  1. It gained 90 minute queues when I looked though, was definitely stayed away from that one today
  2. Right then trip report time, I just got back from my visit today and its fair to say queues were brilliant all day. Towards the end of the day all the rides were near enough walk on because everyone gave up and went home most likely because of the heat. But anyway first ride of the day was X and it was amazing so much better than the original but needs more smoke or less light as its too easy to see where you go and without the blocks its fantastic. Next ride was Tidal Wave was so refreshing, and about a 10 minute queue when I went on. Straight to Colossus after that the ride crew were a bit slow today with a lot of families with smaller children who couldn't go on and people who were too big. Anyway skipping straight to the ride count otherwise id be here forever. Colossus - 1 Nemesis Inferno - 3, one of which front row Detonator - 3 Rumba - 1 Tidal Wave - 1 Loggers - 1 Stealth - 1 Quantum - 2 Samurai - 1, never again X - 2 Vortex remained closed all day as did Slammer and Storm Surge reopened part way through the day but got 90 minute queues so didn't bother. Samurai's zeroing was slow today, saw closed due to someone bringing up their lunch, Stealth broke but no idea what for, tidal got stuck first thing this morning as well.
  3. I guess they're really going for the refurb and are doing everything over again its strange though its annoying because it looks so bare and boring yet it looks so much cleaner and open than it used to
  4. I agree with Sheepie here and it is a lot cheaper than Paradise who charge £200 for some of their feed the animal sessions the big cats cost the most and just for meerkats its £99 its ridiculous but Chessie are the cheaper option here. and the paradise prices are only for an hour or two
  5. I think its closed for the next 2 weeks because of a technical problem the post that says about it is on the last 1 or 2 pages
  6. To my knowledge nothing is broken down for extensive periods of time at the moment but if anything is it should be shown on their website on a scrolling banner that at the moment says about the busy days and school trips but keep an eye on the banner before you go Hope you have a great first visit According to the slammer topic it is out of operation for the next two weeks sorry I forgot about that, but apart from that everything else is running smoothly (to my knowledge correct me if I'm wrong)
  7. I hope they don't oversell like with the fastracks and mess the whole thing up for everyone, wonder if fastrack will be sold during this event or will they limit the numbers so much that fastrack will not be needed at all?
  8. It's really expensive for the amount of time you get in the park but there is a fair few rides there though its a place I want to go once and probably not again
  9. Wow I did terrible 28.0 out of 58.0 is possibly the worst I've ever done, oh well it was great fun anyway and maybe I shall do better in round 2
  10. If anything this delay means they have more time to plan the coaster and permanent hotel so I theory it should be even better than original plans so they should have even more time to plan for that woodie we all desperately want but probably wont ever get
  11. NOOO I was really hoping to get my first ride on it this Sunday, oh well its done well so far though get well soon slammer
  12. Great ideas and suggestions but there would be one worry and problem with a looping woodie....that it might turn out like the Son of Beast and cause injury and if Merlin are concerned about how safety of woodie's then a looping one could just be painful and confirm their viewpoint.
  13. Wow Stretchy well done they look great
  14. Damn why couldn't they move the Smiler instead one problem with this that I would see if the spinball move did go ahead to Thorpe is that the queue tines would be horrific, Sonic Spinball already gets terribly long queues at towers so what would it be like at Thorpe...probably even worse. Another thing is that why would they move it to Thorpe when Dragons Fury is just down the road?
  15. I think you are kinda right with that ^
  16. Thanks for that Ryan, what happened to Tommy saying no pictures (I can see why he said that now), I hate wasps so much, but I think the spiders on peoples faces made me cringe more.
  17. Spheksophobia, apparently is my phobia of Wasps technical name.
  18. I have a really bad phobia of Bees and Wasps, I don't know what the technical name for it is but it started when a wasp stung me in Cornwall when I was 4 and my hand started swelling and now I'm terrified of them. Also I'm scared of flat rides that go upside down, I just hate the thought of a power cut happening on one when its upside down like Zodiac, I'm sure there are fail safes but I'm still not convinced
  19. You raise a good point here, I agree with Josh.C and that it has to be over 150 degrees for an inversion. But one other question does a cobra roll count as 2 inversions or 1, because if it only counts as one then Colossus couldn't be a 10 inverting coaster, it would be 9.
  20. Aero Mint Saw or Final Destination (films)
  21. Just to further prove it can happen an example was last season the chain on the Vampire at Chessington snapped.
  22. Sorry I may have blown that a bit out of proportion, I was told that it crashed and one of the wheels came off, I didn't mean to say it was a full on crash/derailing. didn't mean to make it sound like that Pluk. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Roller_(Stratosphere)#Closure_and_removal go down to the ride experience bit and it says about the wheels coming loose and derailing.
  23. The roller coaster at the top was removed for a number of reasons, one was that it was the least popular ride on the tower, another was that it derailed over the edge once but there were safety screens underneath the track to catch them. Also it was getting old and very rough causing some injuries I think as a result of the bumpiness and cramped cars it was an unpleasant experience for most. I have never been up the Stratosphere but I do hope to in the future. This information has been sourced from my Dad when he went up the tower in-case you were wondering how I knew this stuff.
  24. With everyone saying that the Nick Land looks tidy and modern which it does but there is still the massive flipping Space Invader building in the middle of it! Also yeah they do try to keep their old rides looking awesome but have you not seen the Grand National from the outside of the park. My parents said that they didn't want me going in there because they thought it would be a waste of money if they all looked like that with the white paint all mouldy and shredded. So it doesn't give a very good impression from the outside putting people off from going inside and you have only just parked your car! I think some of the rides there desperately need a repaint.
  25. Oh how I wish PB was still run like that with that sort of thinking when they actually built new thrill rides and didn't concentrate mainly on Ice Shows
