The other parks just guess the queue time and close the queue so the ride closes at approximately the park closing time... Bad that you may get turned away after being in the queue!!

Did anyone see this on the minisite for the ride under rumours section... Let’s be daring for a moment: Can we still call it a hypercoaster if the train drives right into a vertical-motion gondola (similar to the Tower of Terror), locks into the gondola and starts a ride sequence with it that goes all the way up to the required 61+x metres? It shouldn’t be a problem to bring the gondola to a stop about 20m-30m in the air once the ride sequence has ended. From there the roller coaster will take over. In other words, it would be two attractions combined in one and on top it would include a “world’s first”. As already mentioned: the train would reach hypercoaster height, the roller coaster itself would not.I know it's rumours but why would they put it on the minisite!?

looks a tiny bit more permanent

not sure how long it's been on there, but drayton manor have now added air race to their rides list... Fasten your seatbelts and prepare for take-off as a brand new thrill ride begins its descent into Drayton Manor Theme Park for 2014. Air Race will take riders on a stomach churning aerial adventure, turning their world upside down at a height of up to eight metres. Accommodating up to 24 riders at one time in six, four seater aeroplanes, 'pilots' will experience accelerations of almost 4G as they board the acrobatic aeroplane flight. Riders will take their seat preparing for take-off, gliding from side to side at increasing heights whilst circling around the control tower. Before long, a series of gravity defying barrel rolls in both directions will have you soaring and diving throughout the air. With banks, loops, dives and weightlessness to test even the most experienced thrill seekers, it promises to be the flight of your life. confirms 24 riders, which is the 6 arm version... still such a low throughput for a busy (albeit little) park! I think it's a bit misleading adding it on to the ride section for someone who doesn't know anything about it, and from it saying new for 2014, thinking it's open!

Would be far too many coasters if that were to happen lol!

I think the theme Lost City is fine... But they seriously need the lake/pond under the cobra roll cleaned out and actually filled with water as it actually looks vile, and could look so good - as for the rest of it, I'm liking the overgrown look, and the paint isn't too bad I guess. But new trains (with more leg room which is possible achieved by the new lap bar trains) and the pond is a must!

I was sat on the left hand side 2nd row and got pretty damn wet... Think the front is even better!

Why Air!? It may be unique, but it is so boring... Besides that the first 7 or 8 would seem pretty fair to me!

Also I noticed they put on their Facebook the other day that G-Force has reopened.

Wild west area retheme?
-
just found out the offer apparently ends 27th April... so guessing it will be going up to £58.
-
yeah I did see it was £68 online, but I guess they've realised and removed it off the website now... but a bit confusing as it doesn't say anything about renewals - but at least you can wait for it to expire, and not waste any time having it renew straight away when you may not visit until say May
-
The Thorpe Annual Pass has been on offer since last summer presumably, so that price of £48 for an annual pass (annoyingly was £58 for annual when I bought mine last year, and £48 for season) going up to £58 after may is the continuing offer, until whenever - I have noticed thorpe have removed the renewal price off their website. So I'm literally guessing you go buy another one when you visit next, just preferably before end of may so you get it for £48?

So after Funderworld setting up at Bristol every Easter half term for 2 weeks for the past years, to hear nothing this year, they've finally released that they will be at Birstol in the May Half term 23rd May - 1st June... can't wait

I used fast track last year on after dark... It was a tenner for these little laminated cards, one each for Speed, Megafobia, Bounce & Drenched. Got almost the last ride on Megafobia and they never bothered taking my card, so I still have it somewhere - could have replicated them aha!

I never said I wanted one... it's just how merlin parks in the UK seem to work with their investments - sometimes it brings great rides, and others just prototypes with a basic layout which get thrashed a few years later! I personally want an RMC which would give them somewhere to stand in terms of advertising, I would have said europes first looping wooden coaster, but that's been ruined now aha! I still love the idea of a ride like Piraten, which looks amazing for airtime, and if I'm right has a 1.2m restriction which would help with their new up for it families approach, it's just finding a way they could market it. As far as I'm aware we haven't seen a proper big rollercoaster investment for say a decade, from any non merlin parks in the UK, so can't compare how they would advertise a ride without any gimmicks and if it works :/
-
It's not very gimmicky unfortunately - the only way around that would be to think of some worlds first themeing!?

Taken from their latest facebook post, and a lengthy one at that... 'the park is also introducing ‘Queue Bounce’ – an all-new ‘arrive and ride’ system designed to eliminate queuing.' ^^probably the most interesting piece of information from it, as we already know something big is coming for summer, just don't know what, and they're not telling yet!
-
besides the use of the word hotel (which apparently means so much), thorpe don't really set out to advertise it as this amazing fancy place to stay, like alton towers do with their actual hotels... so it does what it's set out to do really, a place to stay as close to the park as possible.
-
what else can they call/class it as though...

So piscolve have been sending out emails for people to do surveys, and spotted this on the survey 'Picsolve is developing an App to make claiming, viewing, and sharing, your attraction photos easier and more fun. We would like your help in deciding what’s important.' could this possibly develop into what has previously been said about buying pictures directly through your phone, or just buying digital download codes at the booth or from a machine?

The thing is, the inside of the volcano looks terrible without any mist, so the either need to add a facade to the warehouse inside or try and be a bit more consistent with the mist!
-
How tall is piraten or the new one at nigoland... Would be such a great addition for Thorpe - or and RMC eh

anyone noticed the swinging axes (or whatever you want to call them) aren't swinging properly like they used to... I noticed it at the end of the season last year, and still hasn't been fixed - they don't swing in time now, and the swinging motion is really jumpy/juddery (a bit like vortex eh aha)! just ruins the effect in my opinion!

Some companies/businesses find that selling less of an item/service but at a higher price is better and more profitable for them than selling loads at a cheaper price...
