  1. stats in RCT3 are a bit meh. Most people ignored them and just played sanbox for it's gloriousness.

On the subject of RCT3, I think it's a little bit of a shame that the community has completely died in the last 3 months. Several of the forums have shut down and those that haven't have transferred to Planet Coaster. Of course this was gonna happen but it's happened so quickly and it makes people that want to continue to play RCT3 (such as myself) reluctant to do so because there is not a community to bounce off of anymore. With that said I'm expecting to release 2 more rides (probably) and then I'll be done with the game, apart from maybe revisiting it if I get bored of Planet Coaster.

  2. I agree with every comment made, and also relate to it in some form or another. One thing I also had to follow up with, much like Charlie is the fact my brother was the highest scoring student in my school for GCSEs. This was a challenge for me however I made my teachers (who'd listen) well aware of the fact I am not academic and have not the capabilities of my brother, however I still passed all my exams, which in turn is putting pressure on my even less academic little brother, who (in the nicest of ways) is pretty thick when it comes to education stuff. He crumbles like me and it's pretty bad to watch, even from my point of view.

As well as this, I have experienced what JoshC had. In my year 10 maths class (set 2 of 10) we were told to take our maths exams a year early, so we could potentially do an extra GCSE come year 11, however not being the very top left us with some mediocre teachers, a mediocre class and a rushed syllabus. If you didn't get an A then you'd have to resist The exam next year, as I did, and I got worse the second year because it just felt like a waste. Having said that, the best teachers went to those in the very top set, and the D grade set, ensuring as many people got garunteed A's/passes as possible, and practically forgetting the trailers. Education these days highlights corruption at its finest and unfairness to almost every group of student, and as seen here, it can leave everyone very upset.

  3. The whole schooling system in the UK is a diabolical mess. Give teachers their due, they have a lot of rubbish thrown at them (pun intended not pun) but the system needs complete reworking.

Yesterday I literally started sobbing in the middle of school because I just cannot deal with it right now. The amount of pressure one of my teachers is putting on me is agonizing, and I can not cope. School in this current situation in the UK is to industrial, and has hardly changed from the system installed during the victorian era. The funny thing is, most teachers will agree too, that the education system needs changing because it simply does not work with our constantly progressing society.

The best education in the world belongs to the Scandinavians. You don't start school until 6, and it's only compulsory until he age of 16. Even then, classes are narrowed down (in some situations, the main example being used is Northern Sweden) to just 2 and a half days a week, with no exams, and unique grades delivered to each student in each subject. Classes are kept the same, however students can switch as they please, and classrooms are specialized and multi function allowing students to learn how to use work spaces, and also get comfortable with one particular, familiar classroom.

The result? One of the highest populations going into uni, some of the highest grades in education, and in turn creating one of the least corrupt societies on the entire planet.

Their society works like clockwork, and it's brilliant from the very bottom.

I wish one of the *****s in government would look at what works outside of this crumby island and see that the school system needs changing, because if people who have even one hurdle thrown at them tumble in this country, due to the militarized schooling system, something is very wrong and needs to be changed.

  4. There's a faint sort of breathing/panting noise in the tunnel, like the girl trying to escape the crypt in the story.

I can see why enthusiasts have a slight bitter taste when it comes to th13teen. It was promised as something different primarily, and like said above it has countless missed opportunities.

But so does every single ride ever. It's nothing special for th13teen. Think about it for 1 second, I could roll off an example for every single ride in existence with missed opportunities in both theming and the ride design. What th13teen has, it executes (in my opinion, don't trigger urself) brilliantly.

It's my favourite ride in the whole of the UK for the reasons listed above, as well as numerous others, which I'm not going to waste time explaining becuase I'll probably get gunned down.

    Th13teen = Best ride  :wub:

  5. When the Swarm first opened, my second trip to it involved taking my little brother (a coaster virgin then) to the park with a group of family friends. He was petrified. Literally ready to cry, but peer pressure forced him onto doing the swarm the minute we got into the park. I remember him quivering as the ride dispatched, but re-entering with the wildest grin on his face.

My first inversionynesesnensyesseyeyssness coaster was Nemesis Inferno, and I still remember that well. Like Lewum said, I peed myself a little (legit) but the experience was so fun I did it 4 more times that day. Less then 5 years later I'm a fat enthusiast and continue to regularly ride huge rides and sought out bigger and better places to go.

Once you get that kick done with, you're a free wolf.

  6. Don't hate me for cross forum ads, but a Shyguysworld all the old RCT3ers have suddenly popped up and the quality of the work is amazing. Even nerd cubed was making the game look beautiful, even whilst just larking about in it.

Talking to Silv, and codemaster, and other RCT3 forum goers, we've come to the conclusion that this game is just what the community needed. It's so close to RCT3, it's just bought the game to the next level, and a level above that. The graphics are stunning, the games engine is very good, and so far, considering it's still only an alpha (!) it smashes pretty much every theme park sim out of the water. The screens are stunning. The tools are incredibly user friendly. It's the game we've been waiting for.

I really wanted to cry when I first opened this thing up. It's just so fun, and so easy to use. Frontier have made what we've wanted for so long, and it's just perfect.
