rossafc Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 I hope there is one tomorow with me on it Quote
Jamie W Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 The reason that Stealth is currently not experiencing many rollbacks is, although partially to do with the weather, because they have taken Car 2 off the track. Any visitors of 2008 will distinctly remember that it was car 2 that did most of the rolling back, due to friction or something in the wheels. Thorpe park have, because of this, taken this car off the track and are using it as the spare car, and car 3 is now one of the main cars on the track, along with car 1. Quote
Theme Park bloke Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 I asked a ride host on Stealth why it hasnt rolled back for a long time, she said they have stopped it rolling back, although she didnt say how They can't stop it from rolling back, not permanently anyway. OK, so it may go through a phase of not many rollbacks, but to say that Stealth will never rollback again is like saying Slammer will never fault again - unpredictable, yet so true. Quote
Colossus 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 Stealth goes faster and it has new very expensive wheels instead of the cheap ones they hasd last year so good wheels means less rollbacks and nowdays stealth glides over the top of it when I was speaking to Carl on it the other day he told me xxx Quote
StevenVig Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 They cant stop rollbacks because its scientifically impossible? Quote
Jamie W Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 They cant stop rollbacks because its scientifically impossible?Pretty much, they can do all they want to cut them down but, at the end of the day, they are still going to happen occaisionally. Quote
rossafc Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 I'm sure we will see more rollbacks after the summer when the weather starts to get windy/rainy Quote
Theme Park bloke Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 they are still going to happen occaisionally.Exactly, they will still happen. Quote
furiouspanda Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 If it was possibly to stop once rollbacks once and for all, they would have done this from the start and not bought a huge number of moving brake fins. Quote
Ricky Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 If it was possibly to stop once rollbacks once and for all, they would have done this from the start and not bought a huge number of moving brake fins. Not nessesseraly, when stealth was ought anti-rollback mechanizams may not of been created or even known about. therefore stealth still having the breaking system on the launch track. Quote
Theme Park bloke Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 Is Stealth up and running yet? And what was up with it last weekend? Quote
Ricky Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 Well staff members arnt allowed to give out that sort of information. So generally I dont think anyone knows unless they were there when it happened. Quote
holtjammy16 Posted July 11, 2009 Report Posted July 11, 2009 Yeah stealth seems to go faster over the top then I ever remember, also when it started going slower over the top they made an announcement and called engineers and then tested it once then opened it again and it was going fast again.I love stealth Quote
rossafc Posted July 11, 2009 Report Posted July 11, 2009 I noticed that last time I went, ususally it slowly goes over the top. But this year it seems to go over easily Quote
Ricky Posted July 11, 2009 Report Posted July 11, 2009 Probably has been tweaked again then. But I still believe a rollback will still happen. Quote
Sam P Posted July 11, 2009 Report Posted July 11, 2009 ^ They cant stop rollback happening think they have put new wheels on so it will stop a lot more rollback happening but a few will still happen. Quote
Jake C Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 did anyone know there wasa replica called zaturn? here it is http://www.rcdb.com/ig3454.htm?picture=8 Quote
Sidders Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 Yes, but it's not quite as fast as Stealth and the Air-Time Hill is shallower. Quote
A-Kid Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 ^^ Yeah. Stealth looks prettyer though. Even if they are clones. Quote
TimR Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 Stealth seemed very forceful yesterday, just as we went up my head was thrown forward, never happened before. Quote
