Fred
Theming comes under another budget, and anything can be put under the special budgets. It's literally a case of whether the directors care enough to bother. Someone just needs to put a case study to them, how it'd improve stuff and all that to justify the expenditure and woo, done. Mr.man
I think the first two turns should stay the same level as the station and then on the staright bit before the tunnel there should be a drop. I also think the boats should have bars.
Mattgwise
Still very lacking with effects. The water over the tunnel entrance still not working. The sprinklers before the conveyor were on today and also noticed a new sprinkler on the turntable just next to the exit steps which was squirting the boats as they were joining the station turntable however this sadly stopped by the afternoon. (You can see the tap and sprinkler if you look right just before going up the exit steps)
holtjammy16
The water over the tunnel entrance still not working.Isn't that a good thing? I mean yeah it did make the ride fun but since they make you bring all your belongings on ride with you, it's a good idea they leave it off... :/
Mattgwise
Spoilsport, what your saying is daft about it being better with it off as it keeps your belongings dry, if you didnt want your belongings wet you simply would not go on what is supposed to be a "water ride". I would definatley want the waterfall on.
thorpeparkjack
Totally agree Matt. It's a WATER ride.
hellomrperson
I kind of agree with both of you. Although it's a water ride, there are no signs telling you that you must bring your belongings with you onto the ride.

little ken
If Only....Heh-heh! Adverts! I bet that ride is nowhere near as good as they make it look!
Mattgwise
Now that I would love a billion times more than Rumba Rapids!Looking at the top picture and the trees it makes me think this would be good in the Dark Forest at Alton Towers! I say get rid of Conga River Rapids and add something like that in the Dark Forest.
thorpeparkjack
Is that Jungle Rapids at Gardaland by any chance. If so I have been on that and it is very good, 100000000000x better than crumba!
Mattgwise
Crumba is a good name! But you should say the full name Crumba Crapids.

jjh123horry
Just wondering if anyone has any pictures of Rumba inside this Fright Nights?Ive been told that there is a statue in the tunnel, which resembles a pig man from saw. I would like to know what this may look like :PAlso have they turned any of the effects on, because I really think it is a shame if they haven't they made the ride more enjoyable, and wet Thanks Guys
MiniShinny
Would there be any way in a rapids ride to add a whirlpool in which the riders go into. Can't see how this would work.

joshg06
I have just been to Thorpe Park today. Was really disappointed in the state that Rumba Rapids is in. Even the paint work is awful! (What’s left of it anyway!)Rumba desperately needs attention and more than a quick make over. To be honest, it hasn’t been the same since Thunder River. However, I don’t think the park will ever consider this to be important. I see more chance in it being removed that re-themed or altered... Which is a shame! Mr.man
Has anyone actually thought of this yet, because it has been playing on my mind ages. I know Rumba and Storm Surge are slightly different rides, but they also are quite the same. So do you think, that by the way Thorpe are adding quite a similar ride, this could be a hint to Rumba leaving? If so what would replace it? Marc
Id say its more likely to be a replacement for Depth Charge personally, Rumba Rapids is a high capacity family ride which I cant see them removing any time soon. I do hope it gets a much needed spruce up within the next few years though.
