  1. It's got the equivalent of a canal system from what I can see. The rides flat is held in a controlled trough, and after the second descent the troughs gates open to allow the water to flow in. How the water is then lowered again, I have no idea, but I can imagine there is some kind of pump system to remove it.

In terms of throughput your looking at 600+

  2. I know this is a guy speaking about theme parks who compared to us probably has little idea what is going on, but he raises interesting points that I feel certain members on this forum need to become aware of that it happens outside of merlin parks, and is just industry standard.

If you watch this video from 3:24 onwards he highlights points that people are almost certainly aware of but need confirmation of.

  3. Please remember that Wikipedia can be edited by anyone, and if you just do a little research off of that site you'll find that this is, in fact, incorrect.

Whilst both models have similar components, Rocky Express' model is actually called 'old train'.  As you yourself said, the way the carriages work is slightly different, but this is the difference that makes them different ride types :)

PS If you still don't believe me, look at mack rides website, and find the ride model 'old train'. Rocky is pictured. Before you go to the slaughter house with someone, make sure your facts are right!

To get this back on topic, does anyone know if guests (other then in a breakdown) can ever have access to the indoor sections of Saw? A couple of us were curious if it's possible to have access to it as a kind of VIP thing, a bit like how you can go in the ride area for inferno

  4. I do agree we need a new logo to go with the new site, maybe now might be a more appropriate time to host the logo competition that never really lifted off a couple months ago. From next month I'd be able to produce something if people were interested in breathing some life into the current logo.

  5. So, I found out I'll be visiting in August with the family.

A couple questions for you vets:

    • We're going right at the start of September, like literally the Sunday before term time here (The first weekend of term in France). WILL IT BE VERY BUSY?
    • Is there any rides we should get done first/last to avoid queues, because I've heard operations are pretty crap..
    • Is fastpass worth the buy?
    • Wheres good places to eat?
    • My older brother and mum aren't much of ride people.. Are there many attractions for them?
    • I need to find a really cheap hotel nearby to stay in the night before. Have any of you guys got any experience?
  6. The new site looks awesome, but I too have a couple points.

    1. Are you gonna slap a theme on here at some point?

    2. The user history doesn't seem to be working. I went to look at someones post history and it loaded nothing... Might this be because they haven't yet posted on the new site? If so would it be possible to load data from the old site?

  7. This is old news. As Advertisement after James May's series involving lego to do with toys (the name escapes me) they used legoland as a form of advertisement for the next series of Top Gear following that series of programmes. It is however, still a very cool easter egg (my personal favourite either being the one where stig is in the driving school or where he is standing under the Pharoah)
