the lost city have been changed?
  12. Haven't seen the water tower go off once this season as well, is that broken again this year or have I just not seen it?
  13. Lots of changes to the rapids today including lights in the tunnel, staff dotted around the ride, no waterfalls, no water guns, new signs and buoyancy aids. Took the fun away but can see why they've done it.
  14. Rumba rapids has reopened today after the Drayton Manor incident, unsure if there are any changes. Anyone know why there has been a member of staff standing on the bridge watching down on the lift hill/camera area all the time this season? I mean I assume its to make sure people aren't standing up or whatever but thought that's what cameras were for?
  15. Was my first time on the new ghost train yesterday, and was pleasantly surprised! The queue and pre-show is a lot better now and the VR is soo much better with the new headphones. The new VR section was my favourite part whereas that used to the worst by far, and loved the ending! Still, can't see how this attraction will run in the long run with it having like 15 staff + actors whereas other main rides like Colossus can run with 4 or 5.
  16. With heavy rumours of X and Slammer leaving the park 2015, I wouldn't be surprised if both X and Slammer got removed shortly and that area getting used for a large investment over the next few years. What I'd like to see as well, but removing X won't be easy so we will see
  17. Seems like Thorpe have been working on the drop tower ride which I heard would be opening next season. Now Slammers going to be closed I'm guessing they are using the money to open up the drop ride instead. Also confirmed on Facebook it'll be called Lumber Jump, yayyy

    Slammer

RIP Slammer. Didn't expect it to go after one of its best seasons last year A shame but can see why the park have done it, doesn't make sense to keep chucking money at a ride which constantly breaks and isn't that popular from a business point of view
  19. You can see what time its opened for the past week here https://queue-times.com/parks/2/rides/90

    Slammer

... but then instead of spending money on it decide to keep it sitting there for a year, another loggers leap situation
  21. ^ Whenever I've been before and a few rides have been down they have done the wristband for £10 so its odd they're not doing that anymore??

It's not to do with the fact that it reaches 90 degrees, but H&S don't like the procedure for if it was to get stuck at 90 degrees, hence why it will now only reach 70. No idea, but if the towers one still reaches 90 I'm guessing it's due to Thorpe having a different model and therefore the procedure for it getting stuck at 90 degrees would be different. Should've been more clear in my first post, but it's not to do with the fact its '70% safe' but the procedure for if it was to get stuck at 90 degrees. If the ride could no longer reach 90 degrees due to its performance I'm pretty sure they would just get rid of the thing.
  23. I couldn't help but notice this as well! There's so many spots which have been left! From what I have heard, Rumba is a more long term project so will have more done in the following years. Lets just hope this does happen and it isn't left in the current state its in now...

Its been tweaked on purpose to reach a maximum of 70 degrees now due to H&S, its nothing to do with the strain of the ride or it not being able to reach that height. It is odd that they've decided to make it come straight down once it reaches the 70 degrees position though.
  25. 40 minutes in a disabled queue is disgusting - even with a 130 minute queue on 1 train. Whole point of the disabled system is that you don't have to stand in queues for long periods of time.
