    The Smiler

You're now embarking on an optical procedurreeee....... The music is by far the best thing ever to happen to the project, followed by Smiler Shop TV.. then followed by the colourscheme and the ride itself.
  3. Can't get angry at Chessie anymore, it's purely expected. All my anger for the place was expelled about this time last year. Only thing they've seemingly managed to do over winter is reroof something and burn something else down. Literally sounds just like normal for that place. Also, hello TraX. I love winter purely to see your informative posts again!
  4. Fantastic opening hours, let's hope they stay that way. Good to see them building them back up again. Opening hours are key to any park, so the longer the better!
  5. They won't strip out a large and integral restaurant to replace a ride - a restuarant of that size and throughput would need replacing like for like. It'll probably go in a vacant building or in replacement of the games units.
  6. 1) Visit more theme parks 2) Somehow automatically gain a good career without having an interview. That'd be really, really good. And in the right industry, I'd be confident from the offset. 3) Bigger willy. Why not? I mean, it's okay now but it's like girls and boobs or bums or anything to do with themselves.

    I Remember When...

I remember visiting thorpe on it's closing day of 2005 and Ranger County was essentially flooded. I got soaked.
  8. Better than the Great Yarmouth Pleasure Oak. Surprised that didn't appear in Operation Yewtree. Fat people standing up, water losing underneath log, logs pile up. Oh, it's like Pirate Falls at LLW <3
  9. My favourite thing about this is we can finally do a proper true comparison of the two rides we've always really wanted to compare. Flying Fish Vs Scorpion Express. Which one looks worse now than in it's original state? I personally hope Scorpion has a half built pond also!
  10. Argh first time to visit since a meet the year Woolworths closed. You always know this with me, I'm a maybe (though I'll genuinely book this off and not leave it to fate to decide). I need to do this park again as it's good.
  11. Oh, went to play this and it's already done. That was quick. Good old Slammer!

    2013 attendance

2013 hasn't been released yet. Usually like Feb time? Can't remember 2012, it'd be around the 1.7-1.9m mark.
  13. I originally thought that, and then realised they're just calling the train the "scorpion express". Like they name some express intercity trains now.. or the pineapple express maybe.
  14. Can imagine that bully puppet announcement being in incredibly poor taste. Winding up guests or upsetting them during a breakdown is the furthest from what you actually want to achieve. Just imagine they tried stuff which just didn't work. Plus, some stuff has probably broken so literally doesn't work instead
  15. Balls to that, does she not have discretion?
  16. It RUINS it. That's what difference it does. Edit: Sorry, thought you meant visiting THORPE PARK in general, not the name THORPE PARK Resort.
  17. Magic Making do everything. It's really not a biggy at all. They've done some right stinkers. Most of it's on the right track. I imagine this will be crap though, there's not much they can do. They changed their name to magic making in 2012, just rarely been used.
  18. With the coaster being pushed back to '17 or whenever (and that being an obvious big budget year) it's pretty obvious that cycle didn't last long.
  19. Would it cost more than you think though? If sundown and lightwater can afford to have the Angry Birds franchise.. I can't imagine thorpe paying too much more? This'll be a low budget thing through and through.
  20. Woo, we've now got a chance to mix up the two TPRs. TPR is a load of ****e. Which one am I talking about?
  21. Yup, weirdly the way to stop people face planting on the stairs is actually by having people queue on them. No running up them can happen then.
  22. We can look at angry birds lands at the other two parks in the UK (Sundown and Lightwater Valley), and then we can compare thorpes recent lower cost editions (Storm Surge... a bunch of nothing, flying fish). And then look at a ride that they're implementing, a dodgems. Not difficult to come to the conclusion that it's gonna be ****.

    The Smiler

Hmm, I'm unsure there.. do the outdoor speakers actually like being outdoors? I've not witnessed any attraction, ANYWHERE, with Bose speakers where all of them work. Thorpes constantly die, towers ones on every ride have dead ones (sub terra and smilers died within a couple of months, with no audio volume changes). JBL seem to work best.. Considering it's bose who do the installation half the time as well.
  24. Merlin, screw you with your obsession of making fastrack as difficult to run as possible. The new merlin designs feel very very end of tussauds era. I was half expecting a 52 visit limit on the standard pass to reappear! . Ugly designs, ugly benefits, ugly passes.
