  1. The chainsaw in the Big Top was absolutely nothing. On my run the guy just stood there and watched us leave. Something like Studio 13 was how a chainsaw ending should be. I've never run so fast in my life! With the Chop Shop I've heard you get about 5 actors at once with chainsaws throwing them around and chasing you maniacally out of the maze. Guess we'll have to wait and see..
  2. Really really excited for this years Shocktoberfest. I've never been before and it's looking highly likely I'll be going this year. The two new mazes (Pandaemonium 3D and Covern of 13) both look very interesting, and let's not forget 6 other attractions. The only one I'm scared for is The Chop Shop. It looks absolutely crazy! After Sub Species however, I think I'm ready for anything ?

Have a listen to both pieces and tell me what is remotely similar about the two tracks. From the sounds of things, there's nothing.

Let's have a look at The Smiler's soundtrack, and then The Ghost Trains soundtrack. Clearly both of them have so much in common... EDIT: Jonny beat me to it
  5. Any photography or recording is strictly prohibited in all mazes. Last year people were allowed to film at the press/passholder night but other than that they have zero tolerance for photos/videos inside the mazes.
  6. Staff said that when I was there, it opened 10 minutes later. EDIT: It's now open on a 2 hour queue
  7. Ignore the double post, but it appears that we'll be able to choose which characters will be roaming the park at Fright Nights this year. Credit to TPM's FB

So Skin Snatchers has been renamed to Altonville Mine Tours. Really don't like this new name at all; Skin Snatchers sounded much better. Just a name however, the maze sounds very promising! Photo from Towers Street FB
  9. Another tent looks likely imo. They have the space for it. If not, then they could just add some shipping containers and (try to) conceal them. After last years shambles, I do hope that they can completely turn this maze around.
  10. Glad to know it's finally back open to the public! I do wonder how much of it they've actually fixed and improved though..

Yes and yes. Sub Species involves a lot of touching and is very intense and therefore has a 15+ limit. Skin Snatchers will be gory and therefore has a 15+ limit.

'Only suitable' and 'you must' are essentially the same thing. Plus Sub Species states in the H&S warnings before you enter that you must be 15 or older.

Sub Species is also advertised as a 15+ rating. The only one that isn't is TOTT with an advisory 12+ rating. As for it being graphic and gory, I see this being highly likely. Ripping someone's skin off won't be a pretty picture..

I really do hope that this isn't a hooded maze; it doesn't fit with the story at all. You go into the old Altonville mine for a tour.. And you have to wear a hood? I wouldn't be surprised if there is a partially hooded section. Maybe the skin snatchers interrupt your tour, put a bag over your head and take you to their home? I don't mind what happens really, I just hope that this maze is good enough to replace Molly Crowe, as that maze was seriously good!
  15. Behind the scenes maze tours are also now available to pre-book for £20 each. This year you are given the choice of either Saw and Cabin or Platform and Big Top.
  16. Annual Pass Event for Fright Nights will be on Monday 10th, and will run from 5pm-10pm

    Yay
  18. People are willing to pay £10, however the truth is it's just not worth it!
  19. Hip hip horray... I'm assuming it's going to once again be the extortionate £10 entry? Wonderful news.
  20. Triple post! Must be an all time low for me. Here's a little Fright Nights construction video! More coming soon...

I'm usually fairly optimistic about bad situations, but I doubt Loggers will be returning. After walking down Monks Walk on Thursday, the ride is in an absolutely appalling state. No signs of any redevelopment taking place. I would love to be proven wrong, but I'm not hopeful that my favourite nose-breaking log flume will come back..
  22. At least the tents are up fairly early instead of being rushed up last minute like 2015..
  23. The beach is being closed on the 4th September, presumably for construction of The Big Top. Unless the beach usually closes around this time of year?
  24. If they're fixing all of that, another week I'd say. Perfectly timed for when the schools go back so they can earn maximum profit..
  25. That is a lot of space for just one shipping container! There must be more to this than just hay for the Big Top..
