1729 got a reaction from JoshC. in The Next Major Investment?
Honeslty when thinking about the next major investment, like towers the park doesn't need "just another coaster"
The coaster line up is probably pretty stable and more than enough veriaty and capacity.

What the park is lacking is secondary experiences that the crowd who ride the coasters want to do.

Looking at the parks history, the last brand new thrill flat investment was Slammer and Rush in 2005.

You had Storm Surge in 2010 which was a relocated ride, the dodgems in 2014 which straddles the line of a thrill flat.
and of course Ghost Train in 2016 but due to the complexity in maintenance and staffing I would class this more like a coaster in its operation than a thrill flat. But even if you did thats almost 10 years since the last proper flat ride (mainly due to habit of making walk through 'Merlin midway' mazes as attractions)

What the park needs is a thrill flat package similar to how Zodiac, Vortex and Detonator where done, and more recently the Rumour that Toxicator at Towers was bought in a multi ride package.

With the right ride choices this would work as a solid coaster level investment with the benefit of also being able to spread out queues around the park.

its a interesting quirk of Stealth and a few other coasters like it.

The magnetic brake fins have a couple of brake pads on them so in the event of a rollback the train will stop on the launch track so the train can advance the moment the launch fins are up rather than once the train has cleared the top hat which allows for the ride to operate as quickly as possible.

Honestly it sounds something more like the chain lift snapped or something. Probably not that, but something critical and consumable would of failed inspection and needed a order from B&M which probably wasn't on the shelf.
Thus a lead time to make, ship from Switzerland, install, test and inspect.

Still if the ride is cycling then fingers crossed they have sorted it

1729 got a reaction from coasterverse in Ghost Train - NEW for 2023
It be interesting what they do with it, fact is if you wanted to do the minimum, you could change the pre and post show film, film a person in front of a green screen for the carriage screen with Derren and replace his voice, either like for like or for a new story
Oh and remove any Derren Easter eggs, like the Trick or Treat poster in the mid scene and apparently the VR had some Easter eggs but thay may of been part of VR 2 which was changed (bonus props to the alternative version of VR 2 which was never used where the demon had a different design and flew, like how the first section had 2 versions)

But with MMM it sounds like they be doing more than that especially if they are removing the troublesome hot VR (the vr wasn't the only reason the building is very toasty but it doesn't help)

I would expect screens in the windows of the train mainly as the alternative is trying to do all media via the small advertising screens
and use the leg ticklers that where thought about, installed and then cut I want to say cause they didn't work properly?

A actor lead experience could work, especially since it already was kinda one, just the actor going from load to load not just the middle scene

I would love to see them re do the lights on stick train crash effect but its a shame that it the effect was temperamental and didn't work consistently since it was probably a highlight of the ride

I would also hope they keep the atmosphere, by that, the ride has a gloomy tense atmosphere with its theming music and a good (usualy actor lead) spiel between the pre show and load works very well (this was one of the actor positions that was a proper actor if I remember correct, not ride staff doing a bit)

There is potential here to make a proper Tussauds walk through experiance
    Dungeons, Hex, etc

I hope they get it right and reliable
  7. Thanks

You've had some fun silly posts, but there comes a point when you cross a line and it just reads like a spam bot. This is the point.

Let's stop the overt obtuseness now please.

Using this as its the first one I found and others are on facebook groups that may link

Due to Exodus construction requiring the train shed to be demolished, the Canada Creek Stock and the last remaining Treasure island loco on site (the other loco  and coaches left to other lines years ago)

The Canada creek locos I have heard are heading up to a line in Scotland, probably needing a  bit of work by Severn Lamb (the manufacturer who also made the ride vehicles for DBGT), though even the one that had a fire put in its cab and put on its side is still in good nick, the design of those locos used a diesel engine and hydraulic pump in the tender with only a hydraulic motor in the loco that they themed for fright nights

The Treasure Island loco has been sold as well but is first retuning to its manufacture Alan Keef for a full overhaul before moving on

so even though some posts said wrongly, they are not being scrapped

Tidal Wave and storm surge have water treatment plants, Rumba and Loggers dont

Its a situation with a grandfathers rights clause

and Loggers physically couldn't had water treatment fitted due to the nature of water splash entering the lake

loggers was worn out and needed alot of work which is why the death knell took so long to be rung

I mean there was one culprit for pulling things off topic

Regardless, towers is in a iffy state in regards to flat rides, fact is flat rides though they cant be a main advertising hook (at least on there own, back in the day thorpe advertised multiple new flats as a thing) but they are needed to add variety and capacity to the park guests day

The thing about platform 15 is the fact that due to its location, the maze can be built, maintained and stored in the open with minimal disruption to the day to day workings of the park, only the station and the tunnel has to effect the normal park
For example when they built the house nobody realized it had been built till it was experianced.

It could do with some work but as a night maze it still has its good points, but it could do with work, its a good base line
also effects wise theres relatively little
the fire on the train that will never run again
the train jumpscare and then its just general audio and maze systems

    its a deceptively simple maze

Stealths third train is for maintenance, due to the intense complexity of the ride, its impractical to overhaul/check/maintain the track, launch system, electronics and 2 trains.  so to ease the burden on the staff the third train is overhauled during the open season in slow time, this means they only need to do one train in closed season as well as the rest of the ride.

A actor driven train ride with special effects and high operating costs on a unusual rail based ride system made by Severn lamb or Alan keef will work great
