May 31, 200916 yr comment_57876 When I last went to Thorpe Park (May 10th) the section after the lift and the chute didn't have the water running which made it look really ugly.Does anyone know why?I'm not sure why but water was running last thursday
May 31, 200916 yr comment_57880 Also, if you look at Tidal Wave from Google Earth you can see that it is empty again and, because you can see The Curse marquee, it was during a fright night
May 31, 200916 yr comment_57881 Also, if you look at Tidal Wave from Google Earth you can see that it is empty again and, because you can see The Curse marquee, it was during a fright nightExactly, it would be empty because it always is!

May 31, 200916 yr comment_57886 If you're talking about the U-bend at the top, then that part of the ride doesn't require water to operate. Exactly, it would be empty because it always is! But when I went in 2007 & 2008 it has always been full of water!
May 31, 200916 yr comment_57889 But when I went in 2007 & 2008 it has always been full of water! Are you talking about the U-Bend, or the small part after the chain release?
May 31, 200916 yr comment_57894 Yeah they had it running about a week and a half back when I went so it shows they can run it. Its proberly for scenery and effect tbh, really does look a lot better when it is running!
May 31, 200916 yr comment_57895 The U-Bend and The DropOh right. Well yes, obviously the drop usually has water on, (but occasionally doesn't), but as far as I am aware, the U-Bend has mostly been operating without water since opening in 2000.
May 31, 200916 yr comment_57899 You do realize that the picture of Tidal Wave on Google Earth could have been taken when it had broken down?
May 31, 200916 yr comment_57917 I rarely see the drop with water tbhme toohavnt seen the u-bend with water for a very long time.. I think I saw it once in 2008
May 31, 200916 yr comment_57918 You do realize that the picture of Tidal Wave on Google Earth could have been taken when it had broken down? And that makes it much better .
May 31, 200916 yr comment_57919 And that makes it much better .:)The drop does often have very little water, if any.
May 31, 200916 yr comment_57920 :)The drop does often have very little water, if any.I guess it doesnt make a difference to the actual ride if it has water or not?
May 31, 200916 yr comment_57921 I guess it doesnt make a difference to the actual ride if it has water or not?No. It would only make a difference to the ride if there was no water in the trough at the bottom of the drop . And that would be nasty.
May 31, 200916 yr comment_57924 It doesn't make a difference to the actual ride but it looks a hell of a lot better from a spectators point of view!
May 31, 200916 yr comment_57926 No. It would only make a difference to the ride if there was no water in the trough at the bottom of the drop . And that would be nasty. yeah that wouldnt be great
May 31, 200916 yr comment_57981 http://www.thorpeparkguide.com/parktour/am.../tidalwave2.jpgI love finding early photos like this, when the ride was so clean and sparkly - and the effects were working. Is that sky real? It looks awfully blue!No I don't think so, if you look at the trees you can see where the grey sky have been cut out we never get that in the U.K.
May 31, 200916 yr comment_57987 No I don't think so, if you look at the trees you can see where the grey sky have been cut out we never get that in the U.K.That queue line would never be so full if the clouds were grey
May 31, 200916 yr comment_57993 Hmmm debateable, can't tell.I think I'll go with Harry on this one, the sky is too blue to be true for England .
May 31, 200916 yr comment_57995 Agreed, looks almost tropical, and lets face it. That's one of many things England isn't
